    Battery Drain While Driving

There's some talk in this thread about aero covers. I saw a youtube video test where the aero covers only added 0.5% to efficiency. So we're talking about 1.5 miles of extra range out of a full charge.

Ah, no hotline to Elon then? ;-)

    Long hold functionality change

Hmm, never knew this. I've just used the right click to skip to the next track. I'll give this a try and see what it does.

    Brake problem?

Mine don't make any sound that I've noticed but I am careful as Vines suggests above to put regen in low once in awhile and do some hard acceleration and braking while descending a hill (with no other cars around).

you called "Tesla Ownership"? Who exactly is that?

P3D+ replacing stock brake pads soon, any tips?

As Mcbarnet said above the rear parking brake is going to be an issue. Look into a how-to on that before you get started. On another note, the high level of regen in the Model 3 makes track pads on the street even more sketchy since they literally don't get warmed up at all and then if you...

A Love Story: Model 3 is so good, monster truck drivers want to finger it

In my opinion, AP caused this issue. It has happened to me, AP brakes too aggressively and leaves too big of a gap. The truck behind could see the car in front of you and wasn't expecting you to brake so hard and then accelerate so slowly...not in character with the way 95% of the people drive...

    TeslaCam 5.15 Update

I guess they are designed for self driving computers and not Youtube.

    Forcing an alternate route?

Yes we need route alternatives plus a 'no freeway' option. C'mon Tesla, Google maps can do it. Perhaps when people have to start paying for premium connectivity they will add more features.

    Flat tire day

The foam tires are available, at least for the Pilot PS4. They are a bit more expensive.

    Flat tire day

So was this a Tesla Ranger or independent roadside assistance? And they came out with a new tire and mounted it on your wheel onsite? Fantastic!

Moving to Germany and Want to Take Model 3

Not saying they would or should, just giving yet another reason for the OP to reconsider taking his Tesla to Germany

    Reducing weight

Much much more to be gained in track time from training and experience than from shaving a few pounds, until you reach a fairly high level of competence.

Found out what’s causing undercarriage composite to break apart

I'm in SoCal so I'm not anticipating a tremendous amount of dirt there, although I do occasionally drive a short distance on a dirt road, I just don't like the idea of water accumulating. I'll take your advice though and hold off on drilling for now.

Moving to Germany and Want to Take Model 3

I read somewhere that Tesla will not support gray market cars brought in from the U.S. As others have said, forget it, not worth the trouble.

Found out what’s causing undercarriage composite to break apart

I'm considering drilling this hole. Is it still agreed that this is the best spot? And just to confirm, this is slightly on the passenger side of the center line, correct?

Undercoating and rustproofing Tesla Model 3

Did the spray add much weight to the liners? Any concern that will cause an issue? Perhaps the aftermarket will offer a higher quality, more sound absorbing liner at some point. Let us know as you drive it some more about your thoughts on road noise reduction.

Anyone *not* use microfiber cloths for cleaning?

Great to re-use old stuff and donate for sure. But just know that cotton is not generally considered a sustainable crop, requiring massive amounts of water and chemicals.

Undercoating and rustproofing Tesla Model 3

Curious if the rubberized under coating in the wheel wells will reduce road noise?
  24. M

Anyone *not* use microfiber cloths for cleaning?

It sounds like your concern was with using microfiber because you feel they are bad for the environment. My point is that most clothing has similar synthetic fibers. Not sure about where you live, but here clothing that is put in the trash ends up in a land fill and not the ocean so whether...

Anyone *not* use microfiber cloths for cleaning?

I guess any synthetic fiber could fall into that category, so what about all of your clothing....is it all cotton?

Repeated Model 3 power window issues

I recall reading about a similar situation. Turns out water was getting into the window regulator. Should be an easy fix for the service center.

    P3D+ wheel and tire set

I would not suggest run flats. When BMW went to run flats they all of a sudden had issues with tires getting bubbles and rims bending from pot holes. They also makes the ride very harsh. Yes, go with 18's for New York but non runflats, in my opinion.

Aftermarket Racing Performance brake rotors - weight loss w/better heat dissipation at a steep price

DO NOT UNPLUG! This video explains why and the manual release method which may or may not work on Model 3. Good luck.

Aftermarket Racing Performance brake rotors - weight loss w/better heat dissipation at a steep price

I know with Audi and Porsche the electric e-brake can be released manually although it does require a bit of disassembly. Don't know if Tesla uses a similar design. Not sure a caliper spreader is going to work if that motor is locked into place. Good luck.

Body shop finds Model 3's gathering large amounts of dirt and sand due to improper drainag

    P3D+ Acceleration

Even if it's possible to beat the S, I don't think it will happen. For same reason BMW keeps the M5 faster than the M3 and Porsche 911 over the Cayman.

keep your key card with you at all times..

Nice to have the redundancy of the key card whereas with ICE if you misplace your key dob you are typically out of luck.

What other automotive manufacturer has their vehicle prices all trending down?

I question the 'high demand' statement. Tesla would not be dropping their prices with high demand. In my opinion demand for the higher priced spectrum of the model 3 has fallen off a cliff worldwide.
  39. M

What other automotive manufacturer has their vehicle prices all trending down?

Cars aren't typically sold for sticker price so you don't really know what their ASPs are. Some consumer incentives (rebates) are published but a lot of incentives go to dealers to allow them to sell at lower prices and still earn a profit.
  40. M

    Newbie confusion

Forget the massive checklist...the car is under warranty and if there is an issue Tesla will fix it. What you want to check for are unacceptable body fit and finish issues, scratches, wheel curbed, etc. You want to have these noted and if they are severe enough perhaps not accept delivery, but...

Water Pooling in Frunk After Automated Touchless Car Wash

Glad you got it fixed. i1Tesla on youtube did a video on install of Frunk lights and he put his video cam in the frunk and closed the lid and you could see a light gap through his seal. I was curious so I did the same today on mine and no visible light from inside the frunk when closed.

Thinking about joining legal action on recent massive price cut

If anything Tesla is more honest than other manufacturers who don't drop their sticker prices but provide massive incentives but oftentimes only for those in the know. I bought my 550i for almost $10,000 below invoice whereas the next guy that came in may have paid invoice and been happy..

    Driving with left foot

Agree with taking Uber. Those of us that have experimented with left foot braking as a performance technique (in my case in an ICE vehicle) will tell you that it takes a long time to develop appropriate subtlety for braking...but the accelerator especially on the 3 requires much more finesse...

Has anyone actually heard the blind spot chime yet???

I sure hope every model 3 owner doesn't go out and make unsafe lane changes for the purpose of testing this feature. Crazy.
  49. M

So tell me about a model 3 without EAP. What will it still do.

That's not my experience, one example is when passing cars in a left hand turn lane TACC hit the brakes for some reason. Very dangerous if there had been a car behind me. Does it technically work, yes. Is it better than me and does it give me confidence, NO.
  50. M

So tell me about a model 3 without EAP. What will it still do.

You don't want TACC for surface streets. And when you have it, you lose the basic cruise control which actually IS functional on surface streets.
