Car wrapped - Parking sensors not working

Strange update today. The car was parked in the sun while my wife was at work, and when she came home the front sensors were working just fine. However, later in the evening, they stopped working again. It seems that heat might be a factor?

Car wrapped - Parking sensors not working

Thanks for the tip. I'll take a look. However, I did put the car into service mode and looked under the camera and sensor section, and all the sensors had green lights. I'm thinking that it means that they're connected?

Car wrapped - Parking sensors not working

I'm not going to do this myself, the installer is going to do it. The reason I came on this forum is simply for knowledge. Perhaps I can pick up some tips that I can pass on to the installer? No harm in that. You don't find it strange that all the sensors on the back and the sides work except...

Car wrapped - Parking sensors not working

My installer told me that almost all Teslas work fine, but they get the odd one that doesn't work. He told me to try it out to make sure everything works fine, and if there's any issues, they will look into it. I find it strange why most don't have issues with the front sensors, but the odd...

Car wrapped - Parking sensors not working

I recently had my model y vinyl wrapped and now the front parking sensors are no longer working. The back sensors still work. From looking online, some people are saying to cut around the front sensors on the bumper. What exactly does that mean? Do I leave the vinyl on inside of the circle, and...

    Front Parking Sensor Not Working?

Just for clarification. I'm having the same problem, and I'm wondering where exactly the cut needs to be. After the cut, is the inside of the circle wrapped? Do I just need to remove the wrap around the "ring" area. Like just take a knife into the edge of the circle and work it around?

Anyone have problems after heat pump sensor replacement?

Has anyone noticed that there was more vibration when the heat turns on after they replaced the heat pump sensors? I'm getting mine changed out this week preemptively, but I recall reading on Facebook about people complaining about vibrations being felt in the steering wheel when the AC turns...

Picture of your Model Y - Right Now!

I bought them locally in the Vancouver area from a distributor (Kaiben Wheels) who is active on Facebook Marketplace. They cost $1095 Canadian ($885 US dollars). I'll message you his phone number. He had the wheels in stock when I bought them a few weeks ago, and has free delivery in the...

    Replika R241 Wheels

Thank you. Do you know if it actually says the word Replika somewhere on the rim? There is someone selling a used set, but I'm not sure if they're Replika or a knock off.

    Replika R241 Wheels

They don't have the r241 19x8.5 wheels I'm looking for. Any idea how long the Backorder is? I'm considering just getting the 9.5 if the wait is too long. Thanks

Why choose 8.5" wheel over a 9.5"? (Aftermarket)

So, would replika r241 19x8.5 +40 offset stick out further than the original geminis? A wider stance would look cool, even slightly

Why choose 8.5" wheel over a 9.5"? (Aftermarket)

I have not come across a definitive answer as to the pros and cons of getting an 8.5" wheel over a 9.5"? I'm looking at Replika r241 19"x8. 5"... although the stock wheel is 9.5, I see many people choosing 8.5.... Does the 8.5 with +40 offset stick out a little further? Does it look better...

GPS is showing me in the wrong country!

For some strange reason today, my GPS is showing that I am in Oregon USA. I live in Vancouver Canada. It is showing me in some random farm area in Oregon, and when I drive around, the GPS is still moving around, the red arrow is directly driving over top of neighborhoods and houses in Oregon as...

Cost of 50 amp circuit and Nema 14-50 Plug installation in SFBay area (Oakland)?

But doesn't that go both ways? The homeowner has to pay so much money for mortgage payments. I live in the Vancouver area, which has an insane housing market, and in my neighbourhood houses are selling between 1.3 and 1.5 million dollars (7 years ago these same houses were $600,000). I...

Cost of 50 amp circuit and Nema 14-50 Plug installation in SFBay area (Oakland)?

This is incredible! I don't see how an electrician can ask someone for $300/ hour with a straight face! Here in the Canada, I payed around $225 (US dollars) to get a 14-50 installed, parts and labor. This was for a conduit running from one side of the garage to the other, around 20 ft. I went...

How much am I paying to charge my car? Is this accurate?

I am new to the whole electric charging world, and was hoping someone could answer a simple question. When I look at the usage information on my car (swipe left from the tire pressure tab) , it says I drove 1,400km and used 227kw.. Now, my electricity provider charges around $0.10/kw...so to...

Are you sure that the Tesla range rating is based on charging to 90%? Where can I find this information?

    Home EV Charger install Vancouver?

Personally, I think the cost should be based on how long it takes to get the work done. Electricians will charge around $60-70 per hour. If it is a pretty straightforward job, the parts will cost around $150-$200, and add the labour costs to that (including about 1 hour for electrician to pick...

Strange "rumbling" noise...Tesla claims it's normal?

I was able to reduce the rumbling noise significantly by adjusting the rubber stoppers on the hatch (randomly). I then wanted to show my wife a before and after, and tightened the stoppers back up. I now can't get it back to the same low level of noise as before! I should have left it when I...

