    Salary Sacrifice Age

Tusker is the only option I have through work via local government, and comparably to other salary sacrifice schemes, is eye wateringly expensive unless you’re on executive salaries (which feels inverse to how it should be - earn less greater benefits, earn more why do you need to save more?)...

Wiki UK 2021 Orders and Pending Deliveries

So, I had my order cancelled earlier in the year, and I’m now looking to place a new order for a M3LR. What time frames are we looking at for the next delivery/boat please?

    M3P - performance drop-off issue

Hi, just curious how the performance drop-off is progressing in the community? Did Tesla release an OTA fix, or is it still an issue where the horsepower drops as it gets a little cooler, or the battery % diminishes? still in two-minds whether to go M3P or M3LR (heart vs head!).

    Model 3 Leasing UK

The business leases are galling in the variation. My manager can get the same vehicle for nearly £150 per month less than what I would pay. (I'm a manager too!).

TWC Charger Queries - how does it work?

I’m sensing that Zappi might be the better option! how long was the wait versus what was quoted? Did you use your own Electrician or a Zappi referred one? Also, is it obviously tamper proof? From what I’ve seen it could be possible for someone to press the buttons on the EV point?

Model 3 (not so!) Long range

^ This is my logic. Unless I'm on a work commute from North England to South Wales, I will rarely go further than 150miles without a stop. If I did, I'd be getting cramp or my legs would start to ache, not to mention various biological functions needing to happen (eat/drink/wee).

TWC Charger Queries - how does it work?

I'm looking at getting a Wall Charger (likely a TWC gen.3). My trusted electrician has been out to inspect where we are wanting it, and the state of play with power-usage and available capacity in our consumer unit, however he said it is likely we won't be able to do much charging when...

Tusker is eye-watering. My M3P (48 month, 10k miles pa, insurance, tax, servicing, tyres, breakdown and redundancy/quit employment cover) is £690 p/m.

    Tesla Forum - Confused

I think the issue largely stems from the price and people's expectations. They forget that this is relatively cutting-edge tech, and the largest investment has been made in the gadgetry, motors and batteries, not in the traditional areas such as refinement - which is often all an ICE car can...

    Model 3 Leasing UK

As far as I am aware, the vehicles aren't owned by the business, but the leasing company. A lot of business lease hire schemes have certain covers integrated, such as for me, if I get fired, or if I get a better job elsewhere and leave, or if my position gets made redundant, the vehicle is...

    Model 3 Leasing UK

I was in a similar boat to you, weighing up the best way forward. In the end, I opted for business lease (via salary sacrifice) as it covers insurance (which can be eye-watering) and also gives me a bigger target should the vehicle have any issues. My lease is over 48months so I'm hoping it...

VINs and Vehicle Deliveries - where is my car?

Haha. Good effort. I'm all sold up and now sharing my missus' Golf. I say 'share', but obviously I drive us everywhere in it. It's a shame that my wait is going to be 3-5 months though. Good job I can throw the funds at debt and get it cleared in the meantime 👍

Home Charge Points Discussion and Suggestions [megathread]

Just be mindful that if you 'qualify' for the OLEV, an approved installer will likely have factored this into their original calculations, so you'll reap no benefit from the OLEV, except to offset greedy installers upping their price because of the grant. Cynical I know, but this is how it...

UK Model 3 Performance 2021 Waiting Room

Are people still excited despite the potential issue from the vehicle power reducing quite drastically past 50% SOC where the M3LR actually becomes more powerful than the M3P, or are you hopeful Tesla will address this issue?

    Autopilot - Explanation needed

This is the same with VWs and Audis we've had in the past. Approaching a railway bridge with a low sun, and the car slams on the brakes thinking it will 'hit' the shadow.
  24. Mattallica

M3 LR severe fishtailing under heavy braking

It could be several things, most expected reason would be that the back is trying to achieve greater speed than the front, either through acceleration, lack of grip, poor suspension setup (incl. toe/camber) or bad tyres (incl. pressures).

So What Do We Think Of The Polestar 2?

I'm sure they're well built, but I found the cabin to be too small for me. Head touching the interior roof, and eyes almost in-line with the sun-visors. Also, 2.3tonnes is no laughing matter - how that can be economical or efficient, I'll never know. The big let down was the XC40 chassis. If...

  28. Mattallica

M3 LR severe fishtailing under heavy braking

Braking shouldn’t normally cause any lateral motion. If friction was either extreme high or low you’d get ABS to prevent unnecessary skidding. Makes you wonder if front was braking and rear motor was still in drive mode? Do you think you hit both pedals?

    Performance not performing

What is the caveat with Track Day Mode? Does it invalidate warranties? Or is it the equivalent of M-mode or Sports Mode on other cars (tunes suspension, sharpens throttle and steering, and in this case, tunes the car vicariously through the battery?).
  32. Mattallica

    Performance not performing

Tesla continually develops and refines existing components even with just a few months between models. The Heatpump, being a relatively new addition to the M3 will undoubtedly have been through at least one refining iteration since the main poster bought his car. Perhaps wishful thinking, but...
  33. Mattallica

    Performance not performing

Well, I think regardless of the LR comparisons, Tesla have a duty to address this issue as the performance shouldn't be such a sensitive element. We will have to see what the new batches from China do when it comes to the batteries and power delivery when at 50%> SOC and/if cold.
  34. Mattallica

    0-60 in 1.1s?

Not quite sure if that would ever be road legal ... 10000psi out the rear is a lot of pressure. Imagine being stood behind it when it engaged 'full steam ahead' mode. You'd be thrown half a mile and flayed.
  35. Mattallica

    Performance not performing

It isn't a good advert, no. But as @Adopado says above, it could just a software update away from being resolved - cutdown on the scavenge, or accept some lifespan loss of SOC at the expense of performance. Makes you wonder what the Taycan does to mitigate this issue, mindful that they are...
  36. Mattallica

    Performance not performing

Makes you wonder if you pre-heated the car and battery prior to setting off what the difference would be. The big shift away from LR was that the brakes overheat easier, and when looking at business leases, you wouldn't be able to purchase the boost package, so you'd never be able to get...

    Solar Roof, big price increase

The costs are insane. This was marketed as being lighter, cheaper and better environmentals than stand roofing methods (in the UK, shale roof tiles). At those costs it is around 400% more expensive than standard roofing shale tiles.

TWC Gen 3 (Tesla Wall connector) for the UK

TWC Gen 3 (Tesla Wall connector) for the UK

Judging from the Tesla Shop it looks like i'm in no rush as they're out of stock, and on top of this, I don't have a VIN so I cannot place an order (ordered via Business Lease company, so I won't get confirmation for a long long time).

Model 3 charging is draining the powerwall

Well that is good to hear. There are no objects or foliage blocking our E-W roof facing to the sky. Only caveat is that the unused chimney is on the south-side of the roof, so that would potentially shade a different series of panels most of the day, much like a sundial.

TWC Gen 3 (Tesla Wall connector) for the UK

The concern for me is if we get another car that isn't a Tesla. I.e. the missus swaps her ICE for a VW BEV, or if my next one isn't a Tesla. We will need to install another one won't we?

Model 3 charging is draining the powerwall

How much did the powerwall and panels cost you? We have a small 4-bed detached (sadly E-W facing roofs) and I'm so very tempted to join this party.
