Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

And if the earlier report somebody posted today about them signing a deal with LG for 4.3B worth of electrode material is true then there will be that too.

Model 3 Highland Performance/Plaid Speculation [Car announced 04.23.2024]

I think a lot of you guys that think a comparable M3P (in terms of performance) to an S would cannibalize the S sales are forgetting that S/X only account for less than 4% of total sales… They can make it faster than the S and it would hardly matter for the bottom line due to how many more 3s...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I had a 12/19/23 built demo RWD Y as a loaner recently and it already had HW4. What is strange is that I also drove an early Jan ‘24 built LR Y and it was still with HW3. But I guess the point is that HW4 is already being installed on the Y.

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

You know, our Y is pretty solid in that department. Definitely feels more "jumpy" over bumps vs the 3, but no rattles. Just had them address the axle clicking noise and a pop from the rear subframe, but that's it. Now the '21 100D X I just had as a loaner is a whole nother story. I hope this...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Drove a highland today and I think we should be in for a treat, provided there are no hiccups scaling up production. For context I have a ‘22 perf y and a December built ‘23 rwd 3; like many other reviews state, the ride is more compliant on the highland even over my 3. Definitely quieter inside...

You sure got a laugh out of me when I read that, but then I googled fluffer-bot and saw that it was a real thing during initial phases of the Model 3 production.

    3 SolarEdge 18XB7 Failures

How many failures have you had altogether?

    3 SolarEdge 18XB7 Failures

Yea, I’m interested in a solark as well so that I can AC couple it to the enphase setup, if that’s what I end up doing. Would like to do an “off-grid” pergola, so that’s why I’m considering this. This being a Tesla forum we should not be surprised by smear campaigns, but when there are so many...

    3 SolarEdge 18XB7 Failures

Ouch! Sorry to hear that man! These kinds of issues are precisely why I'm reluctant to go with solaredge over enphase for a roof mount system I've been considering. It really seems like anywhere you look there are always these horror stories about solaredge and hardly any complaints against...

Was just about to say, when the "competition" looks like this and is becoming more and more bloated and disconnected from the driving feel, it can't be that hard to surpass them

Wow, I recognized the avatar from this thread. So sad and another reminder to everybody, in case they needed it, not to over-leverage themselves https://teslamotorsclub.com/tmc/threads/peter-my-husband-took-his-own-life.290396/ Condolences Claudia @pz1975 :(

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Good idea! They already pushed out auto cancelling turn signals to 3/Y with the holiday update. EDIT: Agree with Cliff’s point above though. These capabilities need to be fully functional first, unlike the idiotic move to remove the ultrasonic sensors before the cameras can be relied on for...

Any thoughts regarding the uptick rule being in effect today and its effect on the price action? I think I remember reading that the stock can still be shorted via puts, but I’m not sure about those details. Wondering if we can expect the walk down to resume tomorrow.

Model Y Performance Track Mode has arrived as a Holiday Software Update: As seen on twitter!!!!!

Exactly! About the only thing you can't do is burnouts, but it allows you to step the back end way out, so in my opinion, that is the definition of having fun.

Model Y Performance Track Mode has arrived as a Holiday Software Update: As seen on twitter!!!!!

The power distribution slider does not actually make the car RWD or FWD, so you will not be able to do standing burnouts. The car is still always AWD, especially in a straight line, and it simply effects how the power gets applied while you're in a turn or already in a slide.

Model Y Performance Track Mode has arrived as a Holiday Software Update: As seen on twitter!!!!!

What a useless video… Guy spends 8 minutes blathering on and driving around a parking lot like a grandma. I finally got the update this afternoon and took it for a quick spin. First impression on the drift setting is that it is absolutely able to put down power coming out of turns unlike the...

    Tesla and MyQ

Finally got the update today! The garage door motor does not beep when the car closes it after you leave the garage, but it does if you manually close it from the car. After it opens the door upon your arrival it will not close it if you leave again, unless you put the car in park; that seems...

