Wife replacing BMW X3M40i - looking at Model Y or BMW iX3 - decision time!

It doesn't have 2 out of those 3. Maybe 3 out of those 3 (Metric lights but they don't matrix).

[UK] Help with legal case against Tesla over USS

@init6 Nowhere did I say the way to go about it would be to just chuck some YT vids at the judge. Patronising to suggest anyone would go about a serious claim in this way. Ironically, YT vids would be a perfectly adequate source as there are enough people on there who are hardcore testers /...

    Is this a serious reply?

[UK] Help with legal case against Tesla over USS

I agree it may mean they now have 'some' kind of argument but I'd be pretty confident that anyone with half a brain could put together a comprehensive take down of TV with very little effort. So vastly more difficult - don't think so.

    Trading Standards & Park Assist

BASIC parking features, working wipers and MINIMAL customer service etc are not in their infancy. What’s with all the masochists on here deary me…

    Trading Standards & Park Assist

You still don’t get it - no opposing views were invited, it’s not a debate thread about Tesla’s R&D approach or the correct philosophical view Tesla owners should take on their cars. Not sure how you don’t get that. I stopped replying to that BoopBop guy as it’s a waste of time, such is the...

[UK] Help with legal case against Tesla over USS

Why? It’s demonstrably crap and there’s tonnes of evidence. In their own words: ‘We will reinstate it when it achieves parity with USS’ 😆😆😆

[UK] Help with legal case against Tesla over USS

I wonder how it alters the case (I’m going through one myself and being blown off) now that they’ve actually ‘delivered’ the feature, especially as it’s close to useless. For me nothing has changed - there are still no objectively useable parking assist features.

    Firmware 2023.2 and Park Assist

Really? Do you just mean the standard ‘proximity’ graphics like this or full on birdseye 360 imaging?

    Trading Standards & Park Assist

Amusing update. So vision based assistance is here - I did a first quick test. I started to pull out of my drive way and made sure to steer toward the lamppost which is just off my driveway. The system doesn’t recognise it at all, no matter how close I get, even if I steer into it. In this...

UK spare-part availability - X in for 3+ months waiting for part

I don’t know about the USA but in Europe, manufacturers must maintain availability of every part for 8-10 years AFTER a model has stopped being made.

Wife replacing BMW X3M40i - looking at Model Y or BMW iX3 - decision time!

The only reason I went with a Tesla was the charging network. In almost every other area they are / have squandered their advantage. Parking Tech ❌ Ride Quality ❌ Build Quality ❌ Customer Service ❌ Accessories ❌ No way will the next EV be a Tesla.

    Trading Standards & Park Assist

I’m not so sure. As stated before, this is now about them having an open-ended delivery date on a USS replacement system which they are contractually obliged to deliver - a feature they STILL offer and market. There must be a time limit for such things and I believe Trading Standards will have...

    Trading Standards & Park Assist

As have I. This thread is about seeing how Tesla will respond to formal challenge under UK consumer law. Stop cheerleading and try making a relevant contribution, rather than add more unnecessary drama.

Mainly bothered about park distance visuals. My pal got his YLR same week, ordered at the same time and his has USS. We’re not friends anymore.

    Trading Standards & Park Assist

Great brands are made after the sale. Tesla aren’t interested in building a rock solid brand, just cash grabs and spouting stock manipulating BS. All this nonsense just really shows the culture over there. The whole infatuation with their own farts, Elon knows best, software obsessed...

At this point just admission they’re being silly and some free charging miles and / or cash will be something.

I would say shittiest EVER, in my experience.
  23. R

    Trading Standards & Park Assist

Exactly this! ‘We have this amazing feature we’re working on, why not pay for it now and we’ll let you know when it’s ready… maybe.’ But this feature that doesn’t exist yet, it’s definitely fitted to my car right? 😆

Parking Assist Not Working [not Autopark]

My parking sensors have never worked. Probably cos they were never installed 😆😩😡
  25. R

    Trading Standards & Park Assist

My thoughts... The product lists parking assistance and auto-parkling as a feature - that's what I bought/ I didn't;t buy 'TeslaVision.' In any case, what IS TeslaVision as of right now? As in exactly what does it do - not what it kinda does or what it MIGHT do. Total BS. Also, implies TV will...

It definitely affected the order and has not improved the product. Just crazy how they write this stuff and send it out to people like we’re all utter idiots.

Tesla’s response to me notifying them of my Trading Stabdards report: Thank you for your email, we are sorry to hear you are unhappy with your vehicle due to the removal of the ultra-sonic sensors. We can confirm the vehicle was as advertised as having Tesla Vision included as part of your...

