Not to my knowledge. How often do you run over the 6 hour period?

Plug in J1772 adapter first -- or connect adapter to charger first?

Hard to find manual? Tesla manuals are probably the easiest to find of all autos, maybe even all products. Search for "Tesla Model 3 Manual" (or whatever model) takes you right to it. It's also available on the screen in the car and should have been in the glovebox. Opening the Charge Port The...

Installing Hidden Trailer Brake - Redarc Tow Pro Elite

I believe that the issue is more focused around the current requirements. Some trailers have significant current requirements at 12V, sometimes this is actually hooked up to the trailers 12V battery bank. This sometimes causes fuses to be blown in conventional towing arrangements, but the...

    Available Basically new Cybertruck

Yes, it is a free market and as a player on the market, Tesla offered vehicles for sale with some restrictions in the contract. This is legal and was done to protect that many Tesla buyers that don't want to see bots (or flippers) purchasing the vehicles and raising the price to over $200.000...

Sorry, just checked, it appears you can only make a reservation for the non-FS at this time.

    FSD Warning #1

That's an "exceeded max speed" strike. Yes, there is a max speed for FSD. I believe that it is currently 85 mph.

Has anyone realized how profoundly FSD will disrupt Real Estate?

Uh, no. For 99% of the hard surface of the earth, you are on owned property and responsible for paying as a "tenant" And I don't sit in the same seat in my house, my position derivative is non-zero. As has been mentioned, this is a pretty ludicrous concept as being something that catches on...

Has anyone realized how profoundly FSD will disrupt Real Estate?

Sitting behind a UPS truck for a minute is FAR from being outside the norm. I'm sure that there are drivers that wouldn't pass it at all. Driving around town at 10 mph is an exaggeration. But I can guarantee you that FSD was not envisioned, nor expected to drive like you. At this point...

how does the new end to end FSD work, need a block diagram from of data flow from the fleet to DoJO to an individual's car

I'm pretty sure that they can't force you. But they definitely can give you a discount if you do.

    battery life

Source? For batteries before about 2017, there was indeed issues. Tesla has replaced a lot of them. But since them, replacement rates are very low.

Scheduled charging (off peak hours) on an Ioniq 5

That really isn't the correct use. People periodically have problems doing it this way. Just setting the off-peak is all that is needed.

Installing Hidden Trailer Brake - Redarc Tow Pro Elite

That's one of the cool things that's in the Cybertruck that gets very little mention. It comes with a built-in trailer brakes controller and is included in the UI. It even has a railer light test button in the UI!

how does the new end to end FSD work, need a block diagram from of data flow from the fleet to DoJO to an individual's car

It absolutely is how statistics works. If the probability of a driver having an incident is X and the probability of FSD having an incident is lower, then when the driver is removed from the larger pool and FSD is added, the overall probability of the pool will decrease. In might be small, but...

how does the new end to end FSD work, need a block diagram from of data flow from the fleet to DoJO to an individual's car

I'd word it a little different. If you've lost your license, you can still travel in the car that you aren't driving.

    Driving dynamics - MY RWD/LR

I just went through some threads and some of this stuff with the differences, especially the range, has changed recently. But, what doesn't seems to have changed is that they are the same vehicle. One has one motor, the other has two. Maybe the extra weight or power makes it feels like a...
  18. E

    Available Basically new Cybertruck

Yep, absolutely. Tesla doesn't use dealers. So you bought it as a private entity and you are asking for more than the sales price. That's pretty much the definition of flipping. And I'm pretty sure there was no exclusion in the resale clause for "dealers"

    FSD Warning #1

There are probabilities that there are employees that do. But then what if anything they can do with the information is another thing.
  20. E

how does the new end to end FSD work, need a block diagram from of data flow from the fleet to DoJO to an individual's car

It boils down differently for me. If the worst driver selects to use FSD and FSD is better than the worst driver, then road safety improves. At least in the 100 yards around the worst driver.

    5 miles plus per kilowatt

Tesla Model 3 has reached over 600 miles on a circular track.
  22. E

Has anyone realized how profoundly FSD will disrupt Real Estate?

FSD has to be trusted. It takes time to learn to trust it. There are very few things that it won't do if you just trust it. For example, stopped postal delivery vehicle on two-lane road with oncoming traffic. The car slows, then stops, waits for the opposing traffic to pass and then moves into...

    navigation map question

I believe that is still the traffic depiction on a 2-lane road, the ones that are only shown with a single line. That's as opposed to 4+ lane roads that are shown with multiple lines. This is from Google Maps in a computer browser, not the car. Notice College Ave SE in the lower portion. It is...

Tesla Model Y Long Range 2023 - I AM NEW!!

