2017 X 100D. What is a degradation level that will trigger a battery replacement ?

An alternative way of asking your question - Has anyone with a '16 or '17 had their battery replaced under warranty due to degradation (not failure)? If so, can they share what percentage of degradation they were at when Tesla authorized the replacement.

Tesla recalls 2 million vehicles to limit use of Autopilot

If you go into service mode and do a reinstall of the old firmware version it forces a download of the prior version. Does that then drop the version that was waiting to be installed?

A CD player that works via USB - finally!!!

Anybody have success on MCU1? I picked up the CD player, but my MCU1 shows the USB FAT32 partition as corrupted. Laptop sees the CD player with no issues as a FAT32 drive.

Enable SiriusXM Radio / Tuner Software in MCU1

Replaced the original FM Radio with a used FM/XM Radio and I'm curious how difficult it is to enable it in the software, so that the SiriusXM option is viewable. Tesla won't enable it since the original configuration was the Base Audio. MX '17 with MCU1 and Base Audio. I'm still on MCU1 and...

Charging solely using the Supercharger network

I only utilize superchargers for charging these days and mostly rely on low usage locations outside of major cities. 90% of my current 170K Miles are from supercharging, so I really wouldn't worry about the battery life / degradation. My primary concerns would be around the extra costs for...

Tesla recalls 2 million vehicles to limit use of Autopilot

Same here - Test drove Y twice due to the free supercharger switch offer and it was a major let down. Sticking with MX17.

So, my F236 5A fuse was fine, but I found that the F219 5A fuse was blown. F219 MICRO2 5A Diagnostic Port Here's a pic @essmd posted in a 2017 thread for future reference.

Tesla recalls 2 million vehicles to limit use of Autopilot

Received the physical recall letter for MX '17 yesterday and under the "What You Should Do" section it says - "At this time, there is no action you need to take. The firmware remedy is not yet available. When the remedy is available, it will be deployed OTA to your vehicle, and we will notify...

Need fuse number & Location for TPMS & Lighted Mirrors

@paalw - Did you ever find out which fuse was causing the error message? I've the got error message now after doing something similar with a 12v adaptor and ODB2. I'm going to check F236 later today, but curious if there is another fuse to check.

Tesla recalls 2 million vehicles to limit use of Autopilot

You could pull out the card from the MCU, but it also has the 4G, and GPS on it, so you'll lose those. Maybe try disconnecting the WIFI antenna on the card first and see if that impairs it enough.

When will Tesla offer a vehicle with a listed range of 500+ miles?

Definitely mpg drops dramatically for ICE, but some trucks have options for larger tanks. Example F150 has 23 and 36 gallon options, so you still have decent milage at ~10 MPG. Plus you can easily add a few extra tanks if you're camping away from a gas station. All Teslas are beasts for...

EMF (radiation) emissions from Tesla batteries

Its been 6+ years, but I remember reading that most new ICE cars had higher EMF levels inside the car than the S or X back in the day due to the extra shielding that was put into the cars. That was before supercharging was so prolific, so I don't think that was part of the test. But you can...

When will Tesla offer a vehicle with a listed range of 500+ miles?

I labeled the thread as the "listed" (epa) range of 500 miles, because I see that equating to around 350 to 400 miles of real world highway miles and around 150 to 200 miles of towing. The assumption being, you're going to want to have a little more than 1% or 2% when you eventually stop to...

When will Tesla offer a vehicle with a listed range of 500+ miles?

I'm hopeful the news about different weights for the Cybertruck models means there is one top version that will have the 500 mile version, but I agree it is highly unlikely. Pretty clear the roadster vaporware doesn't really count for this discussion. I fully agree that most don't "need"...

When will Tesla offer a vehicle with a listed range of 500+ miles?

If I was asked this question in '16 or '17, I would have guessed around 2020-21 we'd have an (expensive) option via the S or X. We're now nearing '24 and still nothing from Tesla. Lucid Air has been available for over year, so at what point will we see an option delivered from Tesla?

    Free Supercharging transfer opportunity

It is definitely tempting. I have 160K miles on my X and I only supercharge. My 8 yr battery warranty has over a year left, so what are the odds this offer is still available in a year? Guessing low. The fact the new battery warranty stops at only 120K miles is the only annoying item for me...

Replacing the Key Less Entry Sensor on MX - BCCEN_W114_LFAntErrorDriver

Older X's don't have cards. The key fobs allow entry even when the battery is dead if you place next to the sensor on the car.

Replacing the Key Less Entry Sensor on MX - BCCEN_W114_LFAntErrorDriver

Does anyone know how difficult is it to replace the key less entry sensor at the base between the driver side door and falcon door on a MX 2017? I couldn't find any posts or videos online. Mine doesn't work when I place either fob next to the sensor and I’m getting the error...

Navigation - workaround to avoid highways

It seems like an obvious need for electric cars besides the general site seeing reasons. There have definitely been a few times where I needed to drive slower (below 50 MPH) to conserve range. Shortest route in distance and not time is another option that is needed.

    Model X 19" rims vs Model S 19" rims.

I'm using CONTINENTAL CROSS CONTACT LX SPORT 255 /55 R19 I wanted to go with 50, but discount tire said I shouldn't due to the weight since I wanted to avoid wider 265 tires (range).

Model X 90kWh battery pack degradation

Is there any threshold (older warranty policy) where individuals have been successful with getting a replacement due to degradation vs. overall failure? Example nearing or falling below 50% of the original battery. I've got a little over two years left on my eight year warranty, so I'm...

    Model X 19" rims vs Model S 19" rims.

Can't speak about the MS, but I recommend the move to the same four tires. I switched to the MX winter 19x8.5 rims two years ago and get better range and longer wear/life. I rotate them every 5 or 6K and I also keep a 5th spare in the back of my five seater which has saved me on road trips.

Model X 90kWh battery pack degradation

I learned this nugget in the field last week. I was less than two miles from the supercharger with around 3% when it instantly became 0 and forced an immediate pull over. I'm nearing 135K miles and this was the first time I've actually run out of charge. So, I just got an ODB and started...

    My Tesla camper

Thx - Feel like I just watched the directors cut. To confirm, the warning only goes off when you first get in the car, but stops going off until you leave and come back. I had a sensor stop working on my MX and it would beep every 5 or 10 minutes to remind me the sensor wasn't working. As you...
