    New Model 3 Performance news

I didn’t mind the regen setup in my A3-etron. The car would coast when you took your foot off the accelerator pedal. When you put your foot on the brake it would apply regen up to (I think) about 75kW and after that the friction brakes would engage to give the deceleration you wanted above...

    New Model 3 Performance news

The Model 3 Performance page on the Tesla Australia website quotes power output at 460hp, the US quotes 510. The discussions in the main Model 3 page say the US cars are getting a US produced Panasonic 2170 (I think NCA) pack and the ROW will get a Korean LG 2170 (I think NMC) pack. The new...

2024 Model 3 Performance Announced - Discussion thread post announcement

    Supercharger - Raymond Terrace, NSW

Tesla can replace the charging ports for a fee so that the car can then use CCS2 cables. I can’t recall the price. A few here have done it, so they might chime in.

Gen 2 wall charger recording watts supplied

Some of the third party apps will track individual charging sessions and can calculate costs based on the site - home, whatever public charging location. you can also put the time of use cost schedule in for home. I have TezLab for this and it does it quite well. Many other functions. It is a...

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

I’m not sure 24.14 is out anywhere yet. I do have posts on the signs on 24.8.9 in a 2019 HW3 car

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

I did wonder about 24.14. You can’t see it on TeslaFi, Stats for Tesla or Teslascope in any of the cars using those services. You can certainly see the description on NotaTeslaApp. I think we might be a bit ahead of ourselves

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

The current iteration of the parking algorithm is the smoothest and surest it has been so far. The only other system I have used is the Audi one from 5 years ago. It was quite, teutonic, in its approach. I’d be interested in other comparisons

FWIW the Harwood Supercharger has been flooded at least once and got going again pretty fast. You could see the high water mark on the chargers for quite a while.

I have both Stats for Tesla and TezLab. TezLab is good for fine detail, including costs of charging and performance. Stats is good for comparing your car with the rest of the fleet.

Australian Model 3 Highland experiences, tips, tricks

The apps used to cause phantom drain by waking the car up, but now I’m pretty sure Stats for Tesla, TezLab, TeslaFi and Teslascope leave the car asleep. I haven’t noticed much phantom drain unless I have sentry on in a place that is fairly busy.

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

In the past there has been a connectivity issue between Tesla and Telstra that would bork the waking from sleep connection. It did go away after a day or two - presumably after their people spoke to their people.

    Evie EV charging networks

I had an email from Evie a couple of days ago. It nominated a $2.00 pre-auth, but said that that might change. It did say that it would take 1-3 days for the bank to reverse the pre-auth. The slowness of the reversal is the main irritation for me. I haven’t used their service yet. It does put me...

I get that feeling in the driver’s seat from time to time. I did get them to check it out and they tightened the bolts to spec. It is pretty rare now. Someone else suggested that replacing the bolts (by Tesla) was a fix. Might be worth a search in the wider forums on this site. As for range...

    Charge On Solar Australia

I’m hoping the software will develop to the point where we have some control over the charging logic. For my use case then it would be house -> Powerwall -> car up to my usual set limit if sunshine available. If the car isn’t charged when the sun goes down, then start charging from the grid on...

If the car thinks you are on a single carriageway and you are running autopilot then the car won’t exceed what it thinks is the speed limit. How it decides what counts as single carriageway is a bit unclear to me. I have had it not want to exceed 40 on a country highway because it saw a...
