Tesla just disabled my supercharging on my M3. I‘ve owned it for the past 18 months, and have used supercharging several times with no issues. Retroactively removing features of value from a vehicle that is not owned nor in their possession seems suspect.

Wish I had known about that Etsy mount when I did my garage. I MacGyvered my mobile connector electronics in it to my ceiling, but this would’ve been a much more elegant solution.

ceiling is the way to go! Everything is out of the way, and retractor cord pulls the cable up and out of the way when not in use. I put in a 240v outlet and use the mobile connector.

My money is on the dc to dc converter. if that’s what it is, they should be able to swap it out and should not have any long term implications for your car. Let us know what they find.

Yeah, not a big deal to just replace it. Not different than an ICE vehicle. I walked into NAPA auto parts with the dead battery, they had a replacement in stock. Period. took me about 4 minutes.

dang. That is one of the worst examples of panel gap/misalignment I’ve seen. I do find these threads helpful. While I don’t appreciate many of the defects people highlight in pictures, a few noteworthy examples (like the above) stand out. Helps inform me as a buyer.

Just swap out the battery yourself. You need a 10 mm socket and about 10 minutes to do it.

That looks like the connector that plugs into one of the ultrasonic sensors in the rear bumper cover. you could try and test that, by throwing the car in reverse and having somebody hold an object close to the left lateral sensors and seeing if the vehicle detects the object.

sounds like you are hearing the contactors close. When the high-voltage systems come on, the contactors close, resulting in a “thunk” sound that emanates from underneath the rear seats. Yes, it is normal.

I also agree. One month of service for a vehicle you’ve owned for only slightly more than that is a lot of headache to endure. So sorry this happened.

Can you reference a large scale survey on this subject? I’d be interested in reviewing one if it exists. That is really discouraging. Keep us posted, and sorry you are having so much trouble with the vehicle. I am really curious what gremlin they uncover as the root cause.

My god! His car is actually appreciating in value. That is a quality that may well be worth $82K! It only took 10 days for the asking price to go up $6K. By my calculations, after 100 days the car will be worth an additional $60K!

got my windshield replaced at safelite, but had to wait a week for them to get the glass from the Tesla dealership. Has Steve said, I didn’t have any problems with the cameras. They didn’t mess with them, and I didn’t need any sort of recalibration after the windshield replacement.
