Just parked my Tesla model S in my garage and left the key on the front passenger seat by accident. Just as the handles were closing, I remembered the key and reached for the handle. Too late! Thought "oh, thats ok. I'll just push the handle and open the door". No. The car apparently did...
Just had the ranger come and fix my rear non-working handle. He just replaced the pressure sensor. Said that it is unfortunately rather common. I asked him about the new handles that have more movement, and he said that he is 90% sure that it will be a software update. He stated that all the...
Thanks William13, Appreciate the response. I gotta say that when people ask me (and this is all the time) about my Tesla, my response is still always an unequivocal "hooray!". I am happy to be a "Tesla Ambassador. It is sorta frustrating though when I am reminded at times that I am also a...
I was looking through the thread and didn't see much on the doors… I have a problem with my right rear passenger door. The handle comes out normally along with all the others, but I cannot open the door using it. If I open the door from the inside, it works fine. But it won't open from the...

Why?
WHat does that mean?

The DIP switches solved the problem.
No, the installation went fine. He had to run the line approximately 100 feet under the house (crawl space) from the main panel and then approximately 20 feet from the Tesla subpanel to the controller...
Thanks MitchL, Banahogg and Clmazin! I was ignorant enough to think my electrician would read directions… I had unrealistically left the work up to the guy who charged me $2500 to run the line and install the charger… He had not read or tested. I took it apart, read the directions, and now it...
Never quite understood the twin charger thing, but yes I did buy that option. So - that said - I'll give them a call in the morning… Although I have successfully used the superchargers...
Just had my electrician put in a 100 amp circuit and install my HPWC. plugged it in and cannot get the car to charge above 40. I manually moved it to 80 and it immediately bumped back down to 40. anybody got some ideas?
4.3 update!!
Just got the latest update… we now have the ability to choose the time of charging! It is also connected to the GPS so it is location dependent! That was THE BIG update for 4.3. Nothing much else… but something we have all been waiting for...
I deserve to feel stupid. hahaha.
Regarding bringing the UMC charger, I decided when I first got the car that I would always bring my cable and all the attachments on all road trips… just in case.
So what I have gathered from this so far is that I need to drive at somewhere between 55 and 65 mph on the 70 mph speed-limit freeway with my heater and a/c off to reliably make it past 200 miles using my car with an EPA of 265.
Just got back from a trip from Davis, CA to Long Beach, CA. My first real test of the range… First, I will say… I made it! With that said, I must be doing something wrong. The range is not what I expected, and I am not sure how it can be made better reasonably. Here’s the story...
I have found a way to have the P85 logo created for addition to our cars (perhaps on the trunk for proper "badging"). Unfortunately, I have to order a large number and will need to have others interested as well. Please give me some feedback to let me know it this will be feasible… It would...
Thanks for the info on alloy gators aaronw. Looks promising! Unfortunately, won't save what I already messed up,but looks like they look great and may save me later...
It's gouged pretty good - and about half way around. I'll go get a photo of it and post it. I could bare to take photos before ...

Here it is. The photo doesn't do it justice
I'm in Northern California and have found some great guys at Wind Earth and Solar. Specifically Roy is my contact. Doubt they are in the north east, but may have suggestions. Roy is incredibly knowledgable. Also, check their web site. They have various structure they put the solar on ... Not...
Thanks for the feedback. It's been a week, and I still vividly remember the horrible grinding sound each time I walk up to my poor wheel. I was thinking of trying to mammoth it some and get some touch up from tesla (so they sell it yet?). But you think that's a bad idea Jerry33? I figured I had...
Aaaarrgh! My wheel!!
Had my S in San Francisco this weekend and stayed at the Mark Hopkins. Checked in at the front and drove it down to the lot to the charger. They have this ridiculous narrow curvy drive down from the valet. I am having trouble with feeling the width of this car. There is a...
Saw another S while driving around
I am one of very few model S owners in the Sacramento area, and was driving across the causeway a couple of days ago. What a nice surprise to see another owner drive up next to me!! We are a small group of people these days and I feel that we are...
when I went to the Tesla factory and picked up my car, I asked about the personal delivery charge of $990 The delivery specialist stated that it was like most other cars in that it was a "destination charge" and was added to all the new cars. I accepted that until some of the things I've been...
just got my MODEL S and love it However have noticed distortion at the bottom 1 inch of the windshield has anyone else noticed this? Seems odd ... was thinking it might be the coating they put on it has caused this?
