    [UK] Price cuts

So do we feel this is now the price for the medium to long term, or do you think prices will hike again later this year or next? i did Read that Musk wanted to bring the car to the masses.

Switching to Octopus Go (from British Gas)

Only just had a British Gas smart meter fitted last week which the engineer stated would be compatible with all others, which now seems isn't the case with Octopus after reading all this. Does anyone else use the British Gas EV tariff which seemed to suggest very low charging off peak rates...

    Tesla Model 2

Been waiting ages for the MY, so can't see anything coming here for 2/3 years, and I'd doubt it would be much under the 28K mark.

Before buying your Tesla, did you ever Test Drive one?

My test drive is booked in for two weeks time in Birmingham. Thus far the staff have been so helpful, so will be interested to see how the contactless process all works. Seems we get around 45 mins in total.

    BP Pulse price changes

In the next handful of years it will cost the same to charge your car as what it costs at the fuel pumps. Public charging seems to be increasing quarterly, and it won’t be that far away where governments start to implement a taxing model to replace what they lose from Vat on fuel.

    Model Y - UK deliveries

What’s the thought on possible prices for the U.K.?
  7. Mperkins28

    Model Y - UK deliveries

Looks like I will be ordering a M3 then. Still a lot of unknowns at the moment, including the price. Can only see it being 5K/10K more than the corresponding M3 versions.

Tesla Referral Scheme to change again

From an insurance perspective I just can’t see that happening. Way too much hassle for the owner if you ask me.

Tesla Test Drives in the UK . .

Is the Solihull option still available, or has Tesla now disbanded that centre?

    £500 SR+ M3 insurance hike?!?!?

It was £1700 originally? Are they that much extra to insure then compared to ICE cars?
  11. Mperkins28

    Why I bought a SR+

All useful Information. My reason for purchasing a M3 SR+ later this year is we only do around 7,000 per year with a small daily commute. Also, being honest the SR+ is at the top of affordability for us at this present time, so it’s basically that or no Tesla. I’m really looking forward to...

Wiki UK 2021 Orders and Pending Deliveries

Hi All, Not sure whether this is the correct session, so hope it’s ok. When replacing my current car in March 2022, I’ve decided to go with a M3. Not sure whether this will be purchase or lease at the moment. I’ve been told by a leasing company that Tesla only deliver in the last month of...

    Order Question

Hi all. When replace my current car in March 2022, I’ve decided to go with a M3. Not sure whether this will be purchase or lease at the moment. I’ve been told by a leasing company that Tesla only deliver in the last month of each financial quarter, so if I need a car early next year they...

    Model 3 Leasing UK

Update : gateway2lease have now updated their site and the cost of the M3 lease has dropped significantly since the price reduction.
  15. Mperkins28

    Model 3 Leasing UK

It doesn’t look like many if any lease companies have passed on the reduced price of the M3. Whether this is temporary I’m not sure. However they certain increased the costs quickly when they went up.
  16. Mperkins28

    Tesla EU price drops

So unless I’m seeing it wrong, it appears the M3 SR has had the price reduced based on Tesla‘s site.

Model 3 was 4th best selling car in March 2021

Be interesting to see if the grant removal significantly slows those sales from now on.
  18. Mperkins28

    Model 3 Leasing UK

They‘re the cheapest I’ve seen since the government grant removal. Maybe they were all purchased before that hence the deals? Not sure. If leasing can’t see the issue with pre registered. if these deals are still around nearer the end of the year, that’s where I’ll be heading. thanks for...

Non-Tesla recommendations for 2nd cheaper EV

That’s true. All Tesla’s new or used seems more expensive in the uk compared to other countries.
  20. Mperkins28

Wiki UK 2021 Orders and Pending Deliveries

Be interesting to see the UK sales on M3 going forward with all grants removed. The M3SR + now looks expensive compared to the LR. I wonder if Tesla might look at other incentives should the market dip?
  21. Mperkins28

    Model 3 Leasing UK

Yes agree. The M3SR + seems expensive now. The LR looks the better value. Would be interesting to see how that £3000 increase has affected sales since the uplift. I know of two people that were ready to purchase but are now holding fire to see if prices drop in the coming months.

Anyone comparing the e-tron GT to the Model S

A basic and probably silly question, but without the Tesla supercharging infrastructure how easy / difficult would it be to do longer trips in these cars compared to the Tesla for example?
  23. Mperkins28

Wiki UK 2021 Orders and Pending Deliveries

Good news. Yes I’m going to wait for things to settle down, plus I’m tied into my currently lease till the end of the year.

That was a good deal. Was that a business lease?

Higher value EVs not eligible for £3,000 PiCG (grant) anymore!

I’ve a feeling from April Tesla might offer some additional incentives for new purchases.
  29. Mperkins28

Higher value EVs not eligible for £3,000 PiCG (grant) anymore!

Wouldn't shock me if they've added these increases to then reduce some of it back off after April.
  30. Mperkins28

Wiki UK 2021 Orders and Pending Deliveries

No they haven't. See their website now.
  31. Mperkins28

Higher value EVs not eligible for £3,000 PiCG (grant) anymore!

Yes was over 4 years, so basically that increase is the £3000 uplift give or take a few quid. that will ruin the lease market
  32. Mperkins28

Higher value EVs not eligible for £3,000 PiCG (grant) anymore!

Yes agree. The base M3 SR+ seems expensive now.
  33. Mperkins28

Higher value EVs not eligible for £3,000 PiCG (grant) anymore!

Just checked now on gateway2lease. The same car and details now is just over £80 a month more. I’m afraid that’s me out. Absolutely gutted.
  34. Mperkins28

Higher value EVs not eligible for £3,000 PiCG (grant) anymore!

I tend to agree. I think a lot of potential customers, especially at the M3 SR+ end will now look elsewhere. Myself for one wouldn’t be able to take another £60/£80 increase a month into the finance now. Gutted 😞
  35. Mperkins28

Higher value EVs not eligible for £3,000 PiCG (grant) anymore!

No nor me. I think we’ll be picking up the tab.
  36. Mperkins28

Higher value EVs not eligible for £3,000 PiCG (grant) anymore!

Fingers crossed then. Nearly a £5,500 increase from 2019 if it does get added.
  37. Mperkins28

Higher value EVs not eligible for £3,000 PiCG (grant) anymore!

Interestingly, most leasing companies such as gateway2lease are now not showing the prices, as obviously they don’t know. It seems this came out the blue for everybody, Tesla included.
  38. Mperkins28

Higher value EVs not eligible for £3,000 PiCG (grant) anymore!

Ouch. This could really hit the lease market. That 3k over the term of the lease, which say is 3 years is like putting another £80 on the monthly figure. This will massive help the likes of the VW ID3.

Wow, that’s crazy really. You’d think we’d be going the other way.
  41. Mperkins28

Higher value EVs not eligible for £3,000 PiCG (grant) anymore!

Apparently the Tesla site has NOT been updated as yet to reflect this change.
  42. Mperkins28

Higher value EVs not eligible for £3,000 PiCG (grant) anymore!

Depends on how you look at it. As someone that was looking to replace my current diesel leased motor at the end of year, I was literally at the limit of affordability for the M3 SR+, so the grant just made it achievable. Sadly, now it might be back to the drawing board unless Tesla drop the...
