I'm in VIC. Tesla doesn't allow reallocation of orders, so the only option would be to take delivery and sell second hand - which isn't good for you as it means rebates etc aren't available. All academic now anyway, as the order has disappeared...and has probably been reassigned already.

I just cancelled a model Y delivery that is ready for collection scheduling - white/black RWD. Hopefully someone on here will pick it up.

There has been suggestion that changing versions pushes you to the back of the queue, yet others saying they did that and didn't get pushed. Maybe check with your SA. I highly recommend the LR :)

I changed colour of a Y order after vin was assigned, and got a new vin within a few weeks. Not sure if you could do that twice and keep getting away with it but worth a try maybe 🙂

16-Jul VIN received - 30-Aug collection for me. I think there were a couple on here with same build date who got a collection a week or so before me. I'm Melbourne so that would add a good few days over a Sydney order.

Yep I had to wait 8 days from the pre-SMS to the SMS. Have seen others getting it a day or two after the pre-SMS. All comes down to where your car was on the ship and/or where it gets parked when it comes off.

I think it's $3000. Added through the app, and can get it refunded within 48hrs. Worth doing just to give it a go and see what it's like!

Completely agree. Especially if the customer has paid in full. I haven't experienced the scenario in person so it's based on second hand partial info. But if it's even partly true it's far from ok.

Not as far as I know. You may have to find a friend or relative who can collect for you. You could ask your SA for advice but so far it seems Tesla aren't too accommodating in this area.

I'm down to Budget Direct and RACV. AAMI are out as they don't offer choice of repairer. Budget Direct get better reviews than RACV but it's hard to tell whether those reviews are based on policy cost or performance when it's the insurer's turn to pay out.

Got my pickup appointment message this morning (Melbourne) - at last! Options were Tues 30-Aug or Weds 31-Aug so 7 or 8 days out. Booked for 11am 30-Aug! So happy it's finally scheduled. Good luck to the others who are waiting down here

I wouldn't rush, it'll just sit there as a constant reminder that your car still hasn't arrived yet. Better to keep the cost of the unit and installation in your bank account I reckon.

Maybe backlog isn't the right term. I meant Tesla are starting to get through the overdue cars. I haven't looked in detail, but I'd say the average number of days past initial quoted range must be coming down.

Before the recent LR & P burst, there were a ton of RWDs. So fair to expect there will be a run on RWDs again. If Tesla sets aside a week for RWD production I expect RWD will overtake LR/P again.

Small consolation, but at least Tesla appear to be making inroads into the backlog. For a while there it seemed like the backlog was just going to keep growing, with Shanghai lockdowns and talk of ongoing supplier shortages. Hang in there. It's a great day when the VIN turns up, then you get...

Thanks Matt. My real question is whether the boost is only noticeable above an approx battery charge level. When I get my car I'll buy the boost and see how it feels at 40/60/80% or similar.

Yeah it's been poor. I paid in full way earlier than I should have. Having all that cash in Tesla's account and not mine isn't helping my pain or patience. I'd definitely wait until collection appointment is booked before paying if I did this again.

You're not alone! I'm starting to hope mine doesn't come today as end of next week is a problem for me as I'm interstate Weds-Fri. Now that I've written this I expect to receive the SMS with options of Thur & Fri. Tesla should start making rollercoasters, they'd be naturally great at it I reckon.
