FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

Ok, for all the naysayers- I did just find a safety-critical edge case that needs work. Despite being in an urban area, there are completely uncontrolled low visibility 4 way intersections in my neighborhood. Beta has always blown right through them requiring intervention. 12.3 still blows...

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

I’ve been testing since late ‘21 (10.x) and also following these threads. Like many I’ve been let down by hyped up releases many many times and know that these threads have gotten accordingly negative as time has gone on. But I think the naysayers are going to be quickly admitting they were...

2017 to 2024: Did they fix...

I have a ‘23 MX and previously a ‘22 MX. Both cars have had their quirks but the fwd’s have worked quite well overall, although not perfect. I drove an older MX loaner once and it felt so clunky in comparison. The refresh model is faster, more efficient, and the interior is vastly improved.

Discussion: Powershare [V2X feature currently announced for Cybertruck]

Makes sense, thanks. Something else that would be great to know is whether PowerShare will support load shifting capability and vpp events. I don’t have a lot of grid outages but the utility cost savings would be a great perk. I think arguments could be made on either side as to whether or...

Discussion: Powershare [V2X feature currently announced for Cybertruck]

Can someone who’s received this survey/in process of setting up, verify with Tesla whether we will need to upgrade the Tesla wall connector to the Universal wall connector in order to PowerShare? Also report back here please. I already have powerwall/gateway so I think the answer is no, but...

Cybertruck Vehicle to Home Survey Email

Can one of you verify with Tesla whether we will need to upgrade the Tesla wall connector to the Universal wall connector in order to PowerShare? Also report back here please. I already have powerwall/gateway so I think the answer is no, but I’m hoping for verification because the Tesla...

Cybertruck Foundation Series Reservation Holder Reveals Cost Of $120,000: Only 1,000 Will Ever Be Made

FWIW, I have rn11294xxx and I’m in the Bay Area too, but haven’t received an invite, so who knows how widespread this is. Personally, if I get invited I’m going to wait for the tax credit, etc. but it’s a great opportunity for those in a rush. I also have to be 100% sure it will fit in my...

powerwall full charged, does not discharge

Update, sevice emailed me yesterday (Sunday) and told me to change ‘sell’ price to half of ‘buy’ price (per kWh) under settings, and this seems to have fixed the problem as of today. The problem started 11/1 with the new season. Those prices were always set to the same for both seasons and it...

powerwall full charged, does not discharge

I have the same problem as OP for about the last week but just noticed yesterday. Going ‘off grid’ works fine so clearly not a wiring problem. I’m on time- based with reserve at 20% so I just put it to 0% but probably won’t help. Time to contact service I guess. I have 3 pw’s stacked so if...

    FSD Beta v11.x

I hear you but the choices are to either keep waiting for fsd or go after Tesla in court or stop using fsd or just sell the car. I wonder how many on this thread actually use fsdb regularly because that’s the only way to measure the progress, which is unmistakable, despite plenty of steps...

    FSD Beta v11.x

Ok, the horn thing was arguably a lie but nobody cares much because it’s a small detail. My MX has no center horn and I just don’t care and I assume most owners don’t either. FSD timeline is clearly wishful thinking/over promising. The technology is actually progressing toward that goal for...

    FSD Beta v11.x

Ok, maybe it was the maps update but the timing of these improvements doesn’t coincide. Maybe you know something I don’t? Elon exaggerates and over promises all the time, but he doesn’t really tell outright lies (there is a difference). He said dojo was beginning to come online a few months ago.
  13. B

    FSD Beta v11.x

I was always cautiously optimistic but obviously Elon over promised which he shouldn’t have- but I think he actually thought this wouldn’t be such a difficult problem to solve. Plus, Tesla almost went bankrupt during this development so had he not over-promised, it quite possibly would have...

    FSD Beta v11.x

This thread is so negative! I’ve been testing for ~2 years and currently on hw 4, v. 11.4.7.2. It’s definitely the best version I’ve experienced and for some reason improved a lot 3 or 4 days ago. I believe for the first time ever that dojo learning is happening in the background. I don’t...

