My cars Spotify is definitely fickle. When I get spinny wheel, I switch to another source like radio and then switch back to Spotify. That usually takes care of it but sometimes I have to do it multiple times.
If I were to guess, I think it has something to do with how well it's getting data...

I was ripping the CD's using Windows Media Players option to 'Rip CD automatically'. When this option is set, it begins to rip the CD before it's had a chance to download the meta data for the song so it sets it to 'Unknown'. After I manually typed in the metadata info...
