    2022 Model X Plaid 30k miles, 19 month review

Didn't feel a difference. Just saw the difference in the 60' time. MPH was also down a little. BTW, I bought a used set of Slipstream wheels (and painted them flat black) with Conti tires and raced and was back in the 9.80's, at least for 1 run.

    2022 Model X Plaid 30k miles, 19 month review

I went with NEXEN tires when I replaced my tires around 30k miles because of the mileage warranty (70k miles) on the Nexens. The Nexens are also cheaper than the factory Continentals ($210 each at Walmart) and they are just as quiet as the Continentals. I can't see any difference in the way the...

    $35 solution for peeling yoke.

Not bad looking for $35. BTW, they do offer the cover with black thread. I chose red as the car is red.

    $35 solution for peeling yoke.

The Yoke on my 2022 MX Plaid is peeling really bad. Opened a service ticket and was told that they don't have any improved yokes available. So, it may be a while until I get the replacement. Found a cheap solution for the peeling yoke For $35 on Amazon, I got this vinyl yoke cover. It's a pain...

Peeling Yoke warranty replacement - updated materials?

I opened a service request to replace my Yoke for the 2nd time and I got a call from Tesla. The guy told me that no Yokes are available as of right now for 2023 and older Model X or S at this point. I was told that the owners of those vehicles will get notified (even if out of warranty) and all...

Peeling Yoke warranty replacement - updated materials?

Does anyone know if Tesla already has an updated yoke with better material for warranty replacements? My first yoke was replaced 12 months ago and the replacement yoke started peeling again 3 months ago.. Makes no sense to replace with a yoke with a yoke using the same material.

I continue to be amazed at the hatred for EVs

If you look at taxation in those states, It's not government who pays for those investments. They steal your money via taxation first and then give you a fraction of it back in freebies. I rather have less taxes and private business investing in infrastructure. Every time government gets...

Changes in Tesla Service - No More Loaner for Out of Warranty Cars

I wonder how they will handle for example battery replacement after 50k miles but before the end of the 150k mile battery warranty? I would hope that you would get a loaner in that case.

Not sure why, but after 30k miles right now, range from new has only dropped 11 miles from 333 to 322. That's a 3.3% drop in rated range in 19 months.

    2022 Model X Plaid 30k miles, 19 month review

I charge twice a week, Wednesday and Saturday to 90%, mixing in some small charges at local free chargers at places I frequent. Wednesday we usually have lunch at a Vietnamese Restaurant and there is a free 50kw CCS charger a block away. On road trips, I actually charge to high SoC to have...

    2022 Model X Plaid 30k miles, 19 month review

Not hypermiling. I live in Florida and virtually don't use the climate control in 7 months, October to April. Even in summer, early morning drives are with just the fan blowing. No AC. No heater use in winter. Tires at 47 to 48 psi. Most of my miles are from my commute. Autopilot set to 75 but...

30000 mile review of my 2022 Model X Plaid. Just over 19 months of ownership and 30k miles so far and I enjoyed every single mile. Now for the good and the bad. 2022 Model X Plaid - warm air coming out of vents with heater off

I set driving mode to SPORT on my way home and turned on the fan and the air came out of the vents cold (outside temp). Conclusion is that the HVAC is heating the battery for PLAID mode and the octovalve sends some of that heat to the cabin if the fan is on.

2022 Model X Plaid - warm air coming out of vents with heater off

This morning was a fairly chilly morning in Central Florida (45 degrees this morning). They can't really align the camber as it's fixed. The only way to change the camber is shims/washers or aftermarket adjustable camber arms. The toe arms are adjustable but not the camber.

I like Nexen tires on my Model X

I know that this post is over a year old but I can answer that as I just switched to NEXEN Roadian GTX tires on my 2022 Model X Plaid. I don't find them to be more noisy.. They are quiet enough for my needs. Handling seems fine as well. As far as efficiency goes, they do consume over 5% more...

Great race with the Model X Plaid at the Drag Strip last Sunday

Alternate tire sizes for Model X Plaid?

I frequently drag race and it appears that you can't get Drag Radials in the sizes that come with the Model X Plaid. I was thinking in getting a set of wheels and install 275/40R20 in front and 295/40R20 Nitto Drag Radials in the rear. Those would have a slightly smaller diameter. Based on...

Great race with the Model X Plaid at the Drag Strip last Sunday

I had over $100k into a '68 Vette Drag car. It was capable of high 8's with the full 250 shot of nitrous but I never ran more than a 100 shot and ran low 9's with the 100 shot of nitrous. I realized that power is not what's expensive.. Strength is expensive.. Most money went into a stronger...

Model X Long Range vs Plaid

I came from a Model Y Long Range which is less than half of the price of the Plaid. I bought the Model X Plaid for the acceleration. No other reason.. The Model Y was great for everything else but I wanted a 9 second 1/4 mile SUV.

Unusual capacity/range gain on 2022 Model X Plaid

no change to charging habits. I usually don't charge at home as I have access to free CCS as well as destination chargers.. I charge about 50% on CCS chargers and 50% on destination chargers. Once in a while I run the battery as low as 15% but most of the time, I charge at 40 - 50% back up to 90%

So, I've owned my 2022 Model X Plaid for 16 months and 23200 miles. I do have an OBD2 dongle and SCANMYTESLA app, so I keep a close look at my battery capacity/degradation and 100% range. I just installed washers on my 2 rear camber rods. My tire wear on the inside is pretty bad but not horrible yet. The worst thing that can happen is that I get even worse tire wear. It's worth a try. Very easy to install the washers. 15 mins of work each side.