    FSD Beta v11.x

Interesting. I don’t think hw4 would matter one way or another (yet) but I’m on day 2 of some impressive fsdriving. Not perfect but the main improvement starting yesterday is gradual slowdowns/improved path planning. My navigation sw updated ~5 days ago but I didn’t see this improvement until...
  16. B

    FSD Beta v11.x

Do you have hw 3 or 4? Wondering if that matters at this point.

    FSD Beta v11.x

Yeah, I’ve had great drives before but this was all day over several drives after several bad drives the day before. This morning was also good but it was a short drive, will report more later. I agree that inconsistency is frustrating and obviously undermines overall confidence.
  18. B

    FSD Beta v11.x

I’m currently on my 4th Tesla with FSD and started beta testing -two years ago. I’m quite consistent with testing and have seen all kinds of terrible behavior (and some good) during this time, since I live in an urban area. I don’t sugarcoat anything but I’m patient so I keep testing despite...

Would <$80k MX get US tax credit?

Yep, ordered soon after big price drop and took delivery last week with fsd transfer. Amazing car at a ‘fair’ price. Referral awards dropped very soon after I ordered so technically the price increased. Seems like my timing was good. Of course prices could drop further in the future but I’d...

    Deliveries of $80k X?

Weird, I agreed through the app weeks ago immediately after ordering and that was it. I triple checked during delivery but was told it was already done and sure enough it was.
  21. B

    Deliveries of $80k X?

Update, I took delivery a few days ago. I’m very happy overal, the car is in very good condition. FSD transfer went smoothly and doesn’t even require a signature. I owned a 2022 model X for six months, and this one is much better built with several small improvements.
  22. B

    Deliveries of $80k X?

Vin shows up in addition to RN. You’ll also get a text and email more or less immediately. Basically, there’s hardly any reason to check the app with any sort of frequency except for us crazy people here of course😆
  23. B

    Deliveries of $80k X?

Just got my vin assigned! 7SAXCAE53PF416xxx. Delivery window starts next week thorough the following week. Fsd transfer deadline met! Sorry to those of you farther away from California who won’t make that deadline because of logistics. I hope they extend it for you all.
  24. B

    Deliveries of $80k X?

The problem is determining thr order cut off date. It would probably be according to the website estimate, which moved back ~10 days ago.
  25. B

    Deliveries of $80k X?

Just another data point. Ordered 9/3- EDD starts tomorrow through early October (no vin yet), which has been unchanged for almost a week. I’m close to Fremont so I’d say eoq priority logistics is definitely happening as it presumably always does. I need the fsd transfer so we’ll see what...

    $7500 IRA business tax credit

The irs website says details are pending so I don’t know how a cpa would know anything more at this point, at least I know mine wouldn’t. Hopefully someone’s would know more than mine though.
  27. B

    Deliveries of $80k X?

According to the order page, the X is sold out into October, so expecting eoq incentives seems misguided. They also just reduced referral incentives for all the models. I’m pretty sure the S/X prices at all time lows has done the demand trick for now. Also, the refreshed S/X is a lot better...
  28. B

    Deliveries of $80k X?

Yes for the last three days. I’m 40 miles from Fremont so I’m sure that helps.
  29. B

    Deliveries of $80k X?

Update, just received an actual date range in app. Mid September through early October!
  30. B

    Deliveries of $80k X?

The fine print does list the 9/30 deadline. If they can’t deliver in time, it’s not fair to exclude people who ordered while the website still said September.

    Trade 2019 Standard Range for 2023 - Model X

I owned a ‘22 and have driven an older X loaner. Imo, the improvements in performance/interior/ quiet cabin make the switch well worth it, especially at current prices. I found the loaner to be clunky and to drive like a minivan in comparison to the ‘22.
  32. B

    Deliveries of $80k X?

I ordered on 9/2 and the eta just switched to oct/nov like everyone else. I also need to do the fsd transfer. I don’t see how they can’t extend the 9/30 transfer deadline since the website said sept/oct until yesterday. Those ordering today and beyond are probably SOL though. I’m near...
  33. B

    Deliveries of $80k X?

I think they switched to matrix over the last few months and most of the new ones I saw on the lot recently had them. One salesman told me they all have matrix now but another said the factory sometimes runs out and installs the old ones. Ymmv I guess.
  34. B

    Deliveries of $80k X?

