It’s easy to get a refund for your deposit. Simply remind Tesla that they are required to refund the deposit under the UK Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000. Email address I used: [email protected]

3M VHB is the best I've found, when buying watch for fake stuff. The advantage to the 3M is that sticks very very well and it's easy to remove from the car / plates at a later date - the white foam tape / pads tend to disintegrate and are very difficult to remove if you need to change the plate.

Tesla vision only - no radar from 2022 Q2 cars

Seems I'm wrong - looks like VW moved the radar sensor behind the VW badge on the 7.5.

Tesla vision only - no radar from 2022 Q2 cars

98% sure the last of the 7's (7.5 model) went vision only. The front design changed - the obvious radar sensor was removed.

Tesla vision only - no radar from 2022 Q2 cars

I don't see the removal of the radar as a negative. I had a Golf R (7.5) which was camera based only. I did many return trips from Lancashire to Heathrow with lane keep assist and active cruise - no phantom braking and no problems - far better than AP in my M3P.

Solar Panels UK - is it worth it?

GivEnergy Gen 2 Hybrid has 1kW more input / output from / to the battery (3.6kW versus 2.6kW for the Gen 1).

Solar Panels UK - is it worth it?

To keep cost down? Also I’m not sure if the export limit the DNO (local electricity distributor) sets for export to the grid limits the max. that can be drawn from the batteries even for self consumption. I think the standard export limit is 4kW, I managed to get 5kW.

Try this website for a rough idea on kit cost. Installers will get a discount but you can easily price up different kits: https://midsummerwholesale.co.uk/

Solar Panels UK - is it worth it?

Working out best setup / tariff - not all straightforward. If you go for a few cheap hours overnight your outgoing rate is 7.5p, at the moment outgoing Agile (which can be selected without incoming agile pricing) is around 30p kWh during the day - peaking at 58p this evening.

Solar Panels UK - is it worth it?

I’m thinking of adding an additional grid tie 3kW inverter - this will give up to 5.5kWh input / output to/from the battery - it’ll still work out a lot cheaper than most other systems. I’m going to leave it for 6 months and then work out in a spreadsheet how long the extra inverter would take...

Solar Panels UK - is it worth it?

Prices - obviously every install is different. For reference I’ve recently had: 20 x 330 Black Panels (with in roof trays) 1 x GivEnergy 5kWh Hybrid Inverter 2. GivEnergy 8.2kWh batteries Total installed price £12,917 My install was straightforward - new roof on a large south facing...

Solar Panels UK - is it worth it?

The 5kW GivEnergy Hybrid will only charge / discharge from the battery/batteries at approx 2.5kW, having more than one battery won’t help. The 8.2kWh batteries are actually quite a bit larger - they list as 8.2 so they can offer 100% depth of discharge.

I'm sure you wouldn't notice any difference with an extra 12kW output from the rear motor. My 2020 M3P has the older 3D1 rear motor ("just" 202kW) and it certainly isn't slow. On your earlier post you showed a graphic with the "Permissable variants and versions" of the battery / motor - this...

Thanks - I wasn't aware of the different versions of the 3D6 - I was going off the online manual which must be out of date as it lists the most powerful rear motor @ 220kWh: https://www.tesla.com/ownersmanual/model3/en_cn/GUID-E414862C-CFA1-4A0B-9548-BE21C32CAA58.html The Tesla chap who emailed...

Amongst the "ManufacturingOptionCodeList" it has: BT42 82kwh Battery (Panasonic , BT42, E3LD) RD06 M3/Y Rear Performance motor 3D6 The RD06 option code may be wrong on the website I found, if it's correct it looks like Tesla have been making the slightly more powerful motor with the 82kWh...

For members discussing compressors I'm sure I've read in the past the 12v socket is quite limited in output and some compressors will cause the electronic fuse to cut power. Related post...

2170L I think means my car will have the Panasonic cells and the quoted range (352m) looks like it will be the 82kWh pack. I know another user was keen to get the slightly lower capacity LG battery (79kWh), the difference in range is not signicant but I would prefer more than less - not sure if...

MASTER THREAD: 2021 Model 3 - Charge data, battery discussion etc

Not sure if this helps - I got the attached graphic from a sales contact @ Tesla for my UK M3P that's due to be delivered mid March. A live chat agent confirmed the car had Ryzen and 15v low voltage lithium battery.

I've an M3P on order - due for collection from Manchester March 14. A helpful chap at Tesla Manchester emailed me the attached image, from what I understand 2170L are the latest Panasonic made cells so the battery will be the 82kWh model. Range is shown as 567km = 352m (same as 2021 spec.)...

    Panasonic v LG Batteries

Looking at new order 2022 Performance specs. on the Tesla website the WLTP range is down to 340 miles, new 2021 inventory models are showing 352 miles. Presume the performance is changing to the 79kWh battery - makes it even poorer value for money,

3 pin plug charging cable [UMC] query

Hi, I'm having a new Contactum Defender consumer unit fitted in my out building / garage. I plan to have a 16A (blue) socket installed in my garage for occasional use with the Tesla supplied 3 pin charger. Can someone point me in the direction of a suitable 16a Type B RCBO that will suit my...

Quality control on my new 2021 M3P

A useful document: https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/Global/Public/Campaigns/cra/ConsumerRightsSummary-GoodsOL.pdf Within 30 days it's your right to get a refund if the product is defective, the manufacturer / supplier has no right to attempt a repair in the first 30 days.

Quality control on my new 2021 M3P

I doubt you'll get anywhere with Tesla customer service. I returned a M3P within the 7 day return window (when it existed) in September due to paint defects across a couple of panels. If you're not happy with the car I would return it, complete the form on the last page of this Tesla document...
