That looks quite nice... I really dont see the drawbacks you are referring to. Yes, you have a lot of stuff up on that beam behind your garage door opener...but then you also don't have a cable laying across a walkway that people could potentially trip over..you know?

I guess that was my question.. so it seems like you don't require 60amp.....You can install on 50amp...and just get the lesser kW. He is telling me that he is not allowed by whatever authority to install this device on any circuit less than 60amp.

I hear you...but if i use my portable charger with a 14-50 outlet, then I still need to spend another $300 to buy one to keep in my vehicle....as I think plugging and unplugging from the 14-50 outlet on a regular basis is not suggested.

The "left wall" is an idea, but that is also a heavy traffic area for people coming into the house through the garage ...and my wife's car is kind of tall (with roof rack)...so rigging up a hanger might prove problematic. If you look at my wife's car (white on left) ...it only leaves about 16"...

Forgot to mention that its quite a tight space and I would not want to regularly attempt to back the car in, thus why i have not chosen a location on the back wall.
