New AutoPilot is horrible after update

I have a different take on this. I have used AP strictly as a backup in case I miss something since I bought my model S in 2017. I have no problem with Tesla ensuring I am actively engaged, but the implementation is simplistic and amateurish. The last change has required I pay even more...

    Best 19 tires replacement

Thanks for the additional information - not that I'd want to make use of it, but I just got off the phone with Michelin and they mentioned that Michelin has a 60 day Satisfaction Guarantee program - which removes the risk of getting stuck.

    Best 19 tires replacement

Approximate W/Mile? When you say efficiency is a little worse, are you comparing to the Michelin Energy when new, or when they were at the end of life? I had noticed a noticeable loss in range when I initially switched between OEM (Eagle Touring) to Pilot Sport A/S 3+, but that difference...

SolarEdge inverter F-L1 Max1 error (exceeds max frequency) with Powerwall 2

We have seen our SolarEdge 10 KW (SE10000H) go offline for a brief period twice in the last few days. The inverter is connected to 3 PowerWalls which was installed April 2020. The inverter error code in both cases was "F-L1 Max1" which, from what I've read, indicates the AC frequency seen by...

Dumping Excess Power During Peak Period

Just repeated the process, but this time, dragged the handle to the 2 am, and back to the left without letting go.

Dumping Excess Power During Peak Period

The PWs are now powering the house load from 4 pm through 12:00 am. Thanks for all the suggestions and help

Dumping Excess Power During Peak Period

Thanks. I’ll try redoing the 12 am set point, and if that doesn’t work, set the end time to something like 1 am.

Dumping Excess Power During Peak Period

Seems like an undesirable limitation to limit moving past 11:30 pm. Is this a documented thing, or observation?

Dumping Excess Power During Peak Period

The consumption level and production have been within 5 KWh over the last few days. Weather had been fairly consistent outside (within 10 degrees outside, and less that 5l degree variance in the garage where the PWs reside. I changed the Price Schedule in "Cost Saving" a couple days ago. I...

Dumping Excess Power During Peak Period

Understand there could be a minute here or there, but the grid is fully supplying the house load for each of the 5 minute sub period during 11:30-12:00 timeframe. This has been repeatable over multiple days - attached image is portion of the data dump for the 25th. .

Dumping Excess Power During Peak Period

Should be able to satisfy the house demands with 29 KWh left in the PWs, and reserve set for 20%. Running with 3 PWs.

Dumping Excess Power During Peak Period

I have looked at the data, and the PowerWall is not providing power during the 11:30-12:00 timeframe even though I have it set to peak period from 4:00 - 12:00. Is this a known issue, or config problem on my end?

Dumping Excess Power During Peak Period

Thanks - That should work for what I want at this time - Just trying to see if numbers match up with our utility usage reports, utility meter and inverter logs. Can you change the granularity?

How do you download the data? The app, or from somewhere else? Thanks

Dumping Excess Power During Peak Period

Is there any way to export the "Energy Usage" numbers (Sub menu from Power Flow)? This area, displays the "Home Usage", Solar Energy (totals), From Grid, and From PowerWall (supplied to house during peak period when configured for Cost Savings). What I don't see is how much solar power is...

Dumping Excess Power During Peak Period

There is value to the utility to have PWs storing energy and releasing during high demand periods. Whether it makes financial sense at the ~$.45 rate is another matter. But, there is value (to some degree), and should be compensated at some premium. One could question whether it makes sense...

Dumping Excess Power During Peak Period

Thanks, good to hear - do you have a link to this change, or words to do a Google search?

Dumping Excess Power During Peak Period

Thanks for your response. We produce excess power in the range of 30-50 KWh in a given day - I would like to send most of this excess to the grid and choose the timing when the grid has it's highest demand - irregardless to whether it was produced during the off peak period. Seemed like this...

Dumping Excess Power During Peak Period

Just had the PW2 installation completed on Tuesday, and have it configured for "Cost Saving". I had been told I would be able to dump PW excess power to the grid during peak periods, by setting the "Reserve for Power Outages", and the "Price Schedule" (Off Peak, Shoulder and Peak). The PWs...

    Looking at installing Powerwall system

Yes, it is a geo thermal heat pump. We installed horizontal loops, but you could always go vertical. I take your point on Tesla’s warranty position. Thank you for that perspective. We’d have to have a mechanical failure to hit the LRA level, and FLA has a N/A listed. I could accept a PWs trip...

    Looking at installing Powerwall system

Thank you for this input - we may just go with three to avoid the potential issue. It could be possible the startup currents are high, but these are variable speed compressors which are controlled by varying the frequency. There is some latency in the displayed status on the phone, but when I...

    Looking at installing Powerwall system

Good to hear it’s in use! We are hoping to get by with 2 PWs, as they could easily fit under a couple of windows in garage. A 3rd PW would be a little more effort to find a home. That would deliver 10 KW (+ 4 KW surge).

    Looking at installing Powerwall system

Thank you for the information. Have you implemented the PWs, or still in planning stages. We do have access to hourly meter data. I feel comfortable sizing the PWs from a reserve power standpoint, but couldn’t, with 100% confidence, know we wouldn’t exceed max current limit. There are a few...

    Looking at installing Powerwall system

Thank you for quick response. This info could allow me to include some circuits that can be managed manually (by myself), where their total power load could exceed PWs capacity - For example, turning on well’s pressurizer pump, but doing this when oven range, or entrance gates are not being...

    Looking at installing Powerwall system

I’m looking at getting two or three Powerwalls. I have an existing solar installation, so just trying to understand the pieces and interconnections. It looks like Tesla’s standard approach is to split out the “essential” circuits from lower priority circuits. One of the scenarios, I’m...
