I heard today that the Russell Supercharger is active. Was told that Monday, 2 Teslas were charging there.

High voltage lines appear connected and the charging kiosks are complete. No power yet however. Maybe “2 weeks “

Yesterday talked to workers hooking up the electrical conections. Said they were just waiting for final inspection and the Supercharger should be open in about 1 week.

Talked to an emplyee at Sonic and she was told that it may up and running by May 1. Lets hope so. I'll be there on May 1 and check it out.

Well, my information must have been incorrect. Went by there today and the transformer is in place. I would think this may mean the power may be connected sooner than mid May.

I checked with some local friends that say the transformer and electrical hookup will not be in until mid May or early June. It is the city electrical service providing these, so it may take a while.

Reminds me of many years ago my wife and I were going to tent camp in the Badlands. Asked a waitress in a restaurant in Wall if there was any chance of rain. She said “it never rains on the Badlands “. That night there was a bad thunderstorm and the wind blew our tent over.

Used the CHAdeMO on Sunday 5/19 since the Supercharger was down. Very expensive! They charge you by the minute, $0.30 and the charge is limited to 50 kW max.

Had it for a while, then went back to Dolby. Returned again later. Then back to Dolby after latest upgrade. Maybe it will return later.

Can't wait to use it. This will make the round trip from Wichita to Topeka easy. Have family in Topeka and I have been having to take the ICE for most visits.:love:

It looks like the Topeka supercharger is getting closer to being completed! All I have is this single photo that my son took today.

They should put the Topeka SC at the Governors Mansion, it is right off I-70 at Fairlawn exit. Our pro fossil fuel governor Brownback could then appreciate EV transportation! (He is funded by the Koch Brothers)

Would that be north of I-70 by the Red Robin and Hyatt or south?

Charging at the Hays, KS SC at Applebee's. Being in Kansas this if the first time I have had the opportunity to use a SC.

I stopped by there today and the workers said it would be 2-3 weeks before the Salina SC would be completed. I also went and charged at the Hays SC today just to try it out. Worked great. Only stayed about 25 minutes and got 150 miles of range.

I think a good site for the Topeka SC would be at 6th and Wanamaker just north of I-70. There is a restaurant (Red Robin), Hotel (Hyatt Place) and a movie theater. Anywhere south of I-70 is on a very busy street and difficult to navigate even in non-rush hour traffic. North is much less busy and...

Crap! My Model S is still in the body shop getting the deer hit repaired and I won't get it back until the next week. I really wanted to make that opening. I be up that way the next week and will make a visit.

Yes, I have a Blue S 85 delivered last October. I drive to Russell, KS frequently. Can't wait to be able to drive west on Superchargers.

Will Tesla announce when the Kansas superchargers will be having opening ceremonies? I live in Wichita and would like to attend.

Russell is 25 miles east of Hays and has a couple of fast food spots and hotels that might be a good location. It is at the 185 mile marker.

I don't remember the exact number but around 416 Wh/m, maybe a little more. I usually make the trip with around 50-60 miles of rated range left.

Got my MS 85 in October. Loving it ever since. One of my jobs is 167 miles from home. Drove my MS there in 8-10 degree F weather. Very little wind, 5-10 mph. Drove at 70-72 mph on Interstate Hwys. Charge to a max charge 266 rated miles just prior to leaving and had the cabin warm. I was able to...

I'm expecting my Model S 85kW, metallic blue, tan interior, tech, audio, air suspension, pano roof in October. There are not too many Tesla's in Kansas yet. I think there is one in Wichita, 2 in Lawrence and several in KC. Hope to see more soon.

Metalic Blue S 85 Wichita, KS Waiting for my Model S coming in Oct. 2013. I think there is one other Model S in Wichita. I'm anxious to get on the road. I put a lot of miles on a vehicle each year and can't wait to spend my time in my Tesla.
