You don't need to. Just waiting will eventually make the car go the other way after 2-3 seconds. If you have the space, it's no problem. Just don't try it when you are rolling towards a wall...

For me the problem totally disappeared. It improved massively with the .24 updates, and it's fixed in the .28 updates.

Cars have been able to withstand those heats for good knows how long now. It shouldn't be any different in a Tesla unless they skimped on the use of automotive graded parts (such as the yellowing screens of the model s).

AP and Cruise cancel when you hit the brake. Hitting the accelerator only speeds up the car, but doesn't disengage AP or Cruise. Yanking the wheel will disengage AP, and switch back to Cruise.
