sure, if you plan to drive a relatively outdated vehicle with no warranty. Don’t invest the excess cash right away, may have to dump it back into the vehicle If something goes wrong. Also, you shouldn’t lease a car with the intention of buying - you’ll typically be behind in equity at buy out.

I think lease is way to go, if you can afford it. You’ll always have the newest software and hardware and car is always covered under warranty. Also would rather have my money in assets that appreciate.

Some people would rather turn a blind eye and just hope it doesn’t happen to them I guess..

If you’re considering it, go performance. Try the wheels out - I like them. They’re not heavy in comparison to the overall weight of the car They handle well and the ride is very smooth and comfortable. You do have to watch out for potholes but that would really apply to any wheel on a 2-ton low...

Lease deals actually aren’t bad on the model 3 P (compared to other 60k sport sedans) minus ability to buy car out, which I guess some people do. Not sure what they look like on LR and standard.

Sounds like you got a bad one. No paint blemishes or wind noise here - at low or highway speeds. Fit and finish among the best I’ve seen. Unfortunate that a few others haven’t had the same experience.

Lease rates are good in the P3D - competitive to other luxury sports sedans at similar retail. Not sure about long range and standard options though.

Incorrect. It does make up for the extra weight. That’s why it’s faster around the track than anything gas powered that is even remotely in its price range. And these tests were completed before V2.

And it’s an unfortunate thing for BMW that the P3D is faster in every measurable category that relates to the track. Including lap times themselves :)

Including attachments, fluids, battery/electronics yup, right around 1000 (everything sitting in the engine bay) wet and driveable. And that ancient weight is sitting substantially higher off the ground than either Tesla motor ;)

You should try driving around with a dry engine and no down pipe, turbo, manifold, intake, oil etc. Make sure you remove all the screws too. ;)

disagree completely. The lower center of gravity makes up for increased weight. That’s why Tesla beats up on nearly everything on and off the track. GT3? That’s a $200k car lol.

Even without V2 it’s not a fair comparison. P3D is a far superior driving and track machine (with slight exception of feel around bends) and V2 negates that.

So I’m pretty sure the driver didn’t bail. Apparently Chicago is a big hub for drivers delivering to east coast. One driver drops a bunch of cars off at the Hub and they await further transport via another driver. This is likely what you’ve encountered I can only assume. I am having the same...

I would drive the P and see if you like it. I drove both and to me the improved handling and speed, as well as looks, justified the price jump.

I would imagine you could get one cheaper than a performance with upgraded wheels brakes etc. if you’re looking on used market, but 2020 seems pointless to buy stealth when it’s same price as performance upgrade.

You’re saying VINs between stealth and performance (pre 2020) is identical? Because before you said they are not. That would affect resale drastically.
