Just wanted to say that that is not (always) true. I changed my order to an inventory vehicle in early January, and my car only just landed in Port Melbourne this week. According to the EDD it can still take up to three weeks to take delivery. So for Tesla, "inventory vehicle" could mean that...

Price drop in the US today (increase for the Model Y) as well as in some asian countries. Hopefully we'll get one here before delivery, which, in the case of Melbourne, can take another indefinite number of weeks judging by how long those vessels have been floating outside of port!
