Tesla Light Show: Custom Show Creation

I have coded the lights to "Together in Electric Dreams" !! This is a lovely feature and I'm just working on the windows up and down because it has the effect of muffling the higher frequencies on the tune you're playing. Until coding this, I didn't realise the complexity of the front light...

    Audi going for broke...

Affordability and cars. They are built like this to sell credit, the car is just the asset based to sell loans. It's no coincidence that the credit arms of the big manufacturers make all the money and the manufacturing parts of the organisation barely make a profit. It's kind of interesting...

    LTE location locale for youtube?

Does your model 3 think it is Portuguese as well? If you use Netflix, YouTube, Google - mine appears to think it is in Portugal. Is this something I've done or is it using a Portuguese SIM provider?

    Ceramic Coating Advice

I used Meguires Ceramic Wax. £16 from Halfords or Amazon. There's a bit of prep required but the outcome had been very good (I hate washing cars). Water just beads and falls of car, cleaning appears to be very easy. I agree with someone above, a lot of the ceramic coatings are overpriced crap...

UK accessories for RHD Model 3 [megathread]

Meguires ceramic wax works amazingly. I actually hate cleaning cars and can't be arsed with detailing etc, but I used this stuff and it's amazing. I gave the car quick clean yesterday after applying the ceramic stuff and it got rid of the salt etc from daily commute fast more quickly than usual.

    How accurate is your TPMS

I swapped onto my winter tyres on the M3 today, 18" Aero. I checked with a few different pumps that read 50psi but the TPMS indicators were reading 42psi as per spec. I know that many pumps are inaccurate, but is TPMS more trustable?

    Changing our shoes

It's a bit much to carry around, but if anyone has a non scissor jack solution, let me know! I have winter tyres installed plus I ceramic coated the wheels. All was relatively straight forward.

    Private number plates

I got a Tesla issued plate and I transferred my plate (kinda reads VOLTS) when the V5c came in. You can do the cherished plate transfer online nowadays. New V5c arrived in a few days. LV insurance notified by phone, new insurance docs came in email 19 mins later.

    Changing our shoes

I'm adding this to prove that it does not work. Whilst the mato bottle jack is small and low, it is too low. I tried using a wedge but the jack don't have enough lift and I wasn't going to kick away the wedge incase I got the bottle jack stuck underneath. Thanks for the tip about the wolf...

    Changing our shoes

Update on the Mato bottle jack. With the puck, it's 1cm too tall which is very annoying because on paper, it should have fitted! Plus, both my trolley jacks were too tall. So I'll pop it up on wedges and change to the winters today but have just ordered the wolf 2.5T trolley jack. I think...

Also, after a week of autopilot I've only just realised that using the parking brake button to disengage is a very bad idea and you are meant to move the stalk upwards!!! I kerbed an alloy...

    Questions about EST

I got a small EST loan through my company. They paid the money to my business bank account about 5 dates after my first final invoice. I did send them the other final invoices (all 5 of them) but it didn't seem to matter. Tesla and EST seem quite well acquainted.

    Changing our shoes

I won't use scissor jack's again after I had one catastrophicly collapse losing the end of my finger last year when putting winters on my wife's car. Changing our shoes

This is a low profile 4 tonne Jack. It's all a bit tight, but it is 12.5cm tall and the M3 with 18's is about 16cm from the ground/puck. The 18" wheel profile is 10cm but a flat tyre would never go to zero. I've got some plastic wedges used for leveling a camper van. Might just throw one of...

    Edinburgh

Picked up from Edinburgh on Thursday. 40+ model 3's all lined up waiting for owners. Guys there said it was the "same last week". I only got my number plate (which they thought was hilarious because it is reads SLOW) so I had to book insurance when I was there. Also, my own numberplate could...

    Changing our shoes

I'm currently experimenting with a 4 tonne bottle style jack. My winter wheels arrived the other day for the M3 and will change them over at the end of Nov - although I was driving in heavy snow on Thursday night in the Highlands. The bottle jack will fit in the frunk or lower boot space. My...

    Winter Shoes [tyres]

My M3 winter 18" tyres arrived before the car! I've always used winters (I am a skier/boarder) - the biggest benefit is tyre rotation every 6 months. Although the 18" winter package has directional tyres which will limit the rotation possibilities. The manmaths is that losing a couple of days...

Model 3 long range vs performance query

The reason that the 2 models are the same in the video is environmental, likely to do with traction and grip rather than Tesla fiddling with power numbers. Both cars reached the maximum grip at the same time. Remember that 0-60 times will have been recorded at a drag strip that has a...

    Business mileage expense rates?

For those getting 4p/mile etc, you can claim a tax advantage of 45p - 4p per mile as a tax rebate against your tax. Obviously, you'll have to fill in a form to do this but you'll end up being paid for it. So, if you do 10,000 miles your tax claim will be £4100. If you pay tax at 40% then this...
