    Another Battery Range Concern

precondition your departure by setting a finish charge time in your schedule on your app. the car will get the cabin to your desired (or last set) temperature and in doing so also condition the battery to the proper temp for departure. If your commute is 7 miles, you’re spending the first 3 of...

Vendor Show Off Your Aftermarket Model Y Wheels

Been wanting to try 285/40-20 square. No one has been brave enough yet. Only 285/35

    2023 After market suspension upgrade?

this was within my plan too. I don’t have a problem with the stock MYP springs on my 2023 revised suspension. I also use my car as utility so I don’t want to sacrifice any ride height. Was thinking about doing Koni Yellows with the stock p springs when it came to needing replacements… seems as...

    Ear pain/Pressure help

Wanted to give a thank you to this thread. I reinforced the hatch gasket with the vinyl tubing and am in the process of getting the hatch stops correct now. For the first day or so it was night and day difference, but now that the hatch has settled in again against the gasket I’m having to make...

285's or 295's for MYP at front and back/square set up

bumping this thread… still getting the itch to attempt a 285/40/20 square with the 20x10 +40 offset. Anyone tried it? From all the different calculations I’ve looked at, mainly people who are running the 265/40/21 on the fronts… and the 285/35 on a 10.5” wheel… it should fit. But when I look at...

Pirelli Scorpion Weatheractive (new Crossclimate competitor)

At 23k miles. Tires are still fantastic. Need a rebalancing (thank you SoCal roads) but I’m about to rotate again in a couple days and will get them road force balanced as well. Wear is great, noise still is great, definitely some growl at low speeds around parking lots and whatnot… but they...

Camera, Navigation and AP Failure After Update

Ok interesting. Also one more thing as the tech was leaving this morning, he said all mobile techs had gotten a bulletin sent to them this morning (while he was doing my roof racks) about this very issue. Seems widespread now

Camera, Navigation and AP Failure After Update

Keep us updated. Having same issue, wondering if it’s worth it to try and schedule an appointment or just wait for the next update. FWIW I have a mobile tech out right now for a roof rack install and showed him the issue, he said he hadn’t diagnosed this issue yet but had heard it was related to...

Pirelli Scorpion Weatheractive (new Crossclimate competitor)

You may need to buy them without putting in your vehicle if you can. Or check an option that says you know these aren’t the OEM size for your car. I’m not sure!

Pirelli Scorpion Weatheractive (new Crossclimate competitor)

around 12k miles on these. Still great as far as wear and noise goes. No real changes to note. efficiency has improved just a bit since break in. Some lower tire growl around parking lots with new pavement and such. But that’s about it

    18”? 19”? 20”? 21”? MYP decision

Definitely helps the ride quality. Look for a light wheel. I have a 2023 MYP with revised suspension and went with 20x10 with 275/40, and I’m happy with the ride quality overall. And it still corners the best of any crossover I’ve ever driven. Using all weather tires and I average 270wh/mi. I...

    MYLR7 Sound Deadening

Curious about the hatch area. Did they tackle the hatch door itself as well? I seem to have extra movement and noise emanating from the plastic lining of the hatch most likely around the speaker shrouds. The carpeted area in the lower middle near the trunk light seems pretty hollow and loose...

Pirelli Scorpion Weatheractive (new Crossclimate competitor)

I’ve put 1000 miles on mine. So far wh/mi is better than stock ubers with the new 20x10 with 275/40/20. Average has been around 270wh/mi vs much higher around 290wh/mi with the Ubers. They have quieted down overall from the initial break in period. Less noise then when they were brand new, but...

Easy and effective low frequency fix

Looking to do the vinyl tubing inside the rear rubber seal soon enough. Can anyone verify the diameter as I’ve seen both 5/16”and 3/16” used in this thread. As one poster mentioned the 5/16 didn’t fit for him. Has the rubber seal inside changed diameter in recent builds? Thanks so much. I have a...

