traditionally they have not charged for unlocking more range. If you look last year I think July the M3 was gifted with more range. Real world I dont think I have noticed it at all

no, I ordered my M3 from a car on the lot. so it took a week. I will say the pickup was less than fun. I got there and there was a hold (baseball sized) in the driver fender. so they had to "find" me a different car which was at the overflow lot. that took 5 hours.

The SA's in my experience are not good. I have only talked to them when I reached out. no idea when you ordered but if it was June, September is not out of the question for a delivery. I ordered April and am supposed to get my car on Monday

Not a stupid question at all. It will only auto change lanes if you have a destination selected. IE address that you are going to. Otherwise its just fancy cruise control. you can hit the indicator and the car will move for you as well