Just go through the videos on the Tesla site and in the App. Leave YouTube out, too much misinformation and click-bait. Driving dynamics - MY RWD/LR

It's a classic situation. Sitting in a different car always feels odd. But after sitting in it for awhile, it feels better. Did you happen to look at any of the driving profile settings of the vehicles? And yes, even the slowest Tesla is significantly faster than most anything else on the road!!!
  27. E

Scheduled charging (off peak hours) on an Ioniq 5

That has significant limitations compared to Tesla's options. For off-peak charging, in a Tesla, all you have to do is specify off-peak start time. That's it. In an unrelated, but often compared option. Departure time is a single number denoting your departure time and is intended to condition...

Plug in J1772 adapter first -- or connect adapter to charger first?

That's my point! It is "possible" to press and pull so fast that the communications haven't had time to complete, and the inverters haven't turned off. The CHAdeMO and CCS adapters also show some of the issue. CHAdeMO plugs, I believe, are infamous for having broken release buttons. Instantly...

Feeling scammed on FSD retrofit. Am I in the wrong?

I found a manufacturing defect with my Model T. Can I get it fixed? Should manufacturers still be required to carry remediations for Pinto gas tanks? There has to be a cut-off. In private aviation there really hasn't been the same limitation. The result is that liability costs for the...

  32. E

Plug in J1772 adapter first -- or connect adapter to charger first?

I'm talking about the physical latch that's on the J-1772 adapter and the safety latch that's in the car. You can't pull the Tesla plug out until the safety latch has disengaged. You can easily push and pull the J-1772 latch at the same time. AFIK, the Tesla adapter doesn't have any mechanism...

    battery life

Elon has mentioned that the Model 3 batteries were on course for 300,000 miles a few years ago. The Semi's batteries were being designed for a million miles. Nothing is saying that guidance is incorrect so far. Most Model 3 batteries are still in excellent health.
  34. E

Plug in J1772 adapter first -- or connect adapter to charger first?

Can you say where that is in the manual? About the only thing that I can find is Tesla also offers adapters that allow you to plug into the most commonly used public charging stations in your region. At a public charge station, first attach the adapter to the station's charging connector and...

Feeling scammed on FSD retrofit. Am I in the wrong?

Lots can be said, but AFAIK, all that was ever said about FSD was that if you had HW2.5 (as in the original Model 3) and bought FSD, you would get the upgrades necessary to run FSD. I don't remember any promises about stuff before then. You could have another option, no upgrade path...

Cybertruck ready to order, need advise…

Do you have an order or a reservation? Big difference and very different consequences. Hint: Orders have only been available since the first of Dec 2023. Reservations have been around for 4 years. Most reservations have refundable deposits, orders don't.

    After Delivery Service issues

Create a Service Request. Since you mentioned last owner, I'm assuming that this is a used vehicle. If you were sold a vehicle with a rock chip, then I'm not sure how much you will get from them. A rock chip is a non-warranted item on a new vehicle and most used vehicles warranties have as-is...

And it becomes a big issue on where and how you interface with the fixed world. Like mail. Like addresses for things. There are a lot of things that require valid mailing and living addresses.

    5 miles plus per kilowatt

200Wh/mi (aka 5mi/kWh) is relatively easy to do, just get off the Interstates and enjoy the drive. Lucid CEO may be suggesting that they have hit EPA numbers of 5mi/kWh, which is great.
  43. E

Has anyone realized how profoundly FSD will disrupt Real Estate?

So first, you are talking about an RV. Not obvious the first few times I read it. You've got to stop and charge periodically. And that's a manual process that I don't want to wake up for in the middle of the night or while I'm at work. The floor space of most RVs is smaller than the amount in...

how does the new end to end FSD work, need a block diagram from of data flow from the fleet to DoJO to an individual's car

You are coming up all sorts of bogus conclusions. ALL drivers can be distracted. Pretty much ALL drivers are worse than they think. Careless is easy. You are also assuming that if FSD is a worse driver than the elite group that you list, that it will kill people. Definitely not a given...
  45. E

how does the new end to end FSD work, need a block diagram from of data flow from the fleet to DoJO to an individual's car

Absolutely not! "Not just as good as average/mediocre/impaired/careless drivers" If FSD is better than "average/mediocre/impaired/careless drivers" then it will save lives. If does not have to be better than "good skilled conscientious human drivers"
  46. E

    navigation map question

That's indeed the traffic indications and it is a little misleading, but true. At stoplights or stop signs, the average speed of vehicles decreases, so that's what you are seeing, a decrease of other vehicles speeds. What do you expect red to indicate? Very slow or stopped vehicles?

how does the new end to end FSD work, need a block diagram from of data flow from the fleet to DoJO to an individual's car

What I suspect that some auto manufacturers are anticipating and I'm sure the NHTSA is thinking about, is the attention mechanisms that the companies are using to confirm driver attention in the FSD type of vehicles. It's not going to be long before those mechanisms get moved to ALL vehicles...

how does the new end to end FSD work, need a block diagram from of data flow from the fleet to DoJO to an individual's car

BS! It's the impaired or distracted drivers that are killing people! If Tesla could get rid of just those categories, I'm sure that they would get every safety award and medal from the President. That's over 20,000 people per year if I remember correctly.
