I didn't get a chance to test today, but the blue lights went out and I'm still getting solaredge data... Either way, I'm happy now.. no nagging from tesla and we get to use solaredge info now.. win win..

I didn't set it to auto, and yes it's using zigbee because the Tesla app is reporting data again... I could disable the Tesla gateway tomorrow and see if data is still coming to solaredge..

I can see it bringing up and tearing down sessions to Solaredge's system.. So I believe it is using ethernet since it's available.

Maybe it does both now... *shrug*...

My firewall still shows active sessions from the ethernet port going to SolarEdge's cloud..

Good to know, I'll do some traffic analysis on the ethernet connection to see.. Sure hope this is what it is, so we can just end this headache..

I've wondered about this myself.. I have 10 panels on the east side of the house, I think these would be better on the west side since the sun is there longer during the day.. That east side gets 2-3 hours at most before the sun if off it.

I was able to split it on 2 different cards to not max them out, but the nice thing is we (wife and I) received enough to miles to cover our thanksgiving and xmas flights to go see family.

If it wasn't for the cost, I would have gone with a local solar company.... But they were 14K higher (before tax credit) than what Tesla was offering, for a smaller system. I knew I was signing up for a company who didn't have stellar reviews, but 14K is a huge chunk of change to throw away...

I have a 16.32kw system that was just installed last month, and the most I've seen is spikes of 15.3kw. I have 2 x 7600 inverters so that's about the max you can ever do actually. The only time I see these spikes is when there are clouds to keep the panels cool and then the sun pokes through...
