Supercharger - San Diego, CA - Genesee Ave (LIVE 23 Jan 2023, 8 stalls)

Oh...then I withdraw my joke about the two strip malls being the same. I live really close to this new build. The parking lot on the front side of this strip mall is often full, and it's hard to navigate. However, behind those buildings is a big, wide open parking lot that's mostly empty...

Supercharger - San Diego, CA - Genesee Ave (LIVE 23 Jan 2023, 8 stalls)

Heh. Of course that strip mall is going to get superchargers. The are a carbon copy of the current strip mall across t street. One side has Blaze Pizza, the other has Pielogy. One side has Target, the other Kohl’s. One side has Five Guys, the other Habit. Walgreens/CVS, etc. That being said...

Infrastructure Bill to Invest $7.5B into EV Chargers Along Highways

Plus, they are required to be working... I think the bill requires at least 1 of the 4 chargers to have a 97% uptime.

Supercharger - San Diego, CA - Scripps Poway Parkway (LIVE 9 Nov 2021, 12 V3 stalls)

I'm 99% sure that we're getting 12 V3 superchargers at this site. (I double checked on Supercharge.info, but that might have been where I got the info from originally....) At this point, I think that pretty much all new Supercharger sites are V3, with a handful of small exceptions (ie. the...

    Squealing left rear wheel

Good call on the rock. After a bit of working on the backplate, a tiny rock fell out!

    Squealing left rear wheel

That’s what I thought, too. Drove it to a tire shop, and had my tires rotated. Asked the guy to help diagnose the sound and he said he only did tires and wouldn’t let me near the car while it was jacked up. 😢

    Squealing left rear wheel

Ugh. I’m on vacation about a hours away from my house. This morning, my model 3 started making a loud, high pitched squealing noise when driving. I’m not really sure what the problem is. I think it is a brake issue, but I’m not sure. (It doesn’t sound like a failing bearing, but I don’t know...

    Manually rolling up/down windows?

    That worked for me! Thanks!

    Manually rolling up/down windows?

Heh...I've actually closed the rear door successfully by closing it softly. The challenge is the front door... I'll try to take a picture of it, but the glass "touches" the chrome well before the door closes...

    Manually rolling up/down windows?

I have a 2018 LR Model 3 RWD. I've had good luck with it so far, however, this morning, the windows on the passenger side of the car stopped working. Hitting the window buttons (on either the driver's console or the individual windows does not do anything. (there are no sounds coming from the...

    DC charging at home?

Yea...there is no benefit to using that L3 adapter with a non-SR/SR+ Tesla. Basically, it plugs into a NEMA 14-50 outlet, and then provides the power to the car. With the exception of the SR-class model 3s, all Teslas can take in 40amps and charge at the full speed. However, if we like...

Supercharger - San Diego, CA - Balboa Ave. (LIVE 18 Nov 2020, 16 V3 stalls)

Just based on my experiences in the past with a V3 supercharger, I'd expect that it would start around 180kw, and slowly taper down. I typically get >100kw until my battery is about 55% full. (Granted, there are a million things that affect charging speeds...maybe my battery wasn't warm...

Supercharger - San Diego, CA - Balboa Ave. (LIVE 18 Nov 2020, 16 V3 stalls)

I’m charging now. There is one other person here, but the charging is slower than I expected. I was at about 30% charge when I arrived, plugged in and charged at about 130kw for a couple of minutes before it dropped to 90kw. There was one other car charging here, so it’s probably day one...

Supercharger - San Diego, CA - Balboa Ave. (LIVE 18 Nov 2020, 16 V3 stalls)

Tesla cars are gone...stalls are still wrapped. Maybe later today or tomorrow?

Supercharger - San Diego, CA - Balboa Ave. (LIVE 18 Nov 2020, 16 V3 stalls)

Don't bother. I drove through the lot a few minutes ago. There is no transformer (I thought I saw it there when I drove by this morning, but maybe I was just hoping it was there :-) ) . There was a Tesla team there with a model Y, apparently testing some things, but without a transformer...

Supercharger - San Diego, CA - Balboa Ave. (LIVE 18 Nov 2020, 16 V3 stalls)

I drove by this morning. It looks like the transformer is in, and there appeared to be a Tesla employee testing the chargers. I wasn't able to get photos (something about paying attention to driving), but I'll try to swing by soon to see if it's open..

Supercharger - San Diego, CA - Balboa Ave. (LIVE 18 Nov 2020, 16 V3 stalls)

I'm pretty sure the transformer goes on the pad that is pictured in IMG_1868 above. I'll swing by the area later this week to hopefully see it in :-)

Supercharger - San Diego, CA - Balboa Ave. (LIVE 18 Nov 2020, 16 V3 stalls)

Not a lot of visible progress this week. They've started landscaping around the super chargers, but more asphalt needs to be laid, and the transformer isn't in.

Supercharger - San Diego, CA - Balboa Ave. (LIVE 18 Nov 2020, 16 V3 stalls)

A lot of progress has been made. Most of the equipment is in, but it's missing a transformer. Hopefully the project keeps progressing forward...

Supercharger - San Diego, CA - Balboa Ave. (LIVE 18 Nov 2020, 16 V3 stalls)

More progress is happening! The first 4 stalls are in, as well as the supercharger cabinets!

Supercharger - San Diego, CA - Balboa Ave. (LIVE 18 Nov 2020, 16 V3 stalls)

In the city of San Diego? No. However, the supercharger in Chula Vista (South San Diego county) is a V3 supercharger.

Supercharger - San Diego, CA - Balboa Ave. (LIVE 18 Nov 2020, 16 V3 stalls)

Construction continues. Progress has been made...a pad has been laid (for the super charger cabinets, I presume...)

Here is a photo I took this morning. Construction is progressing.

Supercharger - San Diego, CA - Balboa Ave. (LIVE 18 Nov 2020, 16 V3 stalls)

When it opens, there will be a ton of food options. It's not super convenient to any freeway, but it's fairly close to the 5, 805, 52 & 163. However, if you need to charge for ~30-ish minutes, your eating choices are mainly fast-food chains, but still lots of options

Supercharger - San Diego, CA - Balboa Ave. (LIVE 18 Nov 2020, 16 V3 stalls)

Construction has started! It appears that it will be located at the north east part of the parking lot, close-ish to CVS.

Supercharger - San Diego, CA - Balboa Ave. (LIVE 18 Nov 2020, 16 V3 stalls)

This specific supercharger is across the street from the Target. (Target is on the North East Corner of the Balboa/Genesse intersection, and the permit is for the South East corner.) (I'm not sure if you were just mentioning Target for the Escondido/Vista locations, or if you mis-remembered...
