    Winter 2023 update sucks

Last week, I made a 200km trip home in the freezing cold. It was around -30C. I had 75% remaining on my LR and my map told me I needed to stop at a supercharger to get home. About 20 minutes into my trek, I cancelled the trip and then reset my destination to home. This time the map said I...

Summer range in extreme temps = similar to Winter range! UGH!

I preconditioned my car and I drove 100km/h for the entire 150km trip with a consumption of 212 Wh/km. Later in the day, I repeated the process and drove in the opposite direction and my consumption was 172 Wh/km. Mariano

Summer range in extreme temps = similar to Winter range! UGH!

I find the whole range mystery frustrating. Yesterday morning the temperature was -7C. Overnight I charged to 90% I set my destination to the supercharger in Woodstock which is 150km away and I arrived with 30% remaining after an average speed of 108km/h. That means it took me 60% to go...

FSD Owners - Do any of you prefer leaving it off?

Hi everyone. I’m considering purchasing FSD. I have a very long highway commute and I was wondering if FSD was similar to standard autopilot when it comes to big rigs. When I’m in standard autopilot and the rig beside me is close to the line of its lane, my car hammers the brake to make...

M3P Tire Wear & Alignment Questions

I have uneven tire wear and was told it is pretty standard for the M3 due to the weight of the car and the instant torque. I was also told there aren't many things I can do about it other than purchasing an aftermarket camber and toe arms for the vehicle in the rear. Here are photos of my...

Is the car keeping my garage warm?

I was at the supercharger this week and I noticed a lot of steam coming from my car. I looked over and the car across from me was also steaming. This leads me to believe that the charging process gives off a lot of heat. What I’d like to know is if I set my M3 to charge to 80% overnight and...

    Reel doesn’t always work

I took a closer look and the thermal safety switch had been tripped after my buddy used my reel to charge his plug-in hybrid. I reset it and the reel worked. In fact, I was out of town last week and I used my reel to charge my car around the clock for 3 days and there was no issue. Very...

    Reel doesn’t always work

I bought a retractable outdoor electrical cord with 4 outlets on a reel. When I first bought it, I was working out of town and this setup worked nicely. Since then, I’ve tried two different locations and although the reel showed it had power, my Tesla says there is no power. I immediately...

Wind noise - front window at B pillar

Hi Robert. I had the same issue. I bought my car at a time they weren’t doing road tests. Time went by, and I got really busy and was forced to live with the noise. Last week, I was driving on the highway and something came off a truck and punched my windshield. My insurance company said...

iOS app making charge level recommendations now (4.23.2)

I guess my question is why now? Since I’ve had my car in 2022, it’s said 90% or less for daily use. Is using the supercharger worse than charging the car to 90% or 100%? Mariano

    Does Brake inspection void warranty?

Hi everyone, I’ve been working out of town and the km are climbing on my M3. I read that the brakes should be adjusted every 40,000 km. Does this need to be done at Tesla service or can any mechanic do it? I’m worried about possibly voiding my warranty. Mariano

    Charging shows 0km/h, 0/32A, 244v

It wasn’t an electrical problem rather a connection issue with my app. My app didn’t know what was going on with the car but the car knew it had power and charged. Very strange. Mariano

    Charging shows 0km/h, 0/32A, 244v

As a follow up to my initial post, the car screen shows 49km/h, 32/32A, and 236V. After rebooting my car and my phone, my app shows the car is parked at my address but it doesn’t know the car is charging at all. I’m assuming this is related to the LTE issue I had earlier, even though my car...

    Charging shows 0km/h, 0/32A, 244v

Hi everyone, I plugged in my car in my garage and it is showing 0km/h, 0/32A, and 244V on my app. Any idea why I’m not getting any current? Mariano

LTE/Premium connectivity issues in GTA region

I was down all day, which reminded me of the Rogers outage. I remember that they gave me rebate for the days I was down. I’m new to Tesla and I’m wondering if they’ll do the same since I’m paying a monthly subscription. Mariano

    Clicking noise from front speaker

I’m waiting in my car, with the audio on Bluetooth and nothing set to play, and I hear a clicking noise coming from the speaker. I start my podcast and the clicking noise continues. I switch over to my Tesla streaming app and there is a periodic clicking noise. I reboot, and there’s still a...

    Curious about Battery Fire Risk

I really appreciate the question, and your desire to differentiate between what is fact and what is a feeling. Recently, there was a Tesla fire in my community, and it went up in flames in their garage. No surprise, the pictures of the burnt car and resulting damage to the garage made the...

    90% went from 504km to 485km overnight

Hi everyone, I charged my car to 90% and it only got to 484km instead of the usual 504km. That’s 20km less than normal. The temperature outside is 5C, and I put on my snow tires two weeks ago. My car is a 2021. Thoughts? Mariano

When is it time to trade in Dual Motor?

Hi everyone, This year, I’ve had to drive across Ontario for business, and it looks like I’ll hit 30,000km in one year of driving. Is there a magic number for kilometres before the Long Range becomes a money pit? Mariano

    Snow tire sizes

I appreciate the feedback. it’s more about convenience. I know the tires are in great shape because I only used them for one winter. If I’m going with tire pressure sensors and I need to pull the tire off the rim anyway, I’d consider buying new rubber. Mariano

    Snow tire sizes

I just sold my Subaru Sti but kept my winters. I have FastWheels rims on Bizzaks, and the size is 245/40/18. My ‘22 Model 3 Dual Motor came with 235/45/18, which is pretty close in size. Is there something about my Tesla that would make this a bad idea? Has anyone run something similar? Mariano

Vendor The solution to Tesla Road Noise and Dust- Door seal

Recently, I’ve been driving 800+ km per week, with almost all of it on the highway. The wind noise is incredible! I was looking at the seal kit, and I’ve been considering going to the service department to get them to look at the alignment of my front door windows. That said, I’m sceptical, and...

    Hi from Toronto

Hi everyone, I picked up my ‘22 Model 3 AWD in December. I have loved the driving experience so far. I have noticed that my car enjoys the cold as the range is nowhere near the posted number, even if I precondition the car. That said, I’m not obsessed with range, so this isn’t a huge deal...