Clunking sounds on rear suspension when accelerating / decelerating or flexing frame

Does this sound like a loud pop/clunk inside the car with the windows up, or higher pitched, metallic clicking sound that can be heard with the windows down?

Model Y Performance - Track Mode

    Any feedback? :)

    Model Y tint pictures

It probably did, but wasn't noticeable or annoying. I would still strongly recommend tinting the front windows and then address the trim via whichever way makes more sense to you, be it a new CF trim piece or wrapping your existing one. Ceramic-type tint makes a huge difference in keeping the...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

That may work if the electric drivetrain was not gimped in these hybrids, but as they are, I'm afraid the owners will not see the performance benefits of having an electric car and will only view it as something they use for economy. Case in point - you can see that the prime in EV-only mode...

Just get a carbon fiber dash, or cover it with some flat vinyl. After getting my CF dash I don't even notice it anymore.

    Ride Height Measurements

I remember from my e36 M3 days that those cars were setup that way to account for driver weight. Would not be surprised if our cars are the same way.

    Best convex mirrors?

Yes, I noticed that on mine also, but you see so much more to the side anyway that I don’t feel like it’s really a problem.

Has anyone installed side fender vents on MY?

As was I, lol! This reminds me of a thread on some passat forum like 15 years ago where a guy came in asking how to best clean his car or make it more shiny or something like that and they all told him to use wet sandpaper. He kept posting back asking why it's looking duller and they kept...

Has anyone installed side fender vents on MY?

Pics? I like my mods to be functional, so I'll be happy with a horsepower increase. Guessing your vents improve aerodynamics also?
  28. T

    Best convex mirrors?

Wow, these are really cool! I just got blue hansshow ones today and they make a huge difference. Glad I came across this thread. The Model Y mirrors are definitely slightly smaller coming from a Model S, now that's no longer the case.

    MY: Fun to drive?

I had a 600hp supercharged S2000 on Ohlins coilovers and a modded 996 turbo on H&R coilovers and I think a MYP is both, very fun to drive and is great in the twisties! It definitely does not feel like a 911 simply because the weight is equally distributed, but it can definitely hang with the S2K...

Should I sell my Model S?

For your reference, I just sold a fully loaded, including jumpout seats, ‘15 S 85D with ~62k to one of the broker sites like carvana. Car still had a year of CPO warranty left and free supercharging for life. The broker took it directly to Mannheim where a used car dealer across the country...

Suspension Upgrades for 2022 model Y

Ha, I went from a ‘15 S 85d on 21” wheels to a Y also and the Y is a better car all around (and yes, that even includes the ride and handling) except for some minor interior finishes and the manual handles. I wish the top of the dash and door panels were wrapped in the same leatherette material...

Suspension Upgrades for 2022 model Y

You say that like it's a bad thing. Although I would agree that starting with the f30 generation even non-sport package BMWs were too soft. I think you're actually proving Destiny's point... My '22 Performance Y rides awesome and you can tell that they've definitely tuned this suspension for the...

    FSD subscription question

Navigate on autopilot, auto lane change and just flipping the turn signal to change lanes instead of having to disengage AP, stop light/sign recognition, summon, ability to get into the fsd beta program so that it can navigate on city streets.

I don't know if it's a tesla app setting, or something about my phone, but I've noticed that I often end up having to completely delete the app and reinstall it in order to get the new features. Had to do that for insurance today.... Their quote ended up being 30 bucks more per 6 months than...

FS VA: Motorsport Tech 4 20mm spacers for Model S/X

Yea, the mileage is kind of a superfluous metric here since it's not like these things wear out, haha :) I had them on my S with the OEM turbines and they looked spectacular given that they're pretty well recessed into the wheel well from the factory. Looked very much like the stance on the...

Beautiful! Get it right away, it’s a huge improvement 😊 I don’t even see it inside my garage. One piece of advice is to lay down a strip of black vinyl or electrical tape along the silver trim piece running the length of the white trim; there is a tiny gap and the white will really shine through
