Premium Connectivity Vs. Connectivity to WiFi/HotSpot on phone

If tesla upped the bitrate on the built in spotify I'd subscribe. It's the only thing really stopping me from getting premium connectivity. For now it's just bluetooth audio and hotspot on the rare occasion I want to stream something.

    Octopus intelligent tariff

The last increase was about a week before the April cap went up. I know because I missed it by about 5 days during the on boarding process -_-

    Octopus Intelligent

Yep, any time slots that are listed in the schedule will be billed at the off-peak amount. When I plug in I fairly often end up with half hour, or an hour, either side of the normal off peak times as the PHEV hogs the charger most nights. If the tesla is really low I've seen an extra 2 hours before.

    12 volt battery insurance/backup plan

Should you even use a wet cell battery in a Tesla? I'm assuming the charging characteristics differ from a lithium battery and as such might cause problems? As a temporary measure - sure... but at that point you'll need to replace with a lithium battery asap anyways?

    Octopus Go tariff renewal

Unless they insist on a separate smart meter for your EV charger that can't happen. What they do want to be able to do is manage the vast amount of 7kw chargers as efficiently as they can - customers bundling in a dryer or washer alongside is a fair trade off and will be reflected in the cost of...

    Octopus Go tariff renewal

Look at your previous statements and plug in the new numbers to find your blended unit rate. That'll tell you which deal is better. I'm getting ~16p/kwh on a 35/7.5p tariff. That's 2 people working from home all day, 800 miles a month in the m3 and a PHEV that probably sucks 80-100Kwh a month.

    Octopus Intelligent

There is a bit more phantom drain I've noticed but not a silly amount - although you'd be wise to disable smart charging from the octopus app if you're leaving it unplugged for days. They'll also always try and get you to your target charge so just set it to the maximum you want and if it takes...

    Octopus Intelligent

They can't control the hypervolt charger, but you can still go on intelligent as they connect to the car instead and control the car. You leave the hypervolt on 'Plug and Charge' and when you connect the car it'll charge for ~10 seconds before octopus notices and pauses it. It'll then cycle the...

    Model 3 front suspension clunking

No progress here... I had it up on the ramps last weekend using those MOT shaker plates. No play could be seen or noise picked up, over the sound of the shaker anyways. However he did note that he could feel something in the passenger upper control arm that he wasn't expecting and it isn't...

    Model 3 front suspension clunking

The whole EVs being quieter meaning suspension is more easilly heard is a moot point. My wife's PHEV Countryman is silent over rough roads in electric only. It's only an issue if your suspension is making excessive noise - which it shouldnt. I also think the "only present on very uneven roads"...

    Model 3 front suspension clunking

Anyone else find if their car is parked up for a couple of days in a row the clunking almost goes away? There's a few roads right outside my home that if the car has been stationary for a couple of days it glides over them. If I circle back and take the same road 20 minutes later I get a clunk...

Charging EV Car on Camping Site

I don't think the granny chargers they supply now supprt 3-phase - that might be why the site is offering to sell you a whole new one that does.

Charging EV Car on Camping Site

I've got a dribox as part of my arsenal, just didn't have a commando adapter haha! Although that toughleads one looks like something I could plugin and forget about much better than the amazon one I posted :)

Charging EV Car on Camping Site

Piggybacking on this. Was recently at a Haven caravan site. They were happy for me to plug into the caravan - but unfortunantly the van we had didn't have close enough parking. They would have been happy for me to plug into an empty pitch but I only had the standard 3 pin granny. Would...

    Model 3 front suspension clunking

Have tesla been able to make any headway on your model 3 after?

    Model 3 front suspension clunking

I've already had the retaining clips greased, so you'd hope they wouldn't do that job without checking for play in the pads.

    Model 3 front suspension clunking

Thanks for keeping in touch! Please do, it's nice to see they're still engaging - or have you needed to pester them constantly? I had my car up on the ramps yesterday at my friendly independant and to be fair - everything looks rock solid. I can see why Tesla are scratching their heads...

Oh those wipers (again, I know...)

I wouldn't mind the auto-wipers not working well, if it wasn't such a damn PITA to adjust them manually. Driving on the motorway the other day, where it was mostly spray from other vehicles, was infuriating. Auto-wipers didn't activate once, usually stuck behind a vehicle spraying long enough...

    Model 3 front suspension clunking

I'm having my car put up on the ramps at my local independent next week just so I can see for myself there's nothing glaringly wrong. Not that I think Tesla is incompetent - I just prefer to see these things for myself! Might even take it for a drive with the drop links removed as that's an...

    Model 3 front suspension clunking

I've had my appointment with the Master Tech. Really nice individual who clearly wants to do more - but seems unable to as there isn't a current fix. His words were: My vehicle is noisy on both passenger and drivers side. He's experienced this noise before in a handful of cars (I also believed...

    Model 3 front suspension clunking

16-19s you can hear it the most. Ignore whatever is rattling in the cabin, I think the child seat must have been unlocked. When the car drops into those dips and hits the bottom the bump sounds clunky... This isn't the best example but gives you an idea.

    Model 3 front suspension clunking

I know I've struggled to record it in the car... A phone's mic just isn't sensitive enough to the sound over the normal background noise of a car being driven. I've been considering buying a cheap action camera ahead of my appointment and see if I can mount it somewhere underneath the car but...

    Model 3 front suspension clunking

Funny enough Tesla never got back to me on the headlights rattling so to force them to respond I booked an appointment for today over the weekend. The Supervisor there called yesterday and instead offered to see me a week Thursday when one of their 'Master Techs' are in the shop to go over my...

    Model 3 front suspension clunking

I was told of a recent tale whilst at Cardiff Tesla of the Bristol service team keeping someone's Tesla for 2 months and replacing almost the whole front end chasing a knocking sound for a customer - only to discover it was a 'characteristic of the car' the whole time. I wonder if this is why...

    Model 3 front suspension clunking

Popped down to Cardiff Tesla. The demo car I drove also has rattling headlights. The other demo next to it had one headlight that was rock solid, the other a little rattly. They technician said he'll do some investigation to see if there's any articles on the headlights and will give me a call...

    Model 3 front suspension clunking

You've used the same words as I used when filling out the rattle form... That the noise is more apparent when the wheel drops rather than being impacted. Unfortunantly the visit hasn't got rid of the noise... I found my own test route before I visited in a rough road residential street. First...

    Model 3 front suspension clunking

I'm following this with interest as my car has this issue. Knocking from the drivers side that I can somewhat feel in the steering wheel and accelerator. Had it at the service centre who claimed its a characteristic of the car. Its going back to get the brake pads greased as apparently...

Wiki UK 2021 Orders and Pending Deliveries

You'll need to do a quick clay and one stage polish on even a new car as they pick up contaminants on their journey across the world. I wouldn't worry about the last step.

Wiki UK 2021 Orders and Pending Deliveries

I wouldn't mind 305 range and 5.6s, seems a fair trade off. 5.8s not so much... I'm assuming the 5.6s cars have the newer battery but performance motor, rather than the new battery and Y motor?

Sorry messed that message up... I called today - not sure where I stand... My VIN was allocated today... The CS couldn't work out whether that meant I had a 5.3s ir a 5.6s model 3... 8th character of the VIN is A if that makes a difference?
