need some advice/guidance on Tesla MYLR repair

Thank you both gx9901 and jay1122. Didn't think to engage the SC at first. There doesn't seem to be an option to schedule service now that I have a collision center appointment open. Calling them gets me an IVR always; finding a human seems sooooo difficult.

need some advice/guidance on Tesla MYLR repair

Hello, I'd like your opinions and experiences on getting repairs done with Tesla corporate body shops vs third-party but Tesla-approved shops. I impacted a curb pretty badly during recent local snowstorm. Had X-Ice Snow tires on but that didn't seem to help much. I'm now trying to navigate...

anyone with experiences with Fix Auto Concord (Vaughan, Ontario)? how is parts availability nowadays

2023 MYLR, the front right suspension is damaged. Wondering if anyone has experiences using Fix Auto Concord, Vaughan, Ontario, Canada. I believe they are Tesla certified. Is parts availability still an issue? Lots of discussion on TMC in 2023 regarding months-long waits for parts. Thank you.

    uneven matrix lights

2023 MYLR There is a frosted section at the top (daytime lights), then a thin strip, then the projectors at the bottom. My drivers side light has the thin strip very dim, passenger side very bright. Noticed this on another Y on the road earlier today. Anyone else?

    Replica R267 - Aftermarket Wheels

@arckron Not sure if the numbers are the same in the US as in Canada, but the replacement part number for the R263 center caps is C-1544PD20BN

Winter tire shopping - Looking at the NOKIAN TYRES HAKKAPELIITTA R5 EV

Hakkapeliittas are nordic winter tires, not performance winter tires. Tyrereviews.com ran a test on nordic tires with a performance winter for comparison to show the design tradeoffs and the resulting behavioral differences.

    Replika R263 19x8.5 +40 & X-Ice Snow 255/45R19

Just got new shoes for the car. Narrower rims to hopefully mitigate curb rash. Center caps off to retorque nuts after a few km to let things settle in.

    TMC Website Tutorial

On iOS PWA I don’t see any easy way to go “back” except to scroll all the way to top and find one button on top left. I don’t see any floating back button, only top and reply.

MASTER THREAD: Removing marks from white seats

I had previous success using Gyeon Leather Cleaner mild for jeans dye transfer. A more stubborn faint grey stain on the outside driver and passenger edges (like shown in #252) did NOT come off with Leather cleaner strong and Gyeon brush, despite multiple applications. Dye transfer from rear...

    Replika R241 Wheels

turns out that many of the Replika models in 19x8.5 size (e.g. R263) ONLY come in +40 offset
  12. C

    Replika R241 Wheels

For those of you who mounted Replika 19x8.5 wheels, what offset did you end up getting? edit: do you reduce offset (to +40?) to keep the sidewall position similar to OEM 19x9.5+45, or should you keep the offset the same (I'm assuming this keeps the contact patch the same?)

Tesla wall connector - VIN security for NACS adoptees?

Mine is set to authorized VINs too. But charging a car with J1772 inlet was not the question I was asking. I suppose I hinted at it in the post title - for cars from non-Tesla manufacturers who are switching to NACS, I hope they support the same authorized-VINs-only security that can be done...

Tesla wall connector - VIN security for NACS adoptees?

Just curious if anyone has heard if the VIN-based security on the wall connector will work with non-Tesla vehicles with NACS inlets. Thanks!

    What the puck?

I just received a set of BASENOR pucks. The post is slightly too tall for my Y. Are there any concerns with a bit of extra pressure on the inside-the-hole part of the jack point? (is that small spot somewhat load-bearing?) (I could chop it down a bit but I feel a custom product should work...

Winter tire shopping - Looking at the NOKIAN TYRES HAKKAPELIITTA R5 EV

For those still interested in R5 vs R5 EV rolling resistance: I did some digging around; it seems the R5 and R5 EV tires rate in the same "B" EPREL fuel efficiency class. I looked up labels for 235/45R18 (M3) and 235/45R18 (MYLR) and they show the same class: 235/45R18XL - M3 size R5 -...

    AM radio retrofit?

Given that the US Congress is moving to make AM radio mandatory in cars, do you think we will get a hardware retrofit to enable receiving over-the-air?

touchscreen frunk open unresponsive after long drives, works after long parking session, always opens from app -- anyone else?

Wondering if anyone is willing to try and reproduce this behavior. Procedure would be: MYLR 2023.6.11 vehicle in park rear hatch set to highest opening height confirm frunk open from touchscreen works set rear hatch to lowest opening height, confirm height close all doors and lock/unlock car a...

touchscreen frunk open unresponsive after long drives, works after long parking session, always opens from app -- anyone else?

The SC replaced the "faulted" frunk actuator and the frunk latch. I got the car back, tested touchscreen frunk open - works. Noticed rear hatch set to maximum opening height; reset the rear hatch to the lowest opening height (because I previously dinged the edge in a low height underground...

touchscreen frunk open unresponsive after long drives, works after long parking session, always opens from app -- anyone else?

Sorry for the late reply. Yes, vehicle is in park (pushed right stalk button) after a drive, dark "P" is showing upper left screen. I don't consider hold mode to be "vehicle parked" but more like "held-at-stop". Touchscreen frunk "open" does blink when pressed, indicating the touch was...

touchscreen frunk open unresponsive after long drives, works after long parking session, always opens from app -- anyone else?

Yes. No change. (Just dropped off at SC - will update with findings. Mobile rep said this has happened to other cars as well.)

touchscreen frunk open unresponsive after long drives, works after long parking session, always opens from app -- anyone else?

2023 Y LR, Fremont build Possibly coincidentally after update to 2023.6.9 I noticed the touchscreen frunk open would not work after a long drive (over 2-3km maybe?), and would usually open after car had been parked for a long time. Always opens via app. On 2023.9.11 (again maybe coincidence...

    Model Y White Seats

I had bad blue dye transfer from a new set of dark jeans I thought were washed but apparently not. Cleaned up with Gyeon mild cleaner and their horsehair brush. Looks like new now. Weather should be warm enough for me to apply Q2 leather shield now.

headlight touching side panel - any potential issues down the road?

Just took delivery of a MYLR on Sat. Both (matrix) headlights are not perfect, but the driver-side on is touching / flush against the side metal panel. Hearing the horror stories here, at first I thought I'd leave it, but would like to know opinions on whether it may be an issue later on (e.g...

Going from 19x9.5 to 19x8.5, any concerns?

Do you feel the "sticks out enough" is enough to go through a car wash that uses wheel tracks to pull cars along, and not scratch the wheels? (I realize some may be mortified by the thought of "automatic car wash" but in the winter they are a great/fast/convenient way to remove road salt from...

too easy to accidentally make changes on Tesla app?

Just curious if it's just me or do others find it too easy to make a change on the app? Just swiping around to scroll the screen, I managed to accidentally change the charge limit setting once, and activate climate another time. Those weren't that critical; what I'm really concerned about is...

PPF for front - maintenance and other considerations

19x8.5 wheels + 255/45R19 tires - any concerns scratching rims in car washes that use wheel tracks?

(Hello everyone, first post! Picking up my Y in a few days!) For those of you who've installed the stock tire size on 8.5 inch width wheels, do you feel the extra sidewall protrusion is enough to protect the rims if they pass through a car wash with wheel tracks? (Has anyone tried it and...
