People getting board with cars is nothing new as I'm sure I'm not the only person here that's fallen in and out of love with many cars over the decades. I just think it's something that may happen faster with EV's given the lack of meaningful modifications you can make to them compared to ICE...
That's surprising that he's a musician as those settings are terrible for reasons explained in post #5. You would expect a musician to gravitate to unaltered music rather than heavily modified and noisy as he set it up. In most cases you are better off cutting problem frequencies rather than...
I'm kind of stunned that they wouldn't just replace the fender. Not many shops mess around with pounding out dents and using filler on easily replaceable parts like this. I would ask for a new fender myself as that's a pretty good crease.
People make concessions which is why the lowly Corolla is the top selling car in the world in the first place. Lots of people purchase based on reputation alone. A lot of people settle for Toyota's because of their reputation of reliability. Seriously sit in in the latest Corolla and Civic...
The Toyota Corolla has long been the best selling car in the world up until recently but that doesn't change the fact that the Honda Civic has always been a far superior car. Best selling anything rarely means it's the best product in its market segment.
The Y looks like a 3 stretched vertically. My wife once commented on my model 3 looking much nicer than one of her co-workers and she assumed it was maybe the red color just looks better on the car. Turns out her co-worker owns a Y. The model 3 isn't a beauty but from certain angles it's...
It's so strange that Tesla would go through the trouble of putting in a decent premium system into these cars only to render it useless because they force you to stream low bitrate garbage. At the very least they should activate one of the front USB ports for basic Ipod connectivity so you can...
I have the MPP comfort coilovers as well and at home after reading this thread I checked my car parked in my garage and from certain angles it does look like the driver side front wheel is forward somewhat. However my garage is slanted for a drain towards the middle so the car is not level side...
Anyone else have connectivity but notice that there's no connectivity logo in the right corner of the screen? Like many I had the issues of no connectivity, then 3G connectivity. Now I have connectivity but no indication of 3G or LTE.
It never ceases to amaze me how many people will play russian roulette with their safety when it comes to tires. This one is on the treadblock at least but I have seen people post photos of screws in the sidewall asking for advice and the amount of people that suggest plugging is fine is pretty...
I only got 6 months out of the battery that came with my fob which is poor. The replacement battery seems to be doing fine but I don't use the fob as much as I do my phone.
Is the tire slowly leaking air? The angle of the photo isn't great but if the screw is on the edge of the outside treadblock most tire shops will not repair. You should still get it checked in the case the screw hasn't punctured the tire.
I think that's normal. I just looked at a bone stock long range in the parking lot and the driver side front wheel is forward in the wheel well. Lowing the car would likely make this stand out more.
I have a PP version sitting in my garage that I've not got around to installing. I have 3M adhesive promoter and VHB tape but the kit comes with a lot of screws and no instructions. I assume the two clips are for the ends in the front wheel wells. Any other tips? Did anyone use tape as with...
These are all lipstick on a pig. Everyone knows what car you are driving and it's not fooling anyone and if anything will elicit more ridicule. As with everything in life, it's better when you come to grips and accept the imperfections rather than attempt to cover them up with bandaids.
That noise totally went away from mine when I got coilovers installed. I did ask the shop to re-torque all the suspension fasteners and they noted a few were out of torque spec so I don't know if it was related to loose fasteners or the factory spring/strut.
Looks like there were issues in the painting process on plastic parts the day your bumper was painted. Not sure how that would pass QA but seeing we are talking about a Tesla we know the answer in that there isn't QA.
It's by far the most rudimentary infotainment system in the industry today. I just don't understand why they don't let some of their programmers clean it up so it doesn't feel like your music sources reset every time you get into the car.
How is the quality of the CF mirror caps. In my BMW days I found the aftermarket ones never fit as good as the BMW Carbon fiber mirror caps. Is it RPM ones that you are all using?
Yes. Depending on the state of your paint you may want to go over it with a clay bar first. The less contaminants on the paint, the longer the ceramic coating will last.
We are just going to have to agree to disagree. I get that organizing a USB library is dear to your heart but the masses largely don't want to have to fuss with having to rearrange their desktop USB library every time they add new music to their playlists. I can download a new lossless song...
It sounds better than Spotify to me and about the same as Tidal when on LTE (no HiFi). Tidal is still the best but that's only when connected to WiFi or downloaded songs.
It seems like the taillights in particular are extremely cheap like Tesla farmed those out to the Chinese factory that was making all those cheap aftermarket altezza tail lights in the 2000's sold by Pep Boys and JDM import tuner shops.
Tesla generally doesn't want customers visiting the service centers unless absolutely necessary so I highly doubt Tesla wants customers coming into the service centers to get sensors programmed.
I would say it's a bit of an oversight to apply paint to rotor hats that isn't compatible with brake cleaner. Like using paint on body panels that's not compatible with car wash detergent.
I don't have these issues regarding gaps between tracks with Apple Music. Tidal lets you store locally. For this reason it's still the best option for sound quality when playing stored music. I'm not sure why Tesla hasn't allowed that for Apple Music or Spotify.
Depending on your alignment not necessarily uneven tire wear. Just faster overall tire wear and less range. I don't worry too much if the pressures climb to 45-46 psi at temperature as it's pretty normal with my performance model. When tiremakers declare a max cold pressure of 50 psi it...
I have a feeling that the engineers likely wanted the tried and true rain sensors but were ordered by Musk to make it work with vision. Just when he removed radar sensors and saddled his engineers with the impossible task of making FSD work with vision alone. Followed by the removal of...
Yeah BMW and Porsche both us smaller front wheels but only 1" difference as for example M3/M4 come with 19's on the front and 20's on the rear. However the chassis it tweaked and the tire sizes optimize as just randomly doing this on any car won't make it handle better and going down two sizes...
I will go MPP because I'm in Canada and even if it costs more up front it will come out a wash as I will avoid duty charges involved with ordering from US. Also I try to support Canadian companies when I can.