Good question. I ordered several days ago and the eta is just what’s on the website- sep-oct. I’m doing the fsd transfer so I assume they will either meet their own deadline or extend it. Delivering by eoq has to be a big priority but they can only fulfill so many orders in the next ~ 3 weeks...

Thinking to back out from my MXLR order after doing extensive readings here, thoughts?

I had a ‘22 X since traded in, and now another one order with new pricing. I had fit and finish issues with the ‘22 which were all addressed at the service center free of charge. None of them were deal breakers. It’s an awesome car despite the quirks- I say go for it! This pricing with free...

    Model S&X Price Adjustments

What other car company is trying to grow at 50% volume per year? I don’t think any. That kind of growth requires nimble reactions to the market- dilly dallying won’t work.
  37. B

    thinking to get x plaid

They just did a major upgrade ~2 years ago (I’ve driven older and newer Xs and the changes are quite profound). They are low volume compared to all their other models, especially CT which will be getting lots of attention for some time. All this to say, don’t hold your breath.
  38. B

    Model Y to Model X?

I’ve owned both-X and then Y- both 7 seat. Now I’m going back to X. I think it’s a no brainer at current prices for those that can afford it. The X has somewhat more interior space- just enough to make a difference. Especially the third row, which is sort of useless in the Y but not in the...

    Model X tax credit question

I have a 7 seater on order but my wife has her own business so I’m hoping/assuming she can get a commercial tax credit which has no price cap. The 5 seater X is ok but the 7 seat has more utility since the seats fold flat. It is quite a dilemma for those wanting the consumer tax credit because...

    Model S&X Price Adjustments

sorry to say, but that would be a waste of time and energy just like this thread here. I’d be bitter too but it’s simply bad timing for some and good timing for others. This has played out several times over the years with Tesla. Refresh S/X were launched during the pandemic so there were...

Model X price cuts- yet again

We’ve been hearing about competition for years. It has finally arrived but is still inferior in many ways to Tesla and sales numbers consistently reflect that. I’m not saying it has no effect, but ‘humongous’ is a stretch. I agree they will stay priced below the competition, which is exactly...

Model X price cuts- yet again

These are all time low base prices and I don’t think all paint colors have ever been free before. I have to wonder how long these prices will last. I predict slight price increases fairly soon once they book enough orders for the quarter or maybe going through next quarter. Once CT ramps...

Prediction: Model X price will be reduced to $78K in January 2024

Well it’s happened! Almost $20k price drop in the last hour or so- great time to buy!!! Sucks for those who just did😕

    $7500 IRA business tax credit

Yes but it’s lacking some details like does any business qualify?, does the car have to be used for the business? Also the car is in my name but it’s my wife’s business but we file together. Not sure if the irs would care.
  45. B

    $7500 IRA business tax credit

Tesla recently started listing a $7500 tax credit for businesses on the S/X order page. I think it’s part of the IRA- apparently it doesn’t have any limits on AGI or car price. It is separate from the longstanding section 179 deduction for MX and presumably cannot be used in conjunction...

how much tesla insurance for model x

I’ve owned 3, Y, and X within the last 15 months, all long range modes with the same coverage with Tesla insurance in California. The X was the most expensive to insure, but only by about $15/month- it was about $150 month

Tesla wants to unmatch VIN since I'm on vacation

Good advice, I was told just last week to be prepared to take delivery within a week when buying an inventory car.

    Perforated white seat- bad idea?

I’m considering ordering the white seats on a new model X with perforated seats. it seems like stains could be more of an issue then it is with non-perforated seats in general and especially with white perforated seats. Any experiences with these, good or bad? I like the look of them, but just...

EV tax credit for model X

This has been discussed a lot here and the answer is no one really knows. Doesn’t seem likely to me for several reasons but one obvious one is it already qualifies for business owner deductions which is stated on the order page. The details are a bit unclear but I’m sure it’s helping with...

Anyone Check the Model S/X Configurator recently?

In the SF Bay Area not all the inventory cars have a discount although I’ve seen some that do. I’ve been tracking it and they tend to get discounted after they’ve been up on the site for a few days. My guess is the plan it is to deliver inventory cars with the software lock to people that...
