    Model Y Rear Console/Armrest solution...?

So has anyone found an accessory or solution to make pulling down the second row armrest easier? I know it's "easy" to just stick your fingers in the tight space and pull it down, but most passengers I've had in the car who weren't familiar with it always seem to struggle with this. Wondering if...

    Charging problems (240 and 110)

Pretty sure the meter is on the main, the split occurs after. Not 100% sure but I believe that's what they said. It's a "Y" split if I recall correctly. Not an electrician and getting this info from my FIL who knows a thing or two, but that's all I can confirm.

    Charging problems (240 and 110)

To clarify - yes, Tesla makes and i am using a 14-30 adapter. There's also a 10-30 Tesla adapter (they're both part of the kit they sell) and 3rd party 6-30 adapter -- all of these work well in other locations, not this one. We tried them all, then tried replacing the adapters, then tried...

    Charging problems (240 and 110)

My understanding is that the line splits from the main with the offshoots going to a panel at the house and one at the garage

    Charging problems (240 and 110)

So my in-laws have a recently built detached garage. They put a dedicated 30A breaker and 240v outlet for us to charge our Y when we visit. For some reason, charging constantly stops. The basic error of Communication Failure and Check Power Source keep coming up. It will not charge continuously...

Side view mirror - going black

Thanks for sharing, I was looking for a matte/satin black to match the chrome delete look that the vehicle trim has.

Side view mirror - going black

Thinking Oded turning my side view mirrors black to match the chrome-delete satin black accents on the car. Has anyone found a solution that truly matches the chrome delete look? I’ve seen ABS covers, wrap films, etc but none of them look even close to me (though photos do vary). Curious if...

Has anyone taken delivery of a new Model S and opted for the steering wheel?

I’m with you on that! Very comfortable in straight line or Highway drives (though, so is a wheel), but those lower speed, “in town” maneuvers is where it’s a bit awkward. Yeah, we can absolutely get used to it, but I’m not sure we will ever prefer it to a wheel. I love that it’s now an option to...

Has anyone taken delivery of a new Model S and opted for the steering wheel?

The only advantage is the visibility of the driver display…I really don’t see any other benefit, and that level of display visibility is not really THAT important IMO. Strongly considering the retrofit when it comes out but would love to get a “preview” before spending an additional $700

Has anyone taken delivery of a new Model S and opted for the steering wheel?

The retrofits are coming in March, but for the last month, if you ordered a new vehicle it gives you an option to choose between a yoke and a steering wheel - so I guess I’m asking this if anyone who may have elected the steering wheel AND taken delivery already.
  14. O

Has anyone taken delivery of a new Model S and opted for the steering wheel?

I'm asking because we have one with a yoke and with the upcoming retrofit kit, we're considering the switch but I was wondering: 1. What the width of the wheel is? is it as wide as the yoke and/or older Model S steering wheels (that always felt HUGE to me) or more like the size of a Model Y/3...

Finally swapped our Taycan for a Model S - I have some questions about the interface...

There are a lot of different solutions for stitching footage from multiple camera and extrapolating things that are off camera (with know distance from camera, etc) so I don’t think it’s impossible, but not sure they’ll spend time on that vs other features

Finally swapped our Taycan for a Model S - I have some questions about the interface...

I’ve seen a few Lucids up close, lucky enough to try one out too. Ultimately, the software was still a bit clunky and not as responsive as you’d hope - I’m sure that eventually software updates will optimize it. The two tone interior is definitely subjective, and the comfort was, to me, equal to...

Finally swapped our Taycan for a Model S - I have some questions about the interface...

Much, much better IMO. So the Taycan is a beautiful car, I would argue the most beautiful EV out right now. Its looks verge on the exotic. It’s also extremely well put together and the model S has a few easy to rectify build quality issues (window seals cracking in one spot as an example) - at...

    Right Scroll Wheel question...

Yeah. Seems like a missed opportunity but also wondering if it’s due to TACC/Autopilot activation associated with the wheel and fear of erroneous clicking (not that it’s justified…just wondering why two actions immediately accessible to the driver are not used)
  19. O

    Right Scroll Wheel question...

So, I've had a Y for a year now. We just got a new Model S...what the heck does the right scroll wheel control when I push it Left/Right? In the Y, that sets the following distance...does it do anything in the S at the moment?

Finally swapped our Taycan for a Model S - I have some questions about the interface...

We already have a '22 Y at home, so not such a Noob, but there are two things I was wondering if we had more information about: 1. If you look at the Owners Guide from the launch of the refresh, there's a reference to a media control "swap" button that the front passenger can press to...

No, those should be different as these were for the trunk area, not the doors Edit: these won’t wrap around to the passenger door area if that’s what you meant

apply brakes when regenerative braking is limited - setting never saves?

Haven’t really noticed it yet since Inhavent charged past 80% in awhile (this will work, for example, when you’re at 100% and can’t regen), but autopilot uses it sometimes if something happens and it needs to decelerate faster than regen alone allows - works great in those scenarios

Setting for “Apply Braking when Regen Limited” wont save as enabled.

Not a terrible misunderstanding - for the most part, it’ll never be necessary. But, recently, the service request feature of the mobile app added some self diagnostics (for certain things) which kicks on when you attempt to open a request for some issues (like concerns over battery degradation...

Setting for “Apply Braking when Regen Limited” wont save as enabled.

It’s not a matter of removing in and fixing - what OTA means are the periodic updates, not remote support. I just got 40.4.1 this week and it resolved it for me, and I expect anyone else who still has this issue.

Setting for “Apply Braking when Regen Limited” wont save as enabled.

Thanks! Let’s us know if it “stuck” this time on 40.4! I’m on 36.6 still, hoping it got fixed in the new update!

apply brakes when regenerative braking is limited - setting never saves?

I'm on 2022.36.6 - I have this feature available, I can select it and turn it on. If I exit the car and come back, it's unselected. Cannot get this to save in the On position. Anyone else has this issue?

How different is the new Comfort Suspension (October 22 -) to the previous gen (prior to Oct 22 change)?

I doubt that as well, and it doesn’t take air suspension to reach “comfort”, look at any German SUV that doesn’t have air suspension. They drive great and feel great - mostly due to superior dampeners in the suspension system.

How different is the new Comfort Suspension (October 22 -) to the previous gen (prior to Oct 22 change)?

with the recent info about the Model Y LR and Performance receiving a new Comfort suspension starting with cars manufactured in Texas and Fremont starting October 22, I'm curious just how different the driving feel and comfort really are compared to earlier 22-made cars...

    Suspension Shop in Atlanta

In case you’re still thinking about this, the guys at AP3 in Alpharetta said they were going to start it this year, last I saw them was around June so I’m guessing they’re offering installs now

I'm pretty sure these are it! They're on the same list as the C pillar upper trim pieces I had installed. The top trim fits perfectly with the "older" 2022 lower trim that isn't carpeted so if you only want the parcel shelf, you don't really need them.

Yes, through the app as an “other” service request. Wrote that I wanted to check on costs of parts and labor for installing it (also provided PDF of parts) and the rest happened as it normally does - they sent an estimate, I approved, date confirmed, and so on. Install Friday morning.

I specifically asked for a quote for the parts and install…e wives and approved an estimate that includes the parts ($200) and labor ($125, which I believe is their hourly rate). I’m in Atlanta and going to the Alpharetta, GA SC.
