Apparently you are one of those people that doesn't bother to read. This is not warranty related, it is an insurance claim and thus that language you quote is not applicable. Many insurance policies specify new replacement parts only. Read your policy.

A retrofit steering wheel with just a plain old button for steering wheel heat could work just fine I would imagine. I think the airbag integration will be the tricky part.

Outside air temp means you had heat running and @123kmh your consumption would be significantly above rated even without the heat running. Sounds normal to me.

I can tell you it takes only about 1 hr labour for a short simple run. Give them 1 hr travel time on each side, anything over 300 for labour is unreasonable.

I don't understand chill mode. Isn't it better to have the power available in the unlikely event you might need it versus not? You can just drive yourself in chill mode. There would be no difference in efficiency unless you're driving it around floored all the time, which isn't good for...
