Thanks for insights. I definitely want a pro to fix this. Finding a shop that's not going to sell me a hood repaint will probably be the challenging task.

That was my hope but the scratch is deep and down to bare metal so I'll definitely need paint work. I was just wondering if once the dent is fixed the scratch can be touched up or will the whole hood need to be repainted.

Wow, 5 times! what did you need repainted? I have what looks like rock chips on my car. They were there when I picked it up from the factory.
