Well I want it to work out , I just feel a little painted into a corner with the hit or miss quality and the strange Tesla whims. The ordering process and various horror stories have me spooked. I haven’t tried to live with a Y.
The Model S I was test owning was really great, it was just an older model so range was a little less and I felt guilty making such a nice car a dog vehicle. However the model Y seems like a noticeable step down from the S inside and out. It’s hard to swallow plastic seats honestly.
I tested most of the EV available (Jaguar I-Pace, VW ID.4, Mustang Mach-E, Hyundai and Kia ....)
but always found that Teslas are simpler and nicer to drive, and so far the Tesla Super charger is a real advantage.
To get some more input regarding the current EVs, I like the test drive videos made by
Bjørn Nyland.
About the seats, I don't like leather (or leatherette), it looks nice but it's cold in winter and hot in summer.
I wish there was an option for getting fabric seat covers instead, like the
VW GTI Tartan seats,
I wanted to have seats covers anyway, especially because I often carry various stuffs on the back seat,
I find more simple to use the back seat than the trunk, because I park in a garage and the rear door is against a wall when parked.
So, I put some black neoprene seats covers from
Wet Okole.
I really like the touch and the added layer of neoprene makes the seats even more comfortable.
But I was thinking in your case, to carry a dog, depending on it's size there are several threads providing some recommendations:
Creating a thread to consolidate pics/info on dog guards and boot covers for the model Y. Will add a pick of my saluki in the boot later on. I've gone with a well priced boot cover from Amazon (was £25 when I bought it) https://amzn.to/3vJZtJ7 Only found one dog guard so far (not yet...

I bought a Basenor back seat dog cover. It is unacceptable because the surface is slick and my dog slides around when I turn, accelerate or brake. Can you recommend a good one?