Strange "rumbling" noise...Tesla claims it's normal?

Thank you @JHCCAZ and @Pianewman for your advice. Much appreciated. I was thinking of just setting up a service call, but I dread to hear the words "it's within spec". I've never dealt with Tesla before, but in the past with other companies it seems that I can figure things out better on my...

Strange "rumbling" noise...Tesla claims it's normal?

I bought a 2021 Model Y SR, 2 days ago. I noticed that when I'm driving around, or even parked and have the heat on, there is a strange low frequency, "rumbling/ deep humming sound". The sound is quite annoying, and seems to come off and on intermittently. I noticed that when I'm sitting in the...

Elon Musk: Model Y will outsell the Model S, X, and 3 COMBINED... really?

I guess I was basing my opinion on just from what I see in the streets. Here in Vancouver Canada, I barely ever see a Model Y, but I see model 3s EVERYWHERE. Now that I think of it, with the recent price drop due to the rear wheel drive version, the price gap between the model 3 and Y has...

Elon Musk: Model Y will outsell the Model S, X, and 3 COMBINED... really?

When Elon Musk announced the model Y, he claimed that it will outsell all the other Teslas combined. I can't see that happening. I don't even see that many Model Ys around, compared to the Model 3. I know the model 3 has been around longer, but do you actually see this happening? I find it hard...

Canada $5000 federal incentive for Model Y?

It's strange that Vancouver is releasing them. How about other provinces? Alberta? Saskatchewan? I changed my delivery from Thursday to Monday, to be on the safe side. I'm considering asking for Saturday delivery if there's a slot available so that I can enjoy the car on the weekend, but not...

Canada $5000 federal incentive for Model Y?

In Vancouver, the deliveries have already began. I find it strange why certain provinces are holding back on deliveries. Tesla seems pretty tight-lipped, but it all depends on the salesperson. The thing I wonder is... are some salespeople also getting caught up in "just rumours"?
  29. S

Canada $5000 federal incentive for Model Y?

All they said is that if a future Federal incentive does come, I can't get it. They're pretty tight-lipped, and aren't getting into too many details. they are basically using the generic line "we don't have any further information"

Canada $5000 federal incentive for Model Y?

I'm picking mine up on Thursday in Vancouver. I've been told there will be no federal incentive, but they also added that if the incentive comes later, I will not be eligible to receive it. Was hoping for more of a yes or no answer from Tesla.

Canada $5000 federal incentive for Model Y?

Looks like no federal incentive, unfortunately. People on the Canadian Model Y Facebook page are receiving calls for delivery this coming week... They are being told "no federal incentive"

Wait? You actually have the standard range in possession? I thought it wasn't being delivered to anyone until February 8th?

Canada $5000 federal incentive for Model Y?

Technically, if the Model 3 sr is eligible for the 5k federal rebate, the model y should be too (using the same software locked battery loophole) I've heard the government of Canada was not happy with Tesla for using this loophole for the Model 3. I can imagine other manufacturers being upset...

Canada $5000 federal incentive for Model Y?

It seems that Tesla sales people are not too optimistic that this is going to go through. I have spoken to two different sales people, and both of them said chances are low, but Tesla is definitely trying to get the federal rebate.

How are the Replika r241 wheels for the Model Y?

Great! Thanks everyone for the tips. I think I'm going to go with the 20" r241 with 8.5 width. Would that look good? It basically means the tire will not be as perpendicular to the ground, right? (the tire will stick out a little bit?) Does that mean that it will not be as high, and there will...

How are the Replika r241 wheels for the Model Y?

They seem to be priced very low ($1100 Canadian for a set of 4). They look pretty amazing Google, what does anyone know how they will hold up? They don't have the 9.5 width, it's either 8.5 or 10...which would be better? (with the 255/40r/20). Here's the link: Replika - R241 Wheels - Satin...

Aggressive Regenerative Braking in new RWD?

Yesterday was literally the first time I've ever driven a Tesla, so I guess I'm just not used to it. I ordered the model Y standard range, so I'm gonna have to get used to it (which I probably will within a couple of days) I still wonder if the regenerative braking is stronger on this new model...

Aggressive Regenerative Braking in new RWD?

I just called Tesla in Vancouver, and they said that the 2021 model 3 and model Y no longer have the option to change the setting on the regenerative braking (can't select between low and standard). I'm not very happy about that. The model 3 I test drove yesterday was the 2020 version, and I...

Aggressive Regenerative Braking in new RWD?

I didn't even look at the regen settings, the salesperson didn't even mention it when I told them I want to minimize that regenerative braking. She just told me to put the setting on creep, so I assumed that was for the regenerative braking, but I guess there is another setting for the regen...

Aggressive Regenerative Braking in new RWD?

I test drove my first Tesla today (both the Model Y standard range RWD, followed by an AWD Model 3). I noticed that even in creep mode, the regenerative braking seemed "harsher" on the model Y (the car would brake harder and slow down more when I let go of the accelerator. I then drove the...
