I am looking for info about Biden and continuing the EV Tax Credit. My Dad says they want to do away with tax credits, of course, he supports the other guy. Does anyone have any know links from reputable resources? All I can find is references to his Cash for Clunkers plans. TIA!

Maybe Rivian should release the trucks ahead of schedule. That way everyone can spend time looking at crappy paint, panel gaps, back seats that don’t line up, and they can listen to motor whine only on some of the vehicles, but not others. I hope that Rivian is doing it right.

I don’t get it, the truck and the SUV were unveiled in November of 2018 with an expected delivery of 2020. The Pandemic slowed them to 2021. 2 years from unveiling to production doesn’t seem that bad.

I emailed them a bunch of questions last night and they got back to me this morning. I got a lot of “very soon!” answers. I like to think they are getting things right and not rushing to market with poorly built vehicles that spend their first several weeks in service centers.

Sucks that you can’t get the Performance without PUP. I don’t want the lowered suspension, 21” Ubertines, or loss of range.

Too bad the dealers are doing $15k mark ups on the Ford. Sort of negates the $7500.

I just want to see the build specs and actual prices. I am torn between the Y and the Rivian. I have a pretty outdoor lifestyle and the Rivian seems perfect for that, but if it’s going to be $70k for a bottom of the line 250 mile range 0-Subaru acceleration, I don’t think it’s worth it.

He better get the plants in Texas or Nevada built and operational before he shuts CA down. The last thing Tesla needs is to be backed up on deliveries. Especially with Audi, Ford, VW, Rivian, and a bunch of other cars hot on his EV heels.

So, I have to spend $1000 for a hutch if all I want to do is carry a couple of bikes, or maybe a luggage rack on trips?

I have been trying to figure this out too. My insurance guy said he couldn’t give me a quote without a VIN. So, he wants me to buy the car then figure out how much to insure it. That’s lame.

Bring the Bus to market and we will see how they sell. Of course they are still a couple of years away on that.

You can add FSD later. Can’t turn a LR AWD into a performance. I assume it’s more to insure the Performance.

Ok, back on topic for me. How did the headroom look in the back? Would you say there is more trunk room in the back or is it just because it’s a hatchback?

Me! I have not ordered yet, but we will be getting a Y. I have a wife, 2 kids, and a dog. We fit in my wife’s cross trek ok, but I don’t think we could road trip in a 3. That’s why the Y will be great for us.

It’s interesting that a salesman knew how many orders there are when nobody else does. I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s that high, but who knows?

I wish they would put them in the showrooms. It would certainly boost orders. I am literally waiting on buying a Tesla until I see and sit in a Y.

Sadly, I haven’t bought a model 3 yet. I am trying to decide if I should wait in the Y for the storage space and hatchback, or go with the 3 and get a bit more range and acceleration. My Jeep is in the shop as we speak. It might make the decision for me.
