My 2022 MYP Tein setup has the OEM springs, dust boots, and full bumpstops.

I have my 2022 MYP setup at 12/12 currently and the chirp disappeared after a 1 month breakin period.

Yeah. The same version sold by a different AE company makes no mention of ip68.

Here is yet another version. This one claims ip68 waterproof and emergency release cable. It looks like the control box is integrated into the motor housing.

So, is there any user remedy to mitigate the humidity/water intrusion in these aftermarket latch kits?

Yet it seems the 2 piece versions are having the problems, not the 1 piece ones.

Does anyone but me find it odd that the chirps are mostly coming form the rear passenger side after the Teins are installed?

I'm curious, did you ever determine whether the motor failed or was it just the cable and control box problem? What has been Satonic's response?

They advertise it as having an anti-pinch feature. I haven't tested it and I don't I will,at least not with my fingers.

That's what Tlyard support indicated when I asked them about the patch. However, in my case once the soft close bracket was set right, the 90s relatch feature has worked every time without the need of the patch.

The Tlyard is probably the same as many of the AE offerings. The difference is that the Tlyard has a 2 year warranty and costs twice or more than the AE offerings. I doubt it is any better than the others.

This is my understanding of "metal patch" or "gasket" and "limiter."

I agree. The side with the white plastic spacer "limiter" acts like a pivot point making the other side easy to adjust to the correct height so you get consistent latch closure.

If the doors are unlocked, a 9v battery will pop the frunk. The 12v doesn't need to be dead. Give it a try.

I want to correct myself. According to the current Model 3 manual, it doesn't have the emergency pulls. Also, I'm glad to hear that the 2023 Model Y has better access to the emergency pulls. In my 2022 Model YP, you needed a tool to forcibly pry open the access door to get to the pull.

The 3 and Y have had emergency pulls but they were hidden and difficult to get to. Cheap and simple aftermarket solutions that make them more accessible are now readily available. But, it is up to the owner to install them. They should have been there in the first place.

I'll post if I come up with a viable solution.

Tlyard is offering a one piece version of the soft close kit that looks the same as the Teslasy kit.

Yep, that is the problem. It is difficult to make an educated decision without more information. Satonic hasn't been responsive to my inquiries so far.

Thanks but that link is about the full power frunk. The new Satonic kit is only a soft close system without the powered hood struts.

Has anybody have experience with the new Satonic Soft Close Frunk kit? From what I can see, the soft close mechanism doesn't involve the latch spring or cable. Supposedly, the mechanism closes the hood and then releases. I would assume this would reduce any issues about the hood getting stuck.