Pirelli Scorpion Weatheractive (new Crossclimate competitor)

Pirelli Scorpion Weatheractive installed on 20x10 R241. Tire size is 275/ 40 20 square. So far so good. A little noisier than the EV tuned PZeros but I’m much more confident driving around the city with road imperfections. The slight noise increase is negligible when looking at the benefits of...

Pirelli Scorpion Weatheractive (new Crossclimate competitor)

Seems as if Pirelli has launched an All-Weather competitor to the Crossclimate family. No reviews, very few posts on any forums. Only found one within the last week on a Ford Explorer ST forum which runs a 21” size. Relevant sizes for Model Y are all alternative larger sidewall sizes for stock...

    Eibach Pro-Kit

This is my exact hangup with Eibach. They’ve always made their pro-kits in this way. I remember all the way back to modding my first car, the rear drop was 1.5” and the front was around 0.8”. Ever since then I have done coilovers not only because I like the rake look (as it’s more natural for...

    Best Aggressive Wheel Offsets?

Yo! Read through the whole thread. Some amazing setups in here. I’ve been asking around on other threads but no real answers. Looking to run 20x10 +40 square with a 285/40 2023 MYP stock suspension. My only concern is the steering knuckle. I know 275/40 is safe but wanting to go one...

Maximum Tires Size Model Y Performance?

Main benefit is being able to rotate tires. If you drive significant amount of miles per year or are generally uninterested in changing tires every 10-20k miles, square setup might be for you.

Suspension Clearances for Wider / Taller tires

Has anyone tried a 285/40/20 square on a 20x10 +40? I’ve done all the reading and searching I can do, only to find people talking about it but no one attempting it. Current concern has shifted away from the steering knuckle and actually shifted toward rubbing the fender liner…

Maximum Tires Size Model Y Performance?

bumping this thread. Getting close to pulling the trigger for my wheel setup on my ‘23 MYP. going for the 20x10 +40 square setup but am really tempted to try 285/40 20 vs the 275/40 everyone has been able to run. Overall diameter is 29” for the 285 tire… I know that people have fit the 265/40 21...

Easy and effective low frequency fix

Wanted to bump this thread. Thanking everyone who has worked through this issue. 1 week old MYP, 2023 model. I didn’t notice anything within the first couple days and first 100-150 miles. As a matter of fact I thought at highway speeds the car was possibly the quietest car I had driven. They...

    Battery Cost

Interesting thread. I’ll be following as I do about 30-35k a year. Currently waiting on MY, probably going to have to switch to a MYP based off how many times my delivery date has been pushed back. With that in mind I’m considering still giving the majority of mileage load on my 2012 Prius...

Maximum Tires Size Model Y Performance?

My understanding is that 275/40 won’t fit in the front on the stock Ubers. Your best bet if you are looking to stick within that Front to Rear stock sidewall ratio, is to go with 265/40 F and 285/40 R

May not want anymore. Now what?

Not sure what build date your bf’s Model Y is, but some would argue here, me included, the build quality of current production Model Y is quite different than what initially was coming out of Fremont in 2020. I went and test drove some of the earlier builds and comparably the Y I was in the...

Max Tire Diameter for Model Y

I think it would depend on offset. Most aggressive 50 profile I’ve seen is on stock Gemini +45 255/50 19 and it barely cleared the steering knuckle in the front.
  33. G

Ordered MYP and am looking for options of 19" wheels that clear the bigger brakes.

I remember someone on here saying it had to do with the speed rating of the winter tires given MYP top speed from factory

All Season Upgrade: Continental ExtremeContact DWS06 Plus

Has anyone run a 275/ 45 19 on the geminis? I’d be interested in seeing this with the steering knuckle clearance. I’ve seen it done with a +35 offset on a 19x9.5 and a +40 offset on a 19x10 and both clear. Would be interested in seeing if the +45 makes a difference. FWIW we know the 255/50 fit...
