    Creaking noise

Had the same issue in our M3 a few months ago - loud creak from rear passenger side. Rear suspension upper control arm was replaced - but took a couple of months to get the part.

    MYP Vibration at 55-60+ MPH

I had the same issue when we were delivered our MYLR in December. Vibrations at 60mph+ rhythmic through steering wheel and the seat on the first few drives and very harsh suspension too. Booked it in to be rebalanced but the tech who test drove it said he couldn’t replicate and to see if it beds...

    Model Y UK Delivery

Already in production: - “Comfort” suspension - “Matrix” headlights (although not activated) Rumoured to come soon: - 5M cameras (none confirmed on any cars delivered yet) Unlikely to come from Shanghai: - Structural pack / 4680 The structural pack would need gigapress for the front end body...

Have you lost faith in Tesla?

That number is less than two weeks of production at Q4 rates so hardly a huge inventory going stale… The demand certainly has slacked off towards the end of the year as economic realities kick in across the world and the ‘Tesla stretch’ becomes increasingly unaffordable for most. Tesla have...

Have you lost faith in Tesla?

I took your suggestion and looked it up. Here is BMW’s official guide on how to do it. By my count there are 4 steps to get to actually inputting a destination. In a Tesla the destination search box is right there on the main screen. It is my opinion that BMW could learn a thing or two about...

Have you lost faith in Tesla?

Tried to locate a nearby charging station in a BMW iX recently and the menu system is an absolute nightmare! I’d have to disagree that it is better from an intuitiveness or usability perspective. Some features are cool, like the augmented reality nav, but overall I feel the UI is glitzy form...

    Footrest carpet problem

Mine had a flappy footrest appendage when it was delivered but a slight readjustment of the mat (lifting and pulling it back a little at the left corner) has made it sit properly ever since.

Tesla U.K. have closed all their front of house service teams and it’s absolutely baffling

You got an MOT done by Tesla? I thought that had been dismissed as unlikely ever to happen as they’d apparently have to offer MOTs to ICE cars as well. Would have saved me an afternoon if I had been able to get that done at same time as my last service visit…

Model 3 LR cold range city driving

What were you driving before? I just switched from a 38-50mpg diesel to a MYLR and only charge publicly and so far found the cost to be about half what I was spending before.

    Model Y UK Delivery

Had ours delivered at home this morning whilst I was at work. Have only inspected it in the dark this evening with the aid of a torch but no obvious issues so far 😁 Delivery driver surprised us a little as we didn’t get the 1 hour warning call that we had been expecting. Pleasantly surprised...

    Model Y UK Delivery

@AmauryLondon It’s supposed to calibrate as you drive. Maybe you haven’t driven it far enough yet? If you’ve had it a while then might need to restart the calibration - think this can be done from the service tab in the car settings.

    Q4 collections, tales and experiences

Your vin should show in the app just underneath your reservation number - otherwise it should be listed on your invoice. How did you find out it was registered in September?

How long should I keep my Model Y LR?

My understanding of company car EV perks was that the corporation tax write down benefit applies only on the depreciation. Selling at high value means you pay CT on the sale price. So for tax purposes running it into the ground is most economical.

    Early delivery of Model Y

If you aren’t ready for it you can easily put the delivery on hold for a date when you are ready. Had to do the same for our order when they said it would be available in September (3 months before I expected it).

    Tesla readies revamped Model 3

I have to agree on the comfort and refinement front for the M3SR+ We got one for my wife in 2019 as she had a job that involved commuting a couple of hundred miles a few times a week. The alternatives we looked at were the Volvo XC40 and the Mercedes GLC coupe. The Volvo interior was horribly...

    No home charging / WiFi

We’ve had a M3SR+ since November 2019 and are in a similar situation. Flat with no home charging and space too far away for WiFi. Charging - luckily we only live a mile away from a supercharger now so that is a convenient place to top up for 10-20 minutes on the way home a couple of times a...

    Supercharger price mismatch?

I got the old prices displayed initially but after a two steering wheel button restart the prices showed correctly for both peak and off peak (screen price matched bank statement). Hope that helps!

Happy for everyone receiving their deliveries this quarter! Drivers’ Drive Settings

That’s different to how it works in our car. Goes to Easy Entry automatically when we put the car in park so it moves the chair back and steering wheel up (position can be adjusted). It stays in that position until we get back in the car and press the brake pedal - normally selects the right...

Model 3 Rear Suspension Upper Control Arm Waiting Room

Hi, I am starting this thread to find out how many others are waiting for this suspension part. Tesla have told me there are 380 cars in the UK waiting for a rear upper control arm and can’t give me an estimate on how long the wait is. And whilst I’m waiting they have advised me not to drive...

