    2017 Investor Roundtable:General Discussion

Does the roof cost include installation? If not, I suspect that would add some significant costs-- I doubt a local roofer can install these.

    Minivan or MS... Can't decide!

What about the Pacifica Hybrid? It's a plug in and should get 30 electric miles, so useful for short trips (in town) and 30mpg on the hwy.

    Private Model 3 Viewing

If anyone has an extra spot, let me know as I'm very interested (and in the Bay Area). Can provide transport (from peninsula/ South Bay) and/or beverages afterward :)

    Water Stain on Headliner

Obviously, meant to write that "I would *not* expect this from any car less than 10 years old."
  5. S

    Water Stain on Headliner

I'm surprised that they didn't goodwill this... the car isn't that old and you didn't do anything to cause this. I would expect this from any car less than 10 years old.

    Help, A-Pillar Defect Found

On the one hand, I'm glad you caught this. On the other hand, what would have happened if the crack wasn't visible but beneath the hood? Not fun to contemplate.

    Help, A-Pillar Defect Found

@Snowstorm-- kudos to you for being so patient and calm. I would be more than a little upset, but Tesla seems to do the right thing and there should be no question here that a new car is in order.

    Help, A-Pillar Defect Found

Ugh... that's just awful. It really shouldn't fall on a customer to catch these types of things. Sounds like QC has to happen more rigorously, rather than by the customer in delivery day.

    Model 3 Mule Sightings

That trunk looks nonexistent.... for anyone at the reveal-- is it really that tiny?

    Model S and Model 3

Somehow they need to figure out what other manufacturers have figured out... how to have a lineup that doesn't compete with itself. BMW and Mercedes don't seem to have a problem selling 3-series / C-class alongside 5-series / E-class cars. The overlap between these isn't trivial, but the size...

Tesla Model S CPO Website - Now Live

I don't see the ones for 43k on the tesla site. Do you have links? What do you think is a good price for a CPO P85? I'm looking for a cheap one with parking sensors (among other options; so 2014 and newer).

Beautiful! Why did you decide no sunroof? Also, was getting the 21s easy?

HELP: CPO 85 or New 75D?

Was this car listed on the public site, or found by CPO advisor?
  16. S

Tesla Model S CPO Website - Now Live

Wow, that's tremendous. But for a ~4 year old car (with 60kwh) that feels about right. Given all of the recent advancements, these cars (2013s) are a few generations behind. (Not saying they are bad--- just that this pricing makes more sense).

    Software update this morning AP2!!!!.....NOT

Quick question-- so if you don't sign up for AP2, do you not get auto-headlights? Or is this update for everyone with AP2 hardware?

    Front window not closing properly

Kind of crazy that regular windows are on issue-- shouldn't be anything especially difficult for these. Hopefully newer builds are less prone to this issue.

Tesla Model S CPO Website - Now Live

very odd pricing pattern for sure. One thing I've wondered is if the impending $2K price increase on the MS60 (scheduled for 11/22) effectively allows them to raise / support prices on CPO vehicles.

    100d is coming soon

I just want the model X seats available on all levels of the Model S (not just P90/100 levels).
  21. S

    The reasonably* priced Model S

Wow. That's interesting-- I had previously thought only the size of the pack (60->75) was software limited (well and AP) and could be unlocked for a fee. I didn't know you could turn off a motor.
  22. S

    The reasonably* priced Model S

Congrats... but what do you mean the D is software limited and that you can turn it into RWD?

Any baya area 'end of quarter' purchasers looking to insall a NEMA 14-50 outlet?

Can you PM me his info? I don't need anything yet, but later this quarter or early next year. Thanks.

Ultra White seats in Design Studio

Relatively new (past 3 weeks or so)... looks like they are moving to have the same seats across X and S (not just color, but design too). Wish they were available across the S line... probably just a matter of time.

Little left to choose from - Q3 profitability goal met?

Seems really odd... not only is inventory non-existent on the website, but pre-owned too. Despite the discounts, these are still expensive cars. I have a hard time believing they sold all of them that quickly (though that would be awesome for their Q3 and year-end goals!). I suspect they want...

Little left to choose from - Q3 profitability goal met?

Yeah, but if they are local to you they should offer them for sale... I never got the impression that they only wanted to sell a certain number of cars. Perhaps going to a showroom a tesla person could share what is available locally....?

Bought new S 75D yesterday after tesla yesterday firesale overnight -$7500

on tesla.com, it looks like there are only 4 Model S available...? I know this isn't right, but it's confusing.

    Model X Review

OP-- presumably, if you could only choose one to complement your odyssey, it would be the X...?

    Model X Review

Thanks for writing this up-- very useful info. We have an Odyssey too and when I test drive the X, I noticed both the blind spots and how dependent I've become on the side-view camera.

    New (S60D) vs CPO (P85)

I've been on the fence for a while, but now getting really close. I'd be interested in comments and thoughts from the community on these two choices. Pros/cons as I see them below: P85 pros: Cheaper (seeing some of these <$60k) Power RWD Likely to have most issues sorted out (drivetrain, 12v...

Just pulled trigger on a showroom 75D

Seems like a good deal and part of the end of quarter push... basically 75Ds are going for 60D prices (or just marginally higher). It's very odd that most of the inventory is either premium or pano, but very few with both. AP and 75kwh are not surprising... as someone else noted, they just...

Tesla Model S CPO Website - Now Live

Does anyone know if they still have pre-owned card that aren't on the website? Or is everything on the site now? The advisor I was working with just sent me a link to the pre-owned site when I inquired about other CPOs.

My quick impressions of Model X

They have one on the floor of the Stanford showroom and I stopped by yesterday... it was also a 7 seater. I agree the third row is really haunting... I couldn't imagine sitting there for more than 10 minutes. Removing the middle seat from the second row should help immensely. It would be...

This Is The Model 3 Pre-Order Gift

I reserved on 3/31 at noon @ Fremont. They had 20+ computers set up and despite the early deluge (I saw the line at 8am), there was no line by the time I got there. Still haven't received anything. Hopeful, but not sure I'll get the print.

Tesla Model S CPO Website - Now Live

Just curious (and not to derail this thread but...), did you consider buying a new S60... seems like with a few options (seats, pano, premium) you can get one in the low $60k-range after tax credit. Not as much performance but a much newer build and can add AP and 15kwh later if needed.
  43. S

Announcement of new Model S June 9th

From a pricing perspective, this is how I see it too-- effectively a price hike on the 70/75 models. Initially, I was frustrated with this, but on further reflection seems like a good strategy to allow more people in at lower price of entry (60kwh) with optional upgrade later.

    Short-Term TSLA Price Movements - 2016

The event seemed odd... Almost like they had nothing to discuss, so they swing the other direction and rehashed the entire company history for two hours. I really wanted to hear (and perhaps I missed it) how they are going to get the Model 3 done and the first ones rolling off the line in the...

    Short-Term TSLA Price Movements - 2016

Thanks... but didn't he also say 100k-200k vehicles produced in the second half of 2017? So even if we go with low estimates (allowing for delays, etc), say 100K vehicles, that means over 5.5K vehicles a week (18 weeks). They are at < 2k/week today. I think they have to be building these in...

    Short-Term TSLA Price Movements - 2016

I didn't catch all of the earnings call, so apologies if this was covered but... how in the world does this ramp happen in the stated timeframe? 7/1/17 is 14 months away, and while that's just to hold "feet to the fire", is it even technically feasible? Let's assume the markets remain open and...
