Installing Magic docks perhaps? Usually, they pull those signs down when opening up the chargers to Non-Teslas.

It may or may not have been down. Some of the sites out here can pop offline if their cell connection goes away or has issues. Seen it happen to Hamilton and Lubbock where both would go offline but still worked if you pulled up and plugged in. We've also had some nasty wind around here the last...

    Supercharger - Early, TX

I haven't been by since before Christmas. There was some big construction project going on right next to the Starbucks, but I don't know what it is. There was no obvious work being done at either the Starbucks itself or the CEFCO across the street. I'll be able to make a trip down in a week or...

Supercharger - Lubbock, TX - E Slaton Hwy

You'd have to read through a lot of the other thread regarding the Lubbock Service Center Supercharger to get a lot of this historical context. That thread started off as the general Lubbock thread until the Service Center one was constructed and then it morphed into the thread for service...

2023.44.30.2 downloaded to 100%, then poof, gone.

Same happened to me. 2023.44.30.2 was offered in the middle of the night last night and it downloaded to 100% and was just waiting for me to click install. It sat there patiently asking me to install all day. Every time I got in the car, I got the update nag but didn't want to do it until I got...

This does NOT confirm Supercharger construction as there was no sign of any Tesla hardware on site... But there is a large plot of land next to the Starbucks with some sort of construction going on. Took a look at the GIS database for Early and both plots aren't owned by the same group so it...

    Supercharger - Post, TX

The Post Supercharger at the CEFCO on US-84 is now under construction. The cabinets are on site (though still packaged). I didn't expect anything as I was driving through on my way to Levelland but was surprised to see construction. I quickly turned around and pulled in to take some quick pics...

I don't specifically remember seeing this site showing on Supercharge.info. Generally, sites aren't added until we have some sort of confirmed permit (either from local or state authorities). I check the Lubbock's permit DB every couple of days and just checked again. Lots of permits listed but...

Supercharger - Lubbock, TX - E Slaton Hwy

Yeah, don't know why this site is taking so long. There is a CEFCO travel center in Abilene that is being built 10x faster than this. Feels like this has been under construction forever.

I noticed those discrepancies too when I saw this project earlier. Seems like a copy/paste issue or someone hadn't had their coffee yet.

Did you happen to check the CEFCO across the street? Just curious since several new construction Superchargers around this area have been at CEFCOs. I have a theory (not backed up by any hard evidence) that this one is actually going in there and the TDLR filing is wrong. This Starbucks just...

It is open and has been for several weeks now. Not sure what you're looking at. It's open according to Supercharge.info as well. Also shows as online in the Tesla app and in-car nav. Supercharge.info is updated with crowd sourced info, so it may not be real-time. I'd go by the status as shown...

Looks like it's headed to being official - $400 registration fee and $200 annual fee in Texas for EVs

Those taxes on your electric bill are not going into the state's road maintenance fund. The EV Road Tax is meant to put about the same amount of money into that fund that an average car that drives an average number of miles does when it buys gas all year. The state calculated EV road tax like...

Looks like it's headed to being official - $400 registration fee and $200 annual fee in Texas for EVs

True, the press release shows that, but Tesla's don't get 2-year stickers. 2-year stickers are only issued to brand new cars sold by a new car dealer recognized and registered with the state... I can't find any new laws that would have modified that rule, so I assume it's still valid. Tesla...

I like this too. Prior to us switching from our ICE to the Tesla for trips between Abilene and Levelland, Post was our mid-trip stop when we needed one. Having this Supercharger (once open) means we can do that again with the Tesla.

Technically yes... but that new law does not go into effect until Jan 1, 2025. So, for the rest of 2023/2024, we still have to do the annual inspection.

Lol, I did the trip in my ICE car since the round trip milage on that route would have exceeded my Model Y's range. Ended up being about 4hrs round trip. Just turned-on Spotify on my phone and cruised. I was also bored that day and had nothing else going on.

Pleasantly surprised that they are putting one in by Big Bend National Park. Think the Supercharger voting map is like what you say, a "coming soon" map. This location in Terlingua itself is on the current voting map. The voting, may if anything, slightly determine build out priority. Both...

Supercharger - Lubbock, TX - E Slaton Hwy

Yes, Toot'n Totum applied last year to change the address from "Zenith Ave" to "E Slaton Hwy (US 84)". They could do that since the property has frontage to both roads. Not sure exactly why the name was changed but I'm guessing it is so Toot'n Totum can use the more widely known street name in...

SCs for the most part, especially in rural areas aren't necessarily there to serve the locals. They are to facilitate long distance travel. Based on what I can see on supercharge.info's map, it looks like they are trying to electrify a direct route from Houston to Shreveport and this would fall...

The I-14 designation is fairly new and also known as the 14th amendment highway. The I-14 designation was approved in 2015. The segment in Killeen/Harker Heights was only just signed in 2017. GM announces use of NACS

Guess I should have clarified, CCS1 in North America is effectively dead. This has no bearing on other world markets. As an example, CCS2 is necessary in Europe due to prevalence of 3-phase power which NACS can't accommodate. I was all for Tesla going CCS1 on new builds from the factory...

    GM announces use of NACS

I don't think cable length is dictated by NACS. The short supercharger cables were just because only Tesla's could charge at them and the ports were all in the same spot on the car, so they only had to design for one scenario. V4 chargers have longer cables and I expect any other NACS station...

    GM announces use of NACS

With the Ford and GM now on board with NACS, CCS1 in north America will now be effectively dead. I predict we will start seeing more auto makers in the US market switch to NACS on new vehicles. I also believe we'll start to see existing CCS charge posts converted to NACS or new NACS posts...