Help - MYP or BMW iX

I guess it’s been a while since we got our M3 but at our handover we had a group class on getting to know the car, how to charge and how to pair our phone keys, etc. My diesel BMW app is working for one that I own, but we can’t create a new account for my mother for her iX which is something...

Help - MYP or BMW iX

In addition to my thoughts on the BMW iX above I have had a few more drives to formulate an opinion. Overall it’s not too bad, comfortable ride and the augmented reality sat nav is kinda cool. However I’ve found a major issue that I would find unacceptable - The app is completely...

Help - MYP or BMW iX

Have I been ripped off by KwikFit?

Sounds like a good price for OEM replacement Michelins! Our rear tyres needed replacing at 19k miles but the fronts are still going strong at 28k. If the tracking was out for the fronts then I think you probably got a reasonable deal 👍

Model Y standard range for UK - will it happen

I think the logic for SR using the 4680s at the moment is they have limited supply of cells as they haven’t yet ramped up to full scale manufacturing. Hence if you have few batteries but enough of all the other components then make cars with the smaller battery packs. And then only charge $3000...

Model Y standard range for UK - will it happen

https://www.google.com/amp/s/insideevs.com/news/579535/report-mit-tesla-modely-59990-price/amp/ Reports are coming out that the standard range Model Y will be the first new model out of Giga Texas. Pricing apparently will be $59,990 ($3000 less than the current price of LR). Any chance this...

    Too Cautious with Charging?

I was weaned on Teslabjorn’s 1000km challenge videos before we got our first Tesla. Like to aim to hit the supercharger as close to zero as I can to get those fast charge speeds! Can’t say my wife is always happy with it though… In all honesty there is no wrong choice, other than actually...

    Ride / sound comfort

We have a 2019 SR+ on 18inch wheels and find the ride to be pretty good compared to our BMW 640d Gran Coupe on 20inchers. Noise is also comparable, if anything quieter overall in the M3, depends on road surface though. The newer cars have double glazing in the front so I’d expect even better...

Home Charge Points Discussion and Suggestions [megathread]

And the Type 2 to Type 2 cable is capable of three phase charging, although the Model 3 SR+ that I have can only draw 11kw so I don’t think they have to be particularly heavy duty if you ever wanted to replace it with a longer one.

Model 3 rear seat comfort for adults on long journey.

I’m 6’2” and have sat in the back plenty of times keeping our 1 year old company in her car seat. Usually for 2 hour journeys. Never had a problem whilst on the move, tricky part for me is getting in and out! Floor could be lower but if there are only 2 in the back then just cross your feet and...

Creep mode, Am I the wrong one?

I can attest that hazard lights do come on automatically if you emergency brake. Handy feature as I’m not sure I’d have enough wits about me to remember them immediately in an emergency.

    Tesla Y wheel options

I am hoping they update the aero wheel to be all dark grey like for the 3, if they did then I wouldn’t bother with the 20inch wheels as I’d rather have the added range and comfort of the 19s What are the chances of that happening?

    18 inch tyre rotation

We recently got our tyres on our SR+ rotated at our local Tesla service centre for about £30. Had done 17k miles, fronts had 5mm and rears on 3mm so switched them round. No issues since. Think we could probably get at least another 5k before needing to replace them. Will go for stock Michelin...

Model 3 isofix, do you use inserts, or just squeeze between the cushions

We have a Cybex car seat that came with inserts, have used them most of the time as it just makes it a little easier to see where to push the connectors in but can do it without them. We’ve got the black interior and haven’t noticed any damage to the seat yet in the past 5 weeks that we’ve been...

    Giga Berlin update from Elon!

My interpretation of battery day was that there were several stages of cell improvement that would happen over the next 3 years. Making the cells bigger at 4680 and tabless seemed to be a problem they’ve solved. It was the dry battery electrode process that needed more refining and also the...

    Auto headlights behaviour changed?

Driving at night yesterday I noticed a very erratic and negative change in the behaviour of the auto high-beam assist on my M3. Lockdown

The truth is the virus has spread to all parts of the country. Locking down certain parts would likely see similar outcomes to Italy where people fled lockdown before if was enforced, defeating the purpose. Public Charging Only

I’m in exactly the same position as you. We have an SR+ and live in flats with no charge point at home. We use solely public charging with Polar plus which is very good in Nottingham and Derby with the local authority scheme being tied in. There are a good number of 50kw rapid chargers dotted...

Americans don't reverse? 'Into the void!' .

If the second reverse light is repurposed as a fog light then maybe turn on the rear fog light when reversing in the dark? This bugs me on our M3 also, the mirror dimming makes it an order of magnitude worse as they stay dark even when there is no other car that could possibly dazzle.
