    2024.8 shafted with FSD trial?

We should trade cars. We stopped using Autopilot due to all the fails and then decided to give it one more shot when FSD became free for a month. It's still glitched and unpredictable even in perfect conditions. Every update to FSD/Autopilot changes removes the ability to just engage cruise...

    Supercharger team sacked?

Sometimes we can't see genius vision for what it is and sometimes leaders think they can't make a bad decision. We're getting too much of the latter from Musk lately.

    Supercharger team sacked?

Elon is a micro manager. For better or worse. Lately, it's for worse.

    Supercharger team sacked?

That was my first thought too.

    Supercharger team sacked?

Is Henry still making cars? Talk about a long-living CEO.
  6. PassingLane

    Supercharger team sacked?

I don't that them. Why do you say that? I don't even hate Musk.
  7. PassingLane

    Supercharger team sacked?

I don't think it's the best car in the world. I still prefer driving my compact SUV over our Model 3. Autopilot is made more useless with each update and we can't turn the windshield wipers off. I don't like how Musk treats his employees and I don't agree with his political views. I don't feel...

    Supercharger team sacked?

We won't be buying another Tesla as long as Musk is at the helm. I think he wants a company with zero employees lol.

    First Long Road Trip

More than just nags. I’ve already received one strike. That was for grabbing a coffee from the cupholder. My wife and agreed we just won’t use autopilot anymore.

    First Long Road Trip

Argh. New problem just reared its ugly head. The seatbelt warning won’t go away for the left rear seat. We’ve had to connect the belt even though there’s nothing on the seat.

    First Long Road Trip

It will also turn off lane departure assistance very quickly when driving in a construction zone that forces one to drive on the shoulder. I get that but Telsa’s approach seems to be to shut off aids when a driver might most benefit from them.

    First Long Road Trip

No they aren’t (customer sat) at least if you believe Consumer Reports.

    First Long Road Trip

    I didn’t buy it. It’s the wife’s car.

    First Long Road Trip

Hi, good to hear. The wipers are returning to Auto mode when just using cruise. I stopped using Autopilot about two days ago. The wipers returning to Auto would be OK if they’d stop activating in sunshine when there’s no moisture.

    First Long Road Trip

That’s exactly what I found myself doing. Manually pushing down on the throttle. It sometimes seems to get stuck and won’t accelerate until you so this.

    First Long Road Trip

I don’t think i was holding the wheel now that you mention it.

    First Long Road Trip

Spent two weeks on the road. Barely ever used autopilot as you can’t do anything normal with it it engaged. Dipped my chin slightly to take a bite of a wrap and it shut off and told me I wasn’t driving safely. It’s completely useless now and a waste of money. Did notice though that if I wore...

Autopilot Asking for Input Every 11 Seconds

Before getting our Telsa I thought Autopilot and/or FSD was all about making the vehicle safer and assisting the driver with avoiding accidents. Now I see it as a more of a curiosity that nags you when you drive it like a regular old Corolla and in fact, it’s so determined not to help you, it...

    Major Phantom Braking Issues

I think that's what I meant. I keep calling it FSD but it's autopilot I believe.
  20. PassingLane

Autopilot Asking for Input Every 11 Seconds

Yes, I had one hand on the wheel I think. I took my time placing and removing the coffee so might have been more than a couple of seconds. Do you get the warnings with just one hand on the wheel?
  21. PassingLane

Autopilot Asking for Input Every 11 Seconds

The latest update from a few days ago is shite. Although I don't use it very often, FSD told me I needed both hands on the wheel and issued a warning. When I looked down to grab my coffee it issued a warning. When I looked down to place the coffee back in the cupholder it told me I wasn't paying...

    Major Phantom Braking Issues

We stopped using FSD a year ago. Don’t trust it and not taking any chances with getting rear ended.
  24. PassingLane

I’m feeling dumb. How do you resume cruise after cancelling it?

Yeah. Was frustrated after the update as I couldn’t engage cruise. Once we landed at our destination I was able to reconfigure it so cruise was once again available. I feel it’s not smart what they did. But well Tesla.
  25. PassingLane

I’m feeling dumb. How do you resume cruise after cancelling it?

Tap it? Not flick it up or down then. Ok!
  26. PassingLane

I’m feeling dumb. How do you resume cruise after cancelling it?

That’s it really. If I cancel cruise by flicking up on the stalk, is there a way to resume it or do I have set it again manually?

Not sure I'm enjoying my MY after 8 months

Ours does the same. We rarely use self driving anymore. I think though that they’re re-enabling LIDAR. Hopefully that will improve things.

Not sure I'm enjoying my MY after 8 months

My 2014 Ford’s park warnings are much more reliable than the ones on the Tesla. And yes, self driving is a crap shoot, we hardly ever use it now. However, we still love the car and wouldn’t trade it for anything else on the market right now.

First Flat in my Model S Plaid: Lessons Learned

Funny. We just got a flat too. A sharp stone punctured the tire. Our lesson learned? We bought a pouch of those four jack pads as many tow truck drivers won’t have them. Same with tire repair shops. Now, they can just use the set we keep in the frunk.

    Question about Radar Re-Enablement

Does anyone know if Musk is going to re-enable radar in our Tesla's that have the hardware? It's got to improve this phantom braking issue that myself and many others have.

Autopilot Asking for Input Every 11 Seconds

Whoa Good to know I'm not alone. Wonder if wearing sunglasses might be affecting its ability to determine attentiveness.
  37. PassingLane

Autopilot Asking for Input Every 11 Seconds

I elaborated further on that the option to disable the interior camera is no longer there. So, I don't think that's it unless I'm missing where that setting went to.
  38. PassingLane

Autopilot Asking for Input Every 11 Seconds

Funny you should mention that. We're looking at a second EV and the Tesla deal with Ford is interesting for next year. Might look at the Mach E again.

Are you missing the word 'out'? If yes then it does for sure.
  40. PassingLane

Autopilot Asking for Input Every 11 Seconds

If you read my OP, it was the 11 seconds apart nags I was complaining about. I don't know why it's sometimes a minute apart and at other times, 11 seconds.
  41. PassingLane

Autopilot Asking for Input Every 11 Seconds

Makes perfect sense to me. Just wishing I didn't need hands on the wheel all the time.
  42. PassingLane

Autopilot Asking for Input Every 11 Seconds

It wouldn't unless it can read my mind. Maybe I need that brain implant Musk is working on, Anyway, what I was complaining about was the 11 second nag, not the one that sometimes seems like they are a minute apart.
  43. PassingLane

Autopilot Asking for Input Every 11 Seconds

I agree but having my hands on my lap doesn't mean I'm not paying attention.

Need new tires for my 2021 Model 3 - Thinking All Weather (not All Season)

No one has any experience with these tires?
  46. PassingLane

Autopilot Asking for Input Every 11 Seconds

True. I didn’t mean forever but 11 seconds seems too short. A minute or so seems more reasonable to me especially if the interior camera feels I’m paying attention.

Bought a 40.5k miles 2020 Model 3 with significant Battery degradation. What can I do?

Good thing you don’t live in Canada where it drops to -30 or you’d barely be able to get to the corner store.
