Weird, I agreed through the app weeks ago immediately after ordering and that was it. I triple checked during delivery but was told it was already done and sure enough it was.

Update, I took delivery a few days ago. I’m very happy overal, the car is in very good condition. FSD transfer went smoothly and doesn’t even require a signature. I owned a 2022 model X for six months, and this one is much better built with several small improvements.

Vin shows up in addition to RN. You’ll also get a text and email more or less immediately. Basically, there’s hardly any reason to check the app with any sort of frequency except for us crazy people here of course😆

The fine print does list the 9/30 deadline. If they can’t deliver in time, it’s not fair to exclude people who ordered while the website still said September.

I owned a ‘22 and have driven an older X loaner. Imo, the improvements in performance/interior/ quiet cabin make the switch well worth it, especially at current prices. I found the loaner to be clunky and to drive like a minivan in comparison to the ‘22.

I think they switched to matrix over the last few months and most of the new ones I saw on the lot recently had them. One salesman told me they all have matrix now but another said the factory sometimes runs out and installs the old ones. Ymmv I guess.

They just did a major upgrade ~2 years ago (I’ve driven older and newer Xs and the changes are quite profound). They are low volume compared to all their other models, especially CT which will be getting lots of attention for some time. All this to say, don’t hold your breath.
