    Non-OEM tire recommendations

OEM Conti tires need replacing, and I would like some advice. My main concern is will replacing with non-OEM tires damage the drivetrain? Was disappointed the new Michelin ClimateControl 2 didn't come in the LR tire size (255/45/19), I was really looking forward to the PIANO feature in the tire...

Aaaaaand driver's side rear door won't open. . .AGAIN.

Wife had another flat tire in her Tesla (driver front) due to debris. Towed to Tesla service. Left them key card. When car was picked up, key card wasn't there, and wife forgot to ask them about it. Then, I discovered the driver's side rear door won't open. Last time the door card had popped...

Ugh. 36 minutes to charge 110mi at a Supercharger (1.5 hours including drive of 24 miles roundtrip)

I've always taken ICE fuel gauges as suggestions rather than exact, so I'm pretty forgiving about the MY's mileage and capacity gauges as well. My question is are the predictors linear or do they follow some kind of curve? For example, on every car I've ever owned, the first quarter tank was...

Ugh. 36 minutes to charge 110mi at a Supercharger (1.5 hours including drive of 24 miles roundtrip)

So, the mileage is a serving suggestion, and the %-age is a list of ingredients. In any case, guests try my souffle at their peril! 😂 Oh, and I just went for a charge at the same station. Charging took substantially less time, and all stalls were open. So perhaps the short charge time was...

Ugh. 36 minutes to charge 110mi at a Supercharger (1.5 hours including drive of 24 miles roundtrip)

Thank you for this! I'll be the first to admit that the Force is not strong in me. We've learned that the mileage counter is merely a suggestion, as they also are in ICEs.

Ugh. 36 minutes to charge 110mi at a Supercharger (1.5 hours including drive of 24 miles roundtrip)

This is possible that the large number of people charging had an affect, but I'm not so sure because by the time I reached the 4th attempt, it charged just fine. Tonight, I charged very very quickly. There was a service tech who was fixing the charging station. He and I had a good conversation...

FS: Like new Arachnids + Michelin Super Sports, in Philly

So, a temporal misunderstanding on my part after the ad was corrected. 😎

FS: Like new Arachnids + Michelin Super Sports, in Philly

Perhaps my reading of it is incorrect, but I think he states they're "like new," as distinguished from "new." Am I splitting the hair even further?

Found the rattling noise! 2nd row seatbelt housing

Feel your pain. Rattles are real hard to isolate because the sound bounces off so many surfaces and end up on the other side of the car.

Ugh. 36 minutes to charge 110mi at a Supercharger (1.5 hours including drive of 24 miles roundtrip)

Um. Not my car. I'll gingerly suggest this to the missus. I mean, she also knows better than to move the mirrors on my weekend cars. 😁 Is the discharge rate linear or is like the charge rate, greater at the beginning and tapers off after 80%? I mean, if you or anyone else might know.

Ugh. 36 minutes to charge 110mi at a Supercharger (1.5 hours including drive of 24 miles roundtrip)

Had to look up SOC. Neeeeeuuub here! Started at 150mi IIRC. Like I said, I'm a noob and keep track of things via the miles rather than percentage. It's a LR MY. I'll have to look at PlugShare. I'm not sure if Houston, Texas has much of that. @Rocky_H, it's the Westheimer location where their...

    Ambivalence towards MY

Weeeeeellll. . ."high water" is relative. I've driven through water that, for brief moments, crested at the bottom of my windshield and suffered about a gallon inside the car and nowhere else. No trim pieces fell off, but that's not saying much since the '92 Accord didn't have much trim on the...

Ugh. 36 minutes to charge 110mi at a Supercharger (1.5 hours including drive of 24 miles roundtrip)

Got the MY for the missus because her residency is 70mi away. So I stopped charging at 270mi to finish at home. 15A (ok, 12A) never felt so weak. 😣

Ugh. 36 minutes to charge 110mi at a Supercharger (1.5 hours including drive of 24 miles roundtrip)

Nearest SC is about 12mi away. Not a big deal. First charger charged fine for about 5min. Being new, I sat there thinking it'll get better. Unplug, plug. Unplug, plug. Went to a different station. No green light of joy. Actually, no light at all except for the red "Tesla" which should mean that...

    Ambivalence towards MY

I drove my friend's M3. Better, but felt marginally more engaging than my Prius (if only it had that kind of power). I tend to like livelier feel even at the expense of power, as my handle might suggest. 😎

    Ambivalence towards MY

$5k market adjustment?! May I make a "living with shame of having purchased an inferior" adjustment?! I think Tesla holds the EV crown and will do so for at least two more cycles. Tesla has more experience with battery longevity, charge/discharge, regeneration, etc. And I didn't even thing...

    Ambivalence towards MY

A legacy of Ferdinand Piech! Fit and finish on non-mechanicals is about all the VW group has on Tesla. I would trust the Tesla drivetrain for longevity much more than the VW group's. **VW stares helpless at Bosch** It's this part that most people will notice because we live with it every day...

    Ambivalence towards MY

Interesting. I figured the double pane was for weight and acoustics. . .but there are easier and less expensive ways to achieve both. So, safety makes sense. . .of course, now you've given me another topic for research because I don't know how this might affect safety. Thanks a hell of a lot for...

    Ambivalence towards MY

I think the competition for Tesla will likely come from the VW Group. They've basically taken the Tesla playbook and cribbed it. Tesla's refinement is so good that the Taycan can't compete with the LR MY. Besides the battery and drivetrain tech advantage Tesla has, I suspect Tesla's got a long...

    Ambivalence towards MY

10/10 agree with ownership experience. The delivery experience was no non-sense. The agent was there to answer questions if you had any and ready to leave you alone if you didn't (we didn't). Yes, the gift to our baby cost Tesla diddly/squat, but the amount of good-will it got from us in return...

    Ambivalence towards MY

Tl;dr. Great car, terrible build quality with cheap trim pieces. Good. If this is the future, I'm here for it (not that I have a choice about avoiding the future). Quiet (double panel glass). The power is so instant at any speed that I find myself thinking about doing reckless things (only on a...

Terminal block melted on HPWC Gen 2

That's it! THANK YOU!!! So this morning, I went to two shops to see if they might be able to fix this. The guy at the TV repair store looked at it and said this was the kind of stuff that interests him - novel problems. But he said he's so backlogged that it would take him 2mo to get to it...

Terminal block melted on HPWC Gen 2

Tl;dr. Thank you for such in-depth information! Can I get a new terminal block? First of all, I want to thank everyone for such insight. I had never heard of a torque screwdriver until now. And thinking about it, it makes sense. . .very few wires are solid core and a torque screwdriver will...
