    VIN729 - BSM: Contact power failure (ID:721)

This might help, not 100% sure, just looking at my old notes, see if any ones are different than the others. BMB connector Pins 4, (16 to gnd) Temp resistor 1, measue to Pin 15 on MCU. 6, (18 to gnd) Temp resistor 2, measue to Pin 22 on MCU. 8, (20 to gnd) Temp resistor 3...

    VIN729 - BSM: Contact power failure (ID:721)

Yep I've encountered bad BMB reporting bad temps. Though I was lazy and just used another BMB instead. I'm sure it would have been easy to fix though.

Charging parameters reset - what happened?

Also doesn't the VMS uses GPS via serial to keep track of charging preferences at locations? Maybe GPS sent invalid/wrong info at the time? your GPS firmware been updated?

    Troubleshooting: 1115 & 1116 alerts

I've had higher PEM/motor temps due to fan blowers bearings going bad (as they spin slower) and got PEM temp errors. Also I could notice it when charging that the blower fans were making louder noises/spinning slower. After replacing the fans I no longer saw the temp issues.

Charging parameters reset - what happened?

Flash going bad could cause it to crash/reboot. i.e. VMS Fflash replacement Or maybe bad code was hit, and crashed the process, and the watchdog rebooted it.

    VIN729 - BSM: Contact power failure (ID:721)

Odd order of investigating. Anyways for "it shows one of the brick is -104 degree Celsius," it's either the temp sensor in the sheet or BMB on that sheet. Curious which shop is doing the work?

iphone batteries all use these higher voltage cutoffs, and they all have predictive degrade curve over use. You can see the delta voltage difference here in mah. https://www.thunderheartreviews.com/2018/08/li-ion-435v-vs-420v-sanyo-ur18650zta.html

    3.0 Battery Longevity

Power output limiting for ESS is often due to low battery SOC, high/low Temps, or lowest brick voltage, for which I don't see on your photos. Next up would be to look at Motor temp, and PEM temp on the screens next time you drive when it has lower kw output.

    HVAC isolation fault

2.0 Roadster's HVAC units, the power status LED is at HV battery levels, and is super close to the frame of the car. Oversight for sure, as it can cause Isolation faults when you key on the car. Fix is either disconnect the LED, or relocate the LED and use light-pipe for proper HV clearance.

Help: VIN 729 Roadster not starting, VMD-VDS communication fault

That is super weird, busybox removing these files? Only way I can think of when these files are touched is doing a forced update over CAN (that gets interrupted). On b) no easy way to do that via the VDS, can you program OVMS in to telnet in (over CAN) to issue the VMS shutdown command?

Yes there is only 1 microswitch. when you put down the handle you should hear a slight click of the microswitch. Also when you first plug in the service disconnect do you hear a slight pop sound? It's the spark created from of the battery charging up the caps in the APS. Also you can open the...

Safely trickle charge a bricked pack in/out of car - solution

The car will balance when the car is off, and battery pack is near full, check service menu and look at balancing grid to see when it's balancing. If car can't self balance after a week or so, then likely bad cell in that brick.

    The Wrecked Roadster Registry

If I'm seeing the picture that correctly I'm seeing 20v for the closest sheet.. that is 2.2v per brick/cell, they really should be monitoring every brick voltage as they charge, which they don't seem to be doing. That would place it beyond my comfort/safety levels inside an shop.

    VMS Fflash replacement

Just FYI, if you have flash going out, you can pull the flash ic, dump it, then reflash to new one and then solder back in. From what I can tell the flash isn't written very often, mostly it's just logs, and it's filesystem i think uses wear-leveling.

    UK-Based Expertise

Nice that's it out, and you have HV experience, you can take the front cover off, and you then can measure each sheet voltages (there is 11 of them). Once you have those numbers it should give you more information on what to do next.

The only Battery Answer you will ever need! [Personal Opinion]

Wow lots of misinformation here... others will correct you. The BMS will handle a lot, but simply put the End user can control cycle count, SOC, and pack temp (somewhat i.e. garaged or not) that directly affects SOH of the battery.