    Trading Standards & Park Assist

I would want formal acknowledgement of the issue and some kind of tangible gesture - money / free charging etc. As far as what we could get - that's what we'll find out. They can't remove USS just from the 3 and Y but leave them on pricier models as this is tantamount to admitting that a...
  29. R

    Trading Standards & Park Assist

It’s totally unacceptable that one could spend 25% (or more!) of that period minus major features that were paid for.
  30. R

    Trading Standards & Park Assist

Who TF knows! But if true, they must know they’ll be bang to rights. You’d think they’d foresee the aggro this could cause if they did this. It’s baffling behavior really.
  31. R

    Trading Standards & Park Assist

    Exactly like FSD.
  32. R

    Trading Standards & Park Assist

But the issue is not lack of USS anymore. That’s a scandal but their wriggle out is that they’re replacing them with TV. The grievance is, no replacement is forthcoming and no window of when it will be. You can’t offer / sell / charge for something that you aren’t delivering and can’t say when...
  33. R

    Trading Standards & Park Assist

Interesting. Seems a pretty open and shut case to me, don’t quite get why there hasn’t been tonnes of cases raised. They’re clearly taking the piss tho. I’m definitely chucking one in too. Just not sure what remedy I’d be asking for.
  34. R

    Trading Standards & Park Assist

It’s not as sexy a scandal (it is scandalous) as the great FSD rip-off but is there a case to be made against a manufacturer offering a car with ‘Parking Assistance’ that is delivered with exactly zero assistance? Yes, we know they say it’s coming but we know that could be never and even if it...

    750 Miles in ‘23 LR Model Y

They're actually worse than I thought as my lower back is still sore 3 days ;after and I don't have any back issues usually. Will need to keep a lumbar cushion about for long trips. Feels like coming off a long uncomfortable flight and my back might 'give' any second. Any way to tell?
  36. R

    750 Miles in ‘23 LR Model Y

There is a tunnel, you drive onto a train and that train goes under the channel. There are also loads of ferries from multiple ports. The EuroTunnel is crazy expensive now now and you have to book well in advance for peak times. The charges seem to be similar across SC sites - around 40p / 40c...

    750 Miles in ‘23 LR Model Y

As in tyre height? Yes, 19" Gemini's on stock tyres. No roof racks etc. I think I read that the LR had 83KWh but I could be totally wrong. It's between Dijon and Lyon. Chalon-sur-Saône area.

Tesla U.K. have closed all their front of house service teams and it’s absolutely baffling

The OP’s experience is the kind of thing that makes my blood boil and panic sweat in equal measure. If I was told I had to wait 3 months for a fix, the SC would be in for some SERIOUS aggravation. Absolute BS from Tesla 😡

Model Y Review by a Hater

No I didn’t say this exclusively, just that I’ve never owned an EV before. I’ve driven a fair few but regardless, in my opinion, the single best thing about EVs is the instant torque and smooth power delivery / easy acceleration - this is a benefit of electric motors in general so not something...

Model Y Review by a Hater

95% of my annual driving is in town and below 40mph. Having said that, I’d have no problem reffiting the covers for long trips but they’ll scratch the newly painted black wheels. 4% is a hit I’ll take for having nice looking wheels. Silly I know but looks matter to me in all things.

Model Y Review by a Hater

Confused. I have the 19’s. I meant the difference between aero cover or no cover on the 19’s?

Model Y Review by a Hater

This is true but not unique to Tesla, which is why I didn’t mention it. Almost every EV enjoys this advantage.
  43. R

Model Y Review by a Hater

I Is it really that big a gain? Can you elaborate? From which speed does it really impact and to what extent? Is this assessed independently somewhere? That aside, the covers are a dealbreaker, make it look like an Prius or generic Far Eastern car. 💀

    750 Miles in ‘23 LR Model Y

Model Y/LR - 83KWh battery. Supercharger costs in France = 40 Cents per KWh. Full charge - €33 to 330 'Battery' Miles Actual Mileage Range 280-300 Miles Car achieves approx 3.6 Miles per KWh = approx 11 Cents per mile. 750 Miles trip = €82.5 I've done this trip many times in IC cars and my last...

    750 Miles in ‘23 LR Model Y

I could be wrong, I’ll do the maths later and report back with an exact figure. I got 6,000 free miles from Tesla so actually this trip won’t cost anything 😆
  46. R

    750 Miles in ‘23 LR Model Y

Good question. From memory, I’d say about 40-50% cheaper. Superchargers aren’t cheap - thought Tesla owners would get a better deal but… 🤷‍♂️

Model Y Review by a Hater

This makes no sense. It seems you are incapable of distinguishing between a fact-based experience of general customer service and completely unrelated, RELAYING information here from a service tech, information I neither supported nor discounted, merely shared unvarnished. Or you are conflating...

    750 Miles in ‘23 LR Model Y

Well, committed to doing the annual ski trip from London to the French alps in the Y/LR which is 750 miles door to door. Some learnings from me: The Supercharger network appears to be as good as they say (in France 😆). The nav planned it all out perfectly and there was only one instance...
