Ionity cuts EV charging prices across Europe, EXCEPT UK!

To be fair to Ionity, they have not reduced the top line prices in around half of the countries in the table. The new "Passport Power" is a considerable price drop since it brings the price per Kw to lower than Tesla in many locations. Whilst Ionity network has not got great coverage in the...

    Insurance Question - Young Driver

I couldn't log in on my Model 3 Insurance, so I thought I would try it on my Etron GT, with very low expectations. My insurer on this vehicle is currently Admiral. My policy ends in mid February next year. When you log in you have the option to add someone temporarily or permanently. I dutifully...

    Insurance Question - Young Driver

In July we will be making our annual road trip to Southern Spain from our home in Cheshire. Normally just my self and my son go in the car and the wife flies out to join us. In the past I have always done all the driving but I would really like my son to share some of the driving with me. He is...

    UK MXLR+ second hand considerations

In relation to your HV battery coolant heater failure, mine failed too in December. Unfortunately, I was out of warranty on my MS and so it cost over £1,000 to repair. That was early December. Later in December I saw a YouTube Video mentioning something along the lines of a sofware update having...

    Model S aftermarket alloys - 19x9.5J rears ET32 - will they fit?

Yes they have tyres, with plenty of tread (I could get more precise mm if you are serious about them). I tend to put these slipsteam 19's on over each winter then revert to the 21's in summer. No idea what they are worth but probably happy to take 20% under whatever they go for on ebay. PM me if...

    Model S aftermarket alloys - 19x9.5J rears ET32 - will they fit?

I'm not technical enough to specifically know the answer to your question, but from experience of moving to non Tesla wheels in the past, you have to be extremely careful about the fit. Many wheels simply do not work. I have a spare set of great condition 19" silver slipstream original Tesla...

Flint Supercharger Open to All BEV’s

So I called in at Flint Supercharger today. Two non Teslas charging, both with “wrong side” charger location on their cars meaning 2 vehicles using up 4 chargers. Other 4 occupied, so unable to charge. A glimpse of the shape of things to come. Oh joy.

    Tesla Alternative?

Personally, when viewing the Ioniq 6 in real life after having seen the pictures I felt it looked better 'in real life'. Had a look at the Volvo EX30 after seeing some mentions here. Have to say the price seems to be incredibly competitive, but I really just could not have that very 'boxy'...

    Insurance troubles May 2023

I agree with you. The question is poorly worded and based on the false premise that the (registered) keeper and owner are the same. EDIT After posting I noticed a subsequent post has noted answering “no” does then actually break down the split between owner and keeper.

    Insurance troubles May 2023

There is alot of bad information being stated on this thread regarding what constitutes the Registered Keeper of a vehicle. The reason any or all of you struggling with insurance quotes is bacause you are stating you are NOT the keeper of a vehicle when you are. Here are the absolute stone...

    Service history for used Tesla

I don't know. I don't think so. Only the existing owner of a Tesla is able to view the service history they have direct with Tesla within the App via: Service > History. You can then drill down to the detailed invoice for the work done. Once the car is re-registered to a new owner the history...

When buying a Tesla, if you are interested in any service work done with Tesla, then ask to see the owners App, go into "Service" and History. This will show things done during their ownership period.

    Tesla Referral Relaunch

I'm suspecting there is a massive down turn in demand for vehicles in general. The new 23 plate has been out for nearly a month now, and I have barely seen any. I'm thinking the downturn is going to be very serious in the coming months. Especially right now as utility bills are landing on...

    [UK] Price cuts

I just thought I would get a trade in estimate on my wife's M3P which we bought new in April 2020. Received the figure today (16/03/2023) £28,100. Ouch. Had a quick look at the price Tesla are reselling on inventory used, and there are several (in White, same as ours) for around £39k. Double...

    [UK] Price cuts

I would take that £35,800 as fast as you can if I were you. On autotrader there are loads of 2020 M3P's in the low £30k's price so that is looking rather generous to me.

    MOT in Bath/Bristol area

Since it's only 3 years old I would simply put it through for MOT. End of the day if there's anything wrong your car should be telling you. If the car doesn't (and it's major) the MOT people will fail you or give an advisory so I can't see much to be gained by any type of "service" pre MOT.

    Weird Supercharger Layout

On the subject of weird supercharger layouts, last summer I visited Sagunto charger near Valencia in Spain. There have been 8 chargers installed there, but they have put them too close together (4 opposite 4) so they have not been able to open 4 of the 8 chargers. Now that was a genuine mess up!

    Weird Supercharger Layout

After some getting to understand what's going on, you can see there is a certain beautiful logic to it. Give it a busy period and it has equal potential to turn into an absolute cluster***k. Especially if non Teslas with other random charger locations are added in the mix.

    Newbie charging querie

I have a Zappi too. I have it set to 00.30 to 04:30 for charging on Eco ++. However, I have found it easier to simply set the Tesla App to timed charge at 00:30 in which case you can just leave the Zappi on FAST charge. TPMS assigned to wrong wheel

Maybe I'm just being a bit cynical here but it seems to be a bit of a conincidence to have both a TPMS issue within 24 hours of collection plus a punctured tyre. I'm sensing something wasn't right with that tyre before you collected the car.

Opinions from Model S owners who now have a Model Y

I have a 2018 Model S 75D. Wife has 2020 M3P. When I drive the wife's M3P 3 major differences noted: 1. Cabin noise in M3P much worse (louder) than Model S. 2. M3P suspension noticeably firmer. You really feel the bumps. 3. M3P wins only on brute 0-60 performance.

    New Octopus Go vs Alternatives

Your calculation isn't quite correct here, as the additional 20kw should be calculated at 21.76p giving total cost of £8.55. However, agree with your overall general point that the main rate being 28% below the new Go rate will potentially mean Flexible will be a better option (depending on...

    Weird notifications

    Window tinting in North West

M3P was done at GFUK Autodesign 13, The Arena, Bromborough, CH62 3AE. Model S was done at Ultimate Tint, Unit A2-A7, Evans Easyspace, Deeside, CH5 2JZ Both did excellent jobs, very good friendly service. I have no connection to either. M3P cost around £200, Model S around £250.

    Window tinting in North West

I have had both our Model S and M3P tinted. Model S is from recollection 17% and M3P is 20%. It is a noticeable difference. I have found with the M3P it is very dark when you look in the rear view mirror. A bit too dark for my liking. On our M3P I have done only the half back windscreen. It...

    Thinking of making an offer

I would say a word of caution on "inventory" vehicles. Tesla has improved the description of "inventory" vehicles, so most described as "in transit" could be anywhere from dockside LA, at sea, or dockside UK (or the equivalent from other manufacturing location(s). Those that have a location...
