I installed mine just leaving the bolts where they are since they just spin. You can't see them and it doesn't seem to affect anything driving in deep snow and some deep water puddles.

No issues so far. I've definitely been using the frunk more often.

That seems to have done the trick. I was concerned about condensation or maybe rainwater collecting somewhere. Crazy the car can be so quiet as to hear the washer fluid in the frunk.

I find the rear flaps help keep the rear of the car cleaner. I suspect in drier regions it may not be as much of an issue but in rainier/snowier areas it does help.
