    Model Y Quality Issues Poll

3k VIN. Just had a nasty paint scratch (probably from transport), some misalignment, and some rattles. Your regular Tesla experience at this point. Most rattles have been fixed by mobile and am still actively watching out (err, listening?) for them. Especially that annoying one coming from the...

    Arizona Deliveries??

Taking delivery of a Red/AWD/20/Black without FSD on the 20th. Ordered July of last year. Hoping for no/minimal flaws because I won't hesitate to refuse delivery.

    Youtube losers

Idiots you may claim, but they do have a valid point. A vehicle that costs near $70k USD should not have problems like these. Telsa does need to up their build quality because the majority of the time when somebody hears "Tesla" the first thing their mind goes to is crappy build quality. Also...

    Supercharger - Globe, AZ

Just noticed something, that spot where Tesla placed their supercharger icon on the map is right next to where the Gila RV Park is.

    Supercharger - Globe, AZ

Just stumbled across this article from last month; it claims that a supercharger will be installed during spring of this year, so, now. Getting Charged: Globe is EV friendly for drivers - Globe Miami Times Also claims that - a destination charger was installed at the local RV Park - 2...

    Model Y wheels and efficiency/range

It's actually just simple aerodynamics. Regular wheels without those aero caps you'd find on the 3's 18-Aero and Y's 19-Gemini have bigger gaps that can trap air, causing drag and increasing the force needed to push past it. The aero caps solve this problem by hiding those gaps and creating a...

Apparently, the chrome on the handles is a protective film that will be peeled off after delivery.

    Model Y wheel options

Just curious, what exactly do you mean by "practicality"? If we're judging by sidewall, then the M3 19's actually have 20mm less sidewall compared to the MY's 19's and are more susceptible to potholes. The M3 19's are also narrower, at 8.5 inches wide compared to the 10-inch width on the MY. If...

    Model Y wheel options

They will, the 3 and Y share the same bolt pattern (21mm HexNut with a 14x1.50 thread). However, the Y's suspension, TPMS, and range calculators are probably tuned for the factory tires, which ride on wider and taller series tires compared to the 3 (255 vs 235). So go for it, no one's...

    19" Gemini vs 20" Induction

So, there's been an influx of information since I last posted this. The 20's are officially 255/40 (thank you TireRack for leaking), but the 245/45 suspicion came from Tesla's own configurator. Yes, if you zoom in when you configure your Tesla, you can actually see the wheel sizes and branding...

Model Y Shares same exact center console/screen as Model 3?

Okay... that's neat and all, but what exactly does the Cybertruck's center screen have anything to do with the 3 and Y?

21" Wheels now on Performance Package

The stock Model Y wheels run on 255 series tires, so ~10 inches wide. The sports wheel you've seen on the Y's were probably from the prototypes; black sports on a Red and Blue yeah? They were also upsized to 255.

Model Y Receives EPA-Rated 315 Miles of Range

In theory, it should work, as the Model Y uses the same bolt pattern as the 3. But in practice, the Y's suspension, TPS, and range calculators are probably tuned for the bigger 255 tires instead of the 235's you'd find on the 3. Also, the wheel wells are massive compared to the 3. In my opinion...

21" Wheels now on Performance Package

Ayy, thanks for quoting me. Alright, this should be the last info update I make regarding the Model Y tires. Tire Rack now has the Model Y in its database and that gives me the final measurements. The 19's are 255/45. The 20's are 255/40. The 21's are 255/35 in the front and 275/35 in the...

    19" Gemini vs 20" Induction

Ayyy, thanks for quoting me. Sadly, I think all the information I've posted has been invalidated when Tesla updated their configurator, and Tsportline hasn't made any updates to their wheel and tire guide either. I've been doing a little more snooping and researching around the internet lately...

Quick 18" vs. 19" wheel option question...

I think so, my order summary now reads 19 inch Gemini wheels instead of the Sports I originally ordered. Also looks like Stealth Y and 3 are standard, Performance upgrade package with brakes, wheels, etc. is optional now.

Quick 18" vs. 19" wheel option question...

Tesla's Model Y page just got updated, the 19-inch Gemini's wheels look to be standard with 20-inch "Induction" wheels as an option. No signs of 18's anywhere. Performance apparently gets 21-inch "Uberturbine" wheels (possibly the turbines on the Model 3 proto?) but it's displayed with the 19's.

Quick 18" vs. 19" wheel option question...

From posts by Tsportline and some pictures people have taken of the prototypes, the Model Y's 19-inch wheels are 255/45, so that nets you around 114mm of sidewall. The 18's are supposedly 255/50 with around 127mm of sidewall. The 20's are 255/40 with 102mm of sidewall. Do note that the Model...

AWD Long Range w/Autopilot or Performance without?

I went for the AWD Long Range. The roads near my home and daily commute aren't the best, so 20-inch wheels and the stiff suspension is going to be a terrible experience. If I find myself wanting more speed, chances are, there's going to be an acceleration boost option. As for FSD, I'm on the...
