Luton V4 "button" on plug does not work

But Broxden is Tesla only, old V2’s.

Luton V4 "button" on plug does not work

Used the old Perth (Broxden) chargers yesterday. Button on the cable opened the port to allow me to plug in and charge, but for the first time here the button on the cable did not stop charging and unlock cable at the end. Had to use the screen (MX) to unlock the charge port.

    Powerwall time if use setting

Actually bizarre as it sounds I think I gained an hour. My winter off peak runs from 2400 - 0500. But with the clocks going forward 0500 becomes 0600. So by leaving it on the winter times last night I started charging the PW plus both cars at 2400 but theoretically wouldn’t stop charging...

    Powerwall time if use setting

I have just tried to reset my utility rate plan on the Powerwall settings in the Tesla app as my cheap period has changed with the clock change to 0100 - 0600. Apparently there are no options between 0030 and 0200 so the best I can do is starting at 0200, thus losing an hour of cheap rate...

    [UK] 2024.8.x

Think yourselves lucky with all the changes .7 brings. The only change I see on my legacy MX, which got .7 a couple of nights back, is that the indicators are now just an arrow rather than an arrow in a circle, and I think that appeared on one of the previous updates. No comment on the wipers...

Good Friday - mobile service booked

My car died on Christmas Eve. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the local service centre (Aberdeen) was open between Christmas and New Year, unlike every other garage. The car was recovered to Tesla on Boxing Day and fixed for collection the day after New Years Day. Very impressed with...

Just a heads up that the service road at Tebay connecting the north to southbound areas will be closed on Monday 18th, Tuesday 19th and Wednesday 20th March from 6pm to 6am so no short cut access to the superchargers from the northbound M6. Folk heading north needing a charge at Tebay will have...

Finally getting second EV - any hints?

When I started looking round for a 500e for my wife my first port of call was our nearest Fiat dealer (Aberdeen). I was so disappointed with a) their obvious lack of knowledge about their products and b) their insistence on trying to sell me a vehicle they had in stock rather than with the...

Finally getting second EV - any hints?

Drew57 (post #5) could have written my response as he has said what I would say! We picked up our LaPrima 500e in Ocean Green (what a fantastic colour, is it blue or is it green?) almost exactly a year ago. We love it and it also shows 161miles at 100%. We purchased it from the Inverness...

We noticed that when we charged at Perth yesterday. Bizarrely I was monitoring availability both heading for Perth and whilst charging and it showed 9 available all the time. However apart from the 4 closed off (I suppose if they’re working but just blocked off they would show as being...

Thanks for that as I’ll probably need to use Newbridge again tomorrow on the way home. Luckily we were eastbound on the bypass but saw the horrendous west bound traffic. I actually said to my wife that I hoped nobody in that queue was hoping to charge at Newbridge. Glad you made it.

Charging at Newbridge (Edinburgh) this afternoon and all the chargers went down. Luckily I had enough to continue my journey but I note from various apps that it appears to be still down. So if anybody is planning on using Newbridge it may be worth checking availability beforehand.

    UK MXLR+ second hand considerations

I bought a new Raven MX Long Range (not the plus) in October 2019. It has been an excellent and well made car (it’s from the days when they were shipped in containers to Tilburg and reassembled there!) with very few issues. My battery degradation as far as I can tell is minimal. The only real...

Helvetia (& Tesla?) no longer offering extended warranties

Lucky I got in with extending my warranty last October. Never had any problems with the car until Christmas Eve. Failed HV battery coolant heater which was replaced no quibble under the Helvetia extended warranty for a grand total of £1600!! I probably would not have hung on to my car if I...

    Model X - Y : up or downgrade??

I’ve had my MX for over 4 years now. Being an oldie I have very sensitive eyes which dislike bright light intensely. However I have never had a problem with the MX windshield. I worry about breakage of the screen but not light in my eyes.

    Car on old firmware

My Legacy Raven MX (2019) seems to get all the updates very early on (not always a good thing). I got 44.30.1 a couple of days back and I’m currently installing 44.30.2 - release notes show bug fixes only.

Real world range is possible :-O

Did a 50mile drive yesterday in my legacy Raven MX up here in Aberdeenshire. Back roads only so no fast driving but heater on all the time and averaged 360w/mile - not too shabby for a big car.

    Powerwall has activated storm watch

That exactly what I did with the freezers - turned them off yesterday evening once my wife had finished raiding them, then put them back on for a couple of hours this morning. Haven’t worked out how to use the generator to charge the PW yet.

    Powerwall has activated storm watch

Powerwall has been brilliant. We still have the outage and the PW has been running all the light loads convenient for everyday living (lights, radios, TV’s, oil fired central heating, power shower etc and the odd kettle. Turned the freezers off overnight and put them back on for a couple of...

    Powerwall has activated storm watch

Thanks for that. I’ve already set up the generator to do most of the heavy duty stuff (cooking, dishwasher, kettle etc - luckily we have a load of low wattage stuff we use in the motorhome), unplugged the cars as I don’t want them charging from the PW but hadn’t thought about the freezers -...

    Powerwall has activated storm watch

Thanks for asking. Very heavy rain and high winds. Red alert doesn’t kick in until 6pm now so seems there is worse to come. So far we are ok although the SSEN power outage map shows lots of cuts around us - every time I look at the app there are more! Hunkered down indoors in front of the...

    [uk specific] Software 2023.32

Interesting figures there Chris. We’ve been over in Guernsey with the MX and charged at Tebay on the way north today to 90%. Reached Perth on 26% (via A701 Devils Beef Tub road). That’s with a 100kwh battery. Got the call to download 32.7 in Guernsey but haven’t done it yet so the trip was...

    Powerwall has activated storm watch

Our Powerwall has just told me it has activated storm watch and is now sitting fully charged until the forecast event is over (8pm Friday night). In App message Action: missing billing details - Cock up or Scam?

Solar Panels UK - is it worth it?

Since I had my Powerwall installed in April to complement the solar for which I am lucky enough to get FIT I have not used any peak time power. Powerwalls - I just don't get it.

I have had my Powerwall for the best part of 6 months and just leave it alone. The only settings I have input are reserve level and off peak charge times and tariff. [UK] Model S/X LHD Discussion

Sorry guys but I cannot believe that some of you in the UK are actually considering buying a LHD MS or MX at RHD prices! Tesla have royally screwed us over left right and centre and some of you are just going to lie down and take it. Just stop and think a bit about what you are doing -...

Tesla open up the SuC network [in UK]

Our most frequently made longish distance trip is a 600 mile round trip to Preston to check on aged FIL, probably once a month or so. [UK] Model S/X LHD Discussion

Here’s a thought. If they do actually cease to supply MS and MX to the RHD market over here will those of us who have been hanging on to our legacy vehicles waiting for the new ones to arrive actually have an appreciating asset / future collectors piece on our hands. The MX was only sold here...
