I've got a Cyberhammer on the way, wondering who else is in? I'm very curious what will show up... Would like to know the size and weight, so I can determine how best to display it. Certainly will not be used at the gym.

It's not really an integral part. Tesla just refuses to repair; they rip and replace. Steering assist assembly electrical problems are common.

This post shows where my ground connection was found; Steering assist reduced ... Not a steering rack but bad ground. This was the picture of my original ground connection condition. And here was the finished repair showing the new ground connection.

Sometimes the steering assist firmware cannot be update because power was lost to the steering assist assembly during an update. It's another potential indicator of a bad ground or other wiring/corrosion issue.

Rather then see this thread drag out, I worked with the OP, who was able to get Tesla to replace the steering rack under warranty, which did resolve the problem, although was probably entirely overkill, but as has been stated, they will not service the rack beyond R&R.

Were you an existing Tesla customer when you used the referral link? If so, it will be converted to a loyalty bonus, which have the same benefits for the buyer but no benefit for a referrer. In order to get the referral, the buyer must be a net-new Tesla customer.

I have a 2017 Model S and 2022 Model Y. I prefer the Model S, it was $120K new and you can tell... but I would not suggest one out of warranty.

Most likely a road force balance, which is considered a wear item, but if you complained under 100 miles, it will often be done as goodwill. If a balance doesn't solve, then I would start looking for a bad tire or rim.
