Can someone with more math skills than me help out? Assuming Tesla makes 1.8 million deliveries this year, given the price cuts, will the 2023 EPS rise much compared to 2022?
Or to put it differently, how many deliveries would be needed to grow EPS by 20 or even 30%?
That cannot be accurate. Abandoning zero covid led to everyone being allowed to go out. So if anything it should have helped sales. The 1st step to solving a problem is accepting there is one. Constantly trying to blame external factors does not help. Chinese customers are wanting cheaper models...
Exactly, maybe they waited too long to drop prices in China. Maybe they should have exported more earlier in the quarter. Its okay to acknowledge they could have done better. Yes, they grew deliveries while other manufacturers declined but they missed their own delivery guidance by a lot...
I agree with Troy, we need some action from Tesla. The fact that numbers are climbing so quickly within 1 week suggests demand is weaker than production. People might not want to spend so much in this environment. Price cuts are needed in US. Easiest option will be to reduce 5 seater by 7.5k and...
Remember Berlin likely should have sold about 30k. With higher production and exports from China, would have expected that total EU number to be higher. This likely means there is quite some inventory in EU too or just in transit.
For 2023, Tesla needs an average of almost 490k per quarter to secure 50% growth. Any thoughts on how this will become attainable? China had a spike in demand when prices dropped but that demand seems to have quickly dissipated over 1.5 months. Price decreases further create a belief that there...
This is tiresome. Come on, macro, covid, inflation etc have caused damage, affected deliveries. But, you cannot be oblivious to Elon's role by sales and other T***** nonsense
Bad china numbers today didnt help. Any idea whats the analyst consensus for q4 deliveries?
Fast approaching my cost basis and any gains have almost been wiped out. Easier for those with much lower cost basis to hold. Would have loved to at least see some insight from the CEO about the reasons...
FTX started declining Monday night. Of course, you could argue they liquidated TSLA in advance in anticipation. TSLA has been hit hard since Friday. I do not think thats related. Again, today's volume was nearly double the average.
Much higher volumes on Friday and Monday. Already over 40M traded today. This is some big fund selling off or even Elon. Dont think retail can drive this kind of volume.
That would just be about $800M. Probably not enough. The overall volume doesnt seem that much higher. There was the other post couple pages back about the 24 hour restriction after 10Q. If thats true, he will start selling tomorrow at the earliest (if he needs to sell)
While this is annoying if he is selling to raise funds for TWTR, I would much rather he sell and close this transaction as opposed to having a margin loan on his TSLA shares as originally planned. That would have kept this whole TWTR overhang in perpetuity. This whole saga is such a stupid...
Guess deliveries will be delayed due to Ian. Have a VIN and EDD oct 5-15 but cannot schedule delivery yet. Ordered LR in march, changed to P in early Sept.
- Ordered MY LR Blue in 1st week of March. EDD kept bouncing and was 4 week window into Nov in early Sept.
- Switched to MYP in 1st week of Sep. After few days, window shortened to 2 weeks.
- Got VIN on 9/26 with EDD Oct 5-15. Fremont build.
- Waiting to schedule delivery
Tesla got back to me finally and stated current insurance is fine. Uploaded that, got the MVPA and forwarded to Everence. Now waiting on a delivery date. States Oct 5-15 in FL
Hello,
I ordered a MY LR blue in March, upgraded to MYP in the 1st week of Sept. Just got a VIN. I already am approved through Everence for the loan. Do i upload my current car insurance or have to buy one for the MY? What are the next steps? Please advise. Thanks!
Well if thats all you cared about if it was slander or not, interesting that the original post by ZeApelido about the tweet had 1 disagree only..guess who?
We get it you hate Elon but come on, this is painfully obvious. His family owned a SHARE of the mine which made barely a 2x return on the investment. The tweet clearly implies that the mine is the main reason Elon is a billionaire. Also just lazily links it to apartheid when Elon and even his...

Lol! So if Ford completed and sold more vehicles AND had less expenses, then their earnings would be fine. No *sugar* Sherlock! Excellent rationalization.
I have Blue MY on order. It was a LR, upgraded to P last week. EDD went from Oct-Nov to a 12 day window this month. Does the 12 day (as opposed to a 14 day) window mean much?
Unfortunately, need a car sooner, so couldnt wait any more. Plus, no guarantee about even November. Atleast, price was based one before the last increases...silver lining I guess.
Curious, how much money did you lose due to the fact that prices have gone up and you ordered a MYP now? Basically, how was your LR valued? Do you get an extra adjustment for the fact that a comparable MY LR is now costlier?
I ordered a blue MY LR in March. As expected the delivery windows have been moving all over, now at Oct-Dec. I am considering editing the order to expedite the delivery because I need the car in Oct for sure. So, would you recommend upgrading to MYP+EAP (~10k extra) or keeping LR but adding FSD...
