No Problem! I think you are worrying over nothing - everything I've seen and from what I've heard talking to the Service Rep is they take every step necessary to return the vehicle to the condition it was in when it left the factory - the only bad thing is they will remove things the new owner may want. While I understand the liability/warranty issues around that, just seems like a waste. He told me that the techs drool when they see a trade come in with the $2,000 radar detector system built in, knowing that it has to be removed - guess where it ends up??? ... Ever wonder how lots of Techs have top of the line equipment in their cars? LOL

Service on both of my vehicles has been equally outstanding from the service center in Blue Ash - I don't think you will have any problems with the service.

Anyway, Keith at Clear Bra Ohio talked me through several options and instead of just selling me stuff over the phone, he wanted to actually see the car before making final recommendations. When I got the vehicle and took it to him, he was impressed with the condition the paint was in and all we ended up doing was the Xpel film. He was able to point out a couple fitment issues with the bumper that I would have never noticed - So I had the service center address those on the first service visit. He also noticed a couple of scratches i put in the paint of my new car and removed those before applying the Xpel to that one. He then gave me an education on how to properly wash/dry the car - I had been doing it all wrong all these years! The method he taught me is much quicker and easier and gets great results without scratching the paint!

I did the same Xpel treatment for both cars:
  • Full front bumper/nose cone
  • Headlights & Fog Lights
  • Partial hood/fenders
  • Mirrors
  • Rear bumper/trunk area (to protect the bumper when putting things into/out of trunk)
  • Door Handle inserts (to protect from fingernail scratches when opening doors)

Here's a pic of the finished product. Let me know if you want to see pics of the installation process - I took pictures throughout the process.

@myblubu,

Very informative! Thank You! Great to hear this as Blue Ash will be my Delivery SC, it's about 100 miles away. I was nervous about that because I've read varying stories on differences in CPO prep dependent on the SC and how many CPOs and deliveries they get through a particular SC in prep quality and experience, some good some bad. I stopped in there, great folks.....however there were basically no cars on the lot except for one. (They had a MC red S70 and a Blue X on the floor inside).
So this made me nervous in thinking it was a ghost town of a SC with not much traffic. But you assuage my fears with your quality SC CPO restore and prep.
Also is Keith and Clear Bra in Cincinnati or up by you in Dayton? I'll definitely be looking him up for mine. Would love to see your photos you mentioned!:)

Cool! Jon Woodrey is the service rep that I have dealt with at Blue Ash. He's awesome, he personally checks out my car before its returned to make sure everything is perfect.

Clear Bra Ohio is in the Cincinnati area, it's in Fairfield, not far from the Tri County Mall. So it's maybe 15-20 minutes from Blue Ash SC. I'm in Dayton, so it's a little drive for me, but worth it to me. I'll try to post the pics of the Xpel installs when I get in tonight.

I have noticed the fluctuations in the number of cars on hand at Blue Ash SC, sometimes lots, other times few. I know they sold about 40 cars in the last couple weeks so the lot wasn't packed with cars there when we stopped in to see our new 90D when it arrived Friday.

DId you get your deposit back?

I went in today to test drive a 85 and P85, as I had a couple choices I was ready to buy. Decided to to spring for the P85 Metallic Blue with tan interior in New England that's been on the website for a month....and of course no longer there....DOH! It was there last night....oh well.....but then my CPO guy found me a comparable one not listed at Tesla's website....2013 P85 Metallic Gray, Black Performance Leather, Air Suspension, Pano, Sound Studio Package, Rear Facing Seats, Yacht Floor, Carbon Fiber Spoiler, 40k miles, 56k......I told them not to wreck this one now...

Here's the pics of the Xpel being applied. They are in a Photobucket folder, a few pics of both the Titanium 90D and the Grey P85.

Seriously? I was watching that one too! Then the blue one with black interior in Cleveland disappeared as well. Double-DOH!

Thanks for the pictures myblubu. I wrote Keith earlier today but haven't heard anything back. I'll give him a call in a few days if I don't hear from him by then.
I know they were really busy today since I called to try to get my 90D squeezed in tomorrow. If you wrote, he my respond in the evenings. But you can text him anytime for a quick response *cell number of tech removed by moderator

Does anyone know if they still have pre-owned card that aren't on the website? Or is everything on the site now?

The advisor I was working with just sent me a link to the pre-owned site when I inquired about other CPOs.

Some advisor's work harder than others and are willing to put in a little effort to check their internal system. Others are just lazy/clueless/unhelpful and will just tell you to check their site...

I was told by my CPO advisor that they were trying to get everything on the web site. Then jeepn30 tells us he just snagged one with a CPO advisor (or someone at his SC) after missing out on one from the web site.

What gives?

There's still an inventory of vehicles that are not on Tesla's public site. Not sure why they do this, but they do. I'll find out today, as I was invited to the local service center to check out an "inventory sale". This may be just a ploy from my OA (who hasn't been terribly helpful compared to others), but I won't know until I go...

Please post back on any deals on any inventory vehicles when you check.

I agree. Every list that Richard gave me always had tons of vehicles not on the site. He was able to give me lists with specific options also - there were 'must have' options that I needed to be on the cars I considered, so he filtered out all of the ones I wouldn't consider also. If you don't have an advisor that's willing to put in the work, you could give him a call/email - I posted his contact info in a previous post.

Looks like I shouldn't have posted the number. But if you need it just let me know and I'll PM it to you. Sorry if I broke any forum rules, unintended if so...

Hi all,

I'm new here... On Thursday, Aug. 25, I test drove a new Model S at my local SC. After the drive, I asked to see CPO listings and the sales guy showed me far more listings than had been showing up on the CPO search online. One of them was a blue S60 with just the right options and 41XXX miles, at what I thought was a reasonable price. It would need to be transported for $750. I asked him to send me the VIN for that and another listing, and figured I had a few days to think about it.

The next evening, Friday Aug 26, I ran another search on the Tesla CPO site and discovered that the Blue S60 was now showing up in results, priced $250 higher than what I'd seen at the SC (close enough). After a sleepless night, I got up the next morning and put my $1,000 deposit on it, out of excitement mixed with fear that somebody else would snap it up.

So now I'm awaiting my mid-year 2013 S60 with Pano, Tech Package, and rear-facing seats. I'm told it's being transported this weekend, but hasn't yet undergone the full inspection/certification/reconditioning process, so that will take place at my local SC. Been reading up a ton here and can't wait to take delivery, hopefully by the end of the month.

Congrats! Looks like there have been only two S60s with Tech package and pano roof that sold for just a little less that that (and neither had rear facing seats), so looks like a pretty good deal if it's the car I think it is. My car is only 2000+ VINs away from that car, so even though it's an early VIN, you should be worried about quality, etc. And after 41k miles, any bugs should have been worked out. Welcome to the club!!

Awesome FlipB! Keep us posted on your delivery. I'm hopeful to be able to land a CPO sometime in the near future, not too far away from you as I'm in Springfield.

Thanks, good luck! We lived in West Springfield for 10 years before moving to Annandale in 2015. Let me know if you want the contact info of the CPO specialist I'm dealing with -- he's based in Georgia but covering Mid-Atlantic for the time being.

Don't leave us hanging :). What's the price? Lucky duck!
